We could do worse than Coutinho in this current market.

At least Coutinho was never racist, never bit anyone, never sang songs about disabled Liverpool fans, and never tried to gouge Gomez's eye out.

Of all our ex-players who are good enough to improve our squad he is one of the few who isn't an absolute weapon. He did obviously fake the back injury the summer before the January he left, but then he still turned up with 15 goals and 12 assists in half a season.

I don't think its the best option but far from the worst.

I've been fairly quiet about Couts, however, you make some very good points, Adam.

I'm not sure we would spend a transfer fee for him as I expect it would still be £30-£50m even in this market. However, a loan for the year would actually be quite a cannot move.

Its clear that our transfer plans have been significantly hampered by CV, and FSG are clearly being cautious with transfer fees this year before, hopefully, investing more next summer once we have (hopefully) a year of attendances back at Anfield.

So, a top level performer for a year would be a very good move, allows Klopp some formation flexibility when required and keeps our powder dry for someone like Haaland, Bellingham or someone else next summer.

I would be rather supportive of this, TBH.

Pipco made his bed, as did Barca. Let them both fester in it together.

Spot on, VVVV. COu not being any of the things MKS said, does not remove the fact that he threatened other things that were terrible as well like having his agent slander the club and Klopp in the media, kicking up a fuss in the DR, lying about a back injury just to duck out of playing for us WHEREAS he went and balled out for Brazil the very same weekend. They can all fester together on the bed (s) they have made for themselves. I stopped caring about them and Cou specifically since he left and I have NEVER wanted him back. Why? We are a much better team since he left, fact.
