Chelsea fan here. I don't post a lot anymore, and definitely not on the Liverpool page. But have to say, quite the achievement winning all 6 group stage matches when that group includes Porto, Atletico and AC Milan.

Not that I didn't expect Pool to win the group, you're clearly better than those teams. But to go through with a 100% win rate, that's impressive.

Congrats :)

Thanks Jackson, good luck with the sesson, though not you much luck lol.

Fair play, Jackson. Remember, it was El Groupo De La Muerte so that makes it even more special.

I was surprised how bad they all looked against us. None were prepared or seemed fit enough to handle us. Athletico weren't even able to contain us :)
Not taking anything away from us though great performances from all players involved.

I can't believe how bad Milan were, at home needing a win Italian football has nose dived.

Apart from Kessie (who was all over the field) it looked like they had all already decided LFC were going to win, and they were therefore just going through the motions of playing in a football game. The urgency of playing at home and getting maximum points possible to have a chance of going forward, was nowhere to be seen.

Congrats on the victory last night. Think we can all agree it was a great game to watch, much better than the CL final :-)

Fair play Jackson. It was an entertaining game. We were too open for my liking but credit has to go to Chelsea.
They look a totally different team with Kante and showed no hangover from Sunday which was a bit of a harsh result in my opinion.
The game did underline how important Bobby is to the system - god knows what we will do if he was out for an extended period.

the champions final was a tactical master class by our manager and his back room staff don't show disrespect to the manager his back room staff and the players did you not read what the boss did before facing spurs in the final if you don't look it up and be educated will you.

Your boy Ibe's got some serious speed. He almost beat Azpi twice, not many players can say they've done that :)

Ed001, please apply for the Chelsea Director of Football role. We need someone at the club that understands the talents we sign from elsewhere are often worse than the ones we have in house.

Jackson

{Ed001's Note - I have never understood that about Chelsea. It seems like those players developed are purely seen as a way of making money. Academies making money should be a by product of doing well, rather than the aim.}

Very true, Ed. Indeed I don't know what the situation exactly was, and what Chelsea have done wrong with regards to youth recruitment. Which is why I would've liked for Mark to elaborate on his comment.

Could you elaborate on that instead of vaguely putting out that statement, Mark?

Chelsea did obviously get the transfer ban due to breaking rules with regards to youth recruitment, but I doubt most of the best players Cobham has helped form were at the core of that mess. Doubt there were any breaches in forming the likes of Mount, James, Gilmour, Abraham, Broja, Gallagher, Callum, Guehi, Livramento, Lamptey, Colwill, Musiala, Tomori.

Think Christensen's case was involved, as well as Bertrand Traore. So I'll give you those.

Jackson

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure why the comment was posted. It seems neither of you understand the situation.}

You call winning on penalties spanking? :-) well I guess each can give it the interpretation he/ she wants. But to me that's not spanking, it's winning an evenly contested match.

And I know it wasn't your complete first choice XI in FA Cup, just like ours wasn't first choice either. I'd say we matched up very well with you guys this season funnily enough. Obviously you've been miles better overall, but in the direct contests it's been very balanced in my opinion.

Musiala might be the best U20 player in world football. Kid is amazing. Shame about the German nationality thing. Would've been another Cobham graduate if not.

Jackson

{Ed001's Note - he is incredible, though there are a few that would argue about the best U20 label. Barca have 2 in Fati and Gavi that could put up a good counter-argument. If Fati's little brother stays at it, he will outshine all of them, but it is rare that a younger brother does so when the older one has come through shining like he has done.}

Trust me, I know what horrible is. I'm a Chelsea fan and watched every single horrible performance during our disaster season where they came in 10th.

Are you guys kidding? Thiago and Fabinho both shouldn't have finished that game. Got away with reds quite clearly. Taylor was horrible, which isn't unusual for him to be fair.

And this is coming from someone who doesn't care whether Pool or City wins the title.

Chelsea fan here. Our squad has been ravaged by injuries and C.V.. The worst of our C.V. hit seems to have passed by now, but players are far from being fully fit after having "recovered". We've got a tonne of injured players, and the ones "fit" have been playing way too many minutes and look like they're out of energy after 20 minutes in matches these days. What hasn't helped is that despite having been hit hard by C.V., Chelsea is one of the 2 clubs that have not had a match postponed yet.

So yeah, if your squad is looking a little depleted for our match, don't worry. Ours definitely is too.

Winning the match today made it a bit easier to digest that decision, but it's simply astonishing how they take minutes to review it and still come to the inexplicably wrong conclusion.
