So if / when we sign Diaz i guess mane is going. I’m not sure why people want rid of Bobby now though?

Mane has flirted with other clubs for a few seasons now and has shown at times he would listen to offers much the same can be said for salah.

Salah now sees LFC as being his best bet for a bumper contract and personally I’d give him it. He’s been consistently brilliant.

Mane has been good this season but he’s nowhere near what he was when he signed he hasn’t been the same for 2 years now.

Bobby while he hasn’t been consistent hasn’t been flirting with other teams seems to love life at LFC and is still a huge reason why mane and salah both get so many goals. He is so unselfish he sets them up instead of scoring himself and as klopp says he’s like the composer for the team.

I hope Bobby stays a few more years and if mane goes so be it.

I feel mane will prove so many people wrong. He remains quality even if not his peak of two years ago. Find it strange that fans want firmino here for years but happy to let mane go, when mane still offers more for me.

Still joint 4th top scorer in the league. Perhaps he’s unfairly compared to salah and now people think he’s no good.

Hopefully the competition from Diaz and a stabilised midfield could help him rediscover his form.

Btw who has mane flirted with? Genuinely never heard anything serious about him wanting out.

Who has mane been flirting with? . I’ve seen reports on Salah’s agents but didn’t realise Mane had as well.

I think once Mane goes then we will realise what a great player he was for us. He’s currently the joint highest scoring LW in the league despite being a RW and being at the Afcon during Jan but we seem to talk about him like he’s offering little to nothing.

And then on the other hand we talk up Origi and give him legendary status for scoring against Barcelona 3 years ago.

Imagine if we could move on Origi, Mino and Ox from the front 3 and then have 5 attackers to maybe play 4 of them up top with Bobby or Mane in the pocket and 1 still on the bench to play against tired legs. I’m sure the teams who have successfully parked the bus against us might find we have found a plan b.

There is no reason why we can’t go forward with Diaz, Jota, Mane, Bobby and Salah. City are doing similar. We may possibly play 4 of those in a game and there is always chance of injuries.
I’d definitely be looking to move on Origi and Minamino now.

I'd agree that he's not been at his best the last few seasons but I think we should hold on to Bobby.

I'd hope we could get 30mil for Mane which is money that could be used for a midfielder or even a cebtre forward. I don't think we could get much for firmino giving his age and form, he would be worth more to us as a squad player with his experience coming off the bench to close games down or to help the younger lads.

Jota, mane now Dias are all primarily left sided players we don't have many guys to play through the centre. (I prefer jota on the left) .

For what's it's worth I'm a big fan of mane and Bobby both, just think we should get something for Mane while he still has value. It'll be a sad day when he leaves the club, as with firmino as well.

I don’t think The previously correct line that Bobby is the reason Salah and Mane score loss of goals is correct. He isn’t playing much and they are both still scoring, he hasn’t made many assists when he is playing and the all around link up play I am sorry to say has faded to almost nothing. I watch him closely and the ball bounces of him, hold up play is gone. I wouldn’t mind him staying as at his best he is good and that he doesn’t rely on pace means he probably could be useful for longer than say Mane for example, IF he gets back to his best. He hasn’t been at his best for 2 years now I’m afraid so I think the writing is on the wall. Needs to go to a slower league I reckon.

I hear you Bmena but I’d look at it another way…

For £30m do you think we could have a better winger in our rotation than mane? For me, no chance. City for years have rotated between many forwards and it’s clearly been critical to them winning many trophies. I think we need to do the same.

Also yes they are primarily left sides but mane can play any of the 3 positions. His first season with us was at right wing and he’s also played many games through the middle.

I have no idea on the finances however. I would ideally keep all 5. But if one has to go then it’s firmino for me.

I do agree with need a midfielder though. Hopefully people will stop this nonsense about an “overhaul” now.

Naby, Ox, Thiago and Milner are all on more than Mane. Personally I don’t see the rush to move on the highest scoring LW in the league for a measly (in football terms) 30 mill.

The likelihood is 2-4 of the names above will move on in the summer so why can’t we give their terms to Mane. After all he never asked for a pay rise after wining the CL and PL so what’s the likelihood he’s going to ask for 400k a week also all of a sudden.

Agreed on letting those players go instead JK. I’d keep Thiago however the fears I had when we signed him (his injury record) do seem to be a problem. That being said, still a quality player.

Good point on mane not asking for a raise (I didn’t know this) . Yet some will besmirch him by suggesting he wanted out when there’s no evidence of that.

He’s a legend and deserves more respect.

If we sign Diaz and if we want to do a ‘one in, one out’ thing, I’d say one of Taki, Div and Ox might be the one to go. If the chose to play Diaz in midfield (unlikely I’d say), he would probably be a replacement for the space freed up by Millie, who I reckon will hang up his boots at the end of the season.

The disrespect on Sadio and Bobby is disappointing. They are not 35 year olds. If the club have to make an economic decision then so be it but I for one want to keep both of them here for as long as possible and won’t be lobbying for their departures.

Put it this way, they’d both walk into our PL rival lineups - even City. Guardiola would love Bobby.

Leave the economics to the bean counters.

If mane chooses to leave on his own accord then fair enough. I think he may accept the role given he’ll still probably play many games and that Diaz signing doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be an automatic starter.

Point is, we shouldn’t be looking to push him out.

Agreed fly, keep the lot. Challenge for everything.
