Great read as usual Ed, I think he’s overhyped but no Foden in the top ten?

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure what his best position is, so I decided to go with what Transfermarkt said and they have him as a winger I think. It is too early to be sure exactly what position he will settle down in, as there has been talk he will be tried as the main forward next season, in a Bobby Firmino-type role.}

Ah I see Ed, thanks. Be interesting to see if he does end up playing that role next season. What are your thoughts on him? There’s an awful lot of hype around him.

I'd probably find a place in there for Oxlade-Chamberlain. When fit i think only Mount is better than him in that list. Sadly it's rare he is fully fit!

Foden would be top of the list by a considerable amount if considered a central attacking midfielder. I don’t know why people are calling it ‘hype’ the amount fo MOTM performances and the goals/ assists/ chances created numbers he puts out, shows that it’s not hype. I think a lot of people have red tinted glasses on when speaking about him and want him to be worse than he is. He is one on a generation good.

{Ed001's Note - he really wouldn't be top of the list, don't presume to know what I think as you clearly have no idea. He is playing for a team that were considerably better than their opponents creating him acres of space last season, against teams that were all struggling for fitness as they didn't have huge squads. It was not a time to judge his performances. This season coming is when we will find out if he really is going to live up to the potential.}

Willock ed? He played a lot in that role floating about everywhere. Scored 7 in 7 or something.

{Ed001's Note - yeah but he was not playing well, just kept popping up with goals. He even got dropped during the run as his performances were so poor.}

Ed shows how bad the pool to pick from is when you have a 48 year old Lallana still making the top 10 and a couple of guys from Scotland who 90% of the world wouldn’t have heard of making the top 10 also.

I wasn’t presuming ed I should have stated ‘in my opinion’ - no need to be so abrupt. Even last season before the C.V. hit, you could see he belonged in the City 11 and was a David Silva replacement by his performances and flashes of brilliance.

Mount is an excellent player, would love him at Liverpool. During the last few months of this season he showed attributes I didn't think he possessed in great pace and a fantastic work rate off the ball.

I am surprised that Gauld didn’t make the Scots squad as he’s had a good season, where as Ryan Fraser has been terrible for Newcastle.

Mount has been exceptional but i don't know if tuchel is right manager for him.
I don't like how tuchel actually limits his attacking abilities. He could become an exceptionally lethal AM under a pep or klopp.
Tuchel might actually make him a better overall player but he will sacrifice his attacking edge. Also there is too much competition in chelsea side for that same spot. He def has made it his which speaks volumes about his mentality and spirit at such a young age.
On a different note what do you think of callum hudson odoi mate? think he also be in same league as mount as a winger but he just never gets his chances.

I presume Grealish is categorised as a winger like Foden, was expecting Grealish to be top of the list but that's the thing about categorising players in to a position. I would have said centre mid for Mount but he plays attacking mid and the floating winger type role. must be confusing for anyone trying to keep the likes of Championship Manager games up to date, positions are a lot more fluid now in the attacking roles especially.

{Ed001's Note - I have been going through all the positions mate, if you look on football news views there is already a few done and I only have left wing, right wing and striker left to do. You might need to go into the monthly archives to find some of the older ones, such as goalkeepers though.}

I've been hugely impressed whenever watching Eze this season. You've mentioned he needs to move to take a step up Ed001 - is there any interest in him this summer from anyone? Do you think he would suit the way we play? I'd be happy for us to sign him!

{Ed001's Note - I don't know about any interest in him sorry. He would need to up his workrate a bit more but he could probably play for us I would think.}

Great read, I think you should allow yourself some flexibility on the positions to be honest - I can't believe that some of those players make it into the list! Complete bias but considering the paucity . Curtis Jones?

{Ed001's Note - because so many players, particularly young ones, I am not sure which position is their best, I go with Transfermarket's listings. I just pick the position I am going for and search under England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. I just went back and checked and realised he wasn't already in the central/defensive midfield list either, so searched for him and he didn't even show up when I put his name in their search box. Which explains why I forgot about him, but makes me wonder how many other players I am missing from these lists now!}
