After all the ref from Manchester conspiracy theorists I thought he had a good game. Pretty fair throughout.

Also special word for Mane who especially second half was different class.

Yes I agree with that. There was some bad thoughts surrounding the ref and var. I thought the done a decent job.

Yes in fairness the referee did a good job👍.

Are you guys kidding? Thiago and Fabinho both shouldn't have finished that game. Got away with reds quite clearly. Taylor was horrible, which isn't unusual for him to be fair.

And this is coming from someone who doesn't care whether Pool or City wins the title.

Refs did ok apart from that blatant corner we didn't get. They even checked for handball but seemed to forget it would be a corner if not a pen.

Fabinho, Thiago probably got the benefit of the doubt on some yellows and therefore were able to get away with one more foul than usual.

An ok refereeing performance.

nah, no handball, clearly hit his thigh. Ok, goal kick then.
hahahahahaha

good game all-round. think those tackles can go either way for red / yellow.

The Thiago one were he ran into De Bruyne I think it was looked like him over stretching after being pulled back. I've only seen it once though but I thought at the time it didn't look malicious. Fab was lucky I thought. But then again I thought he was lucky to still be playing as I thought he had a poor game and could've been hooked.

even though it looks like common sense, once they have given the goal kick VAR can't award corners even if they look at handball.

I don't think anyone would of argued if they changed the decision but once you start changing decisions on small things like that, it could open a can of worms.

obviously looks stupid but I see why it wasn't overturned.

I do think Thiago was lucky, but again VAR can't give out yellows so couldn't look into it. And the fab one could of gone either way, luckily it was yellow by the ref so wasn't enough to overturn, just.

I don't think Jackson knows what horrible means.

Ref had already blown the whistle for a foul on Thiago before he lunged in (I think it looked malicious bug wasn’t as KDB came from his blind side so don’t think Thiago even saw him) . Similar to when Pickford wasn’t penalised for the Vvd foul as offside was already given. Unless that rules been changed.

KDB should have been sent off then for his high tackle if those are reds. We were overrun in midfield, as we don’t have the speed they do so makes our players look off the pace, frantic and desperate tackles are needed. If the tactics/ players this weekend are the same, I can’t see us getting away with it again.

Trust me, I know what horrible is. I'm a Chelsea fan and watched every single horrible performance during our disaster season where they came in 10th.

Someone yesterday saying Mane and Mo looked tired and needed to be benched midweek. I’m no expert but Mane especially was fantastic yesterday.

Mane ran himself ragged for the cause and I can’t remember a time when he lost possession. He was a different class yesterday.

Salah is still lacking goals but played a beauty of a pass for our 2nd. And worked hard in defense as well.

Maybe it was a case of levelling up Jackson…. I talk specifically about the VAR official.

Fair enough, Jackson.

I think Mane has a touch of Suarez about him recently. Backing into players, bumping into them and fighting to hold possession.
He doesn't do it as well as Suarez but he has improved with his back to goal. I wish Jota would do the same and improve his link up play, as well.

I thought the refs were crap. Not bad against us, just bad overall.

Jota too was utter crap esp with his passing. But he scores and gets into good positions to finish

Mane does seem better with back to goal.
His touch for first half was poor but 2nd half, esp when playing in middle was good.

{Ed077's Note - "Jota too was utter crap esp with his passing. But he scores and gets into good positions to finish"

That could be Dioga Jota's Player Profile summary.

Was it only Jota that was crap yesterday?

He was probably the sole reason we didn’t win then.

Jackson, what on earth ate you on about? Thiago was clearly being fouled by Rodri and he was struggling for control due to being held back then he clatters into KDB. The ref correctly called the foul on Rodri. So how was Thiago supposed to go for that? Utter tosh.

As for Fav, it was a yellow cos he went for the ball and no way a straight red would have been given for that, IMO.
