The one thing I don’t agree with Ed 47 is the last comment by GDS2 or something like that. Saying, us liverpool fans, think United’s success stemmed from referring decisions and that they are “better than that “ .

Whilst it’s well documented that Ferguson would often storm into the official’s changing rooms after games, if decisions didn’t go their way, asking for certain refs not to officiate United’s games. That’s only a small part.

Let’s not forget they couldn’t knock us off our perch without the riches of the premier league, two floatations on the stock exchange, giving them the money to re build old Trafford and invest heavily in the team.

I’m 48 so I’ve seen all our success in the 80’s and united’s revival in the early 90’s, every club has it’s time .

But when I hear United fans moaning that city have “ bought “ their success, They need to rewind and look into their own history and fortunes.

One of my Man U supporting colleagues has already nailed his colours to the mast that this league title doesn't count because all the other teams are 'in transition'.

I suggested to him that Fergie's titles don't count because three of the last four old First Division winners (Leeds, Everton and us) have been 'in transition' for 30 years.

On here ( and I think I speak for lots of us here, on the LFC page) we couldn’t wish for a more un bias Ed. You give us credit when credit is due and always value your honest opinions mate.

I’m probably tempting fate but have booked a hotel in Newcastle for the last game of the season - if we’re in line to win the league, it’ll be amazing up there.

If not, it’s always a good night out in geordie land.
