Hi Ed, a number of links to ...............

-----------Try the European pages-----------

1.) 23 Apr 2022 11:23:26
No problem Ed, will do.

11 Oct 2021 18:44:35
Another couple of names linked Charles De Ketelaere from club brugge and ousmanne dembele (I believe klopp is a fan) and he is out of contact in the summer.

Any truth to these Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Charles De Ketelaere (AM/LW/F) There has been interest from Nice and Lorient who were worried about losing Terem Moffi. Arsenal have watched him but taken it no further. I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool.

I dealt with Dembele earlier today.}

1.) 11 Oct 2021 21:50:34
When you say you “dealt with him” Ed, is that in the Mafia sense of the term?

14 Aug 2021 11:39:11
Looks like Ben Davies is off to Sheffield utd on loan. Shame, as it seems he will never play a competitive game for Liverpool.

Feel for the lad. Hopefully he can get his career going again.

1.) 14 Aug 2021 12:56:02
He missed 3 and a half months of football, oh the drama!

2.) 14 Aug 2021 13:28:07
Completely ignoring the knock-on effects this has likely had on his confidence there, Jadon.

3.) 14 Aug 2021 13:48:20
Again, the drama! not being a d%$k lads but the lad would have known the score when he signed, and then he had injuries. The chances of him leaving at the seasons end were always quite large. The blokes confidence isn't suddenly going to be shot cos someone rates VVD, Gomez, Matip and Kounate ahead of him.

4.) 14 Aug 2021 14:14:53
So you’re saying the guy signed at the end of Feb during our defensive crisis, turning down Celtic in the process, in the full knowledge he was very unlikely to play a game and then to be moved on in the summer?

Gotcha 👌🏼.

5.) 14 Aug 2021 14:40:21
Then why didn't he play, it wasnt a grand evil scheme outa Klopp to wreck a coupla months of the blokes career. He got an injury and then when fit he was deemed inferior to a guy that had originally been meant to go to Swansea on loan and a kid who's only senior experience was non league. Surely if he was impressing more than them two he'd have played, he obviously didnt.

6.) 14 Aug 2021 15:04:03
Jebus! Give me a break. Is everybody meant to be a delicate little flower these days? I doubt spending half a year with some of the worlds best will have done him any harm whatsoever.

Imagine if he’d have been at Sheffield Utd during last season. Now that would have made his confidence dip…

Snowflake central around here.

7.) 14 Aug 2021 15:20:48
No ones saying it’s a grand evil scheme apart from you.
The reasons why he didn’t play are varied I’d imagine and unknown.
But there’s no way he joined the club in the knowledge that his playing time would be extremely limited/ non existent during a defensive crisis and then he was to be moved on months later.

8.) 14 Aug 2021 15:21:43
I can't take anyone who uses "snowflake" unironically seriously.

9.) 14 Aug 2021 15:59:14
Im sure when he signed he would have been thought of as a better option than Phillips and Williams, he would have thought the same thing himself. Turns out for whatever reason he wasnt, who's fault (if there is actually any fault) is that exactly?

10.) 14 Aug 2021 16:57:01
I thought we had all moved on to a post ironic discourse where irony is seen as immature.

11.) 14 Aug 2021 17:25:35
It's a very short career. Getting a huge opportunity at Liverpool and not getting a chance to pull on the shirt would bother anyone

I'm not saying let's start a go fund me page but don't see the problem in wishing the lad well and saying it's a shame for him. What's wrong with that?

12.) 14 Aug 2021 23:04:28
Did he sign thinking he would be a starter? His choice.

13.) 15 Aug 2021 07:26:06
It's a good move for him. Sheffield United will be in the mix for promotion this season. He knew the situation when he signed and I bet it's been a fabulous experience for him having spent most of his career in the lower end of the league. Good luck to him!

{Ed001's Note - he has set his whole family up for life by joining Liverpool, got to train under some of the best coaches in the world, alongside some of the best players in the world. I really do not see how anyone can say it was a bad thing for him? He is now extremely wealthy both financially and in experience. He will have learnt so much from the coaching and being around top class players, you would expect him to have improved massively as a player due to it. If he has worked hard and listened, this should have made his career.}

06 Aug 2020 11:21:58
As an ex red with no club was wondering if you know what's going on with Daniel sturridges career at the moment? Any interest in him at all from england?

{Ed002's Note - Daniel Sturridge (S) Benevento will be playing in Serie A next season and want to add DS after losing out on Andre Schurrle.}

1.) 06 Aug 2020 13:23:37
Thanks ed.

2.) 06 Aug 2020 18:12:09
All the best to him. Always liked Studge.

Barcelona should sign him. Surely he'll do better than Martin Braithwaite. I swear that Studge and Suarez are telepathic together.

3.) 07 Aug 2020 09:35:43
"Let's just hand over 20 million to Norwich"

In case anyone has been living under a rock for the last 5 months, a quick recap:

Clubs are bleeding money, are firing staff left and right, and struggling to pay salaries to their players. Many clubs are facing bankruptcy. Some well known clubs have put their entire squad up for sale.

This is not a drill. I repeat. This is not a drill.

4.) 07 Aug 2020 13:38:08
Seems you got the wrong thread, 67 mate.

Benevento would be a fun move for Studge and a nicer place to live.
He should score goals for them in Serie A, but mostly I just love their crest with the witch riding a broomstick. :)

12 Dec 2018 17:09:46
Matip out for 6 weeks with broken collar bone apparently.

Lovren and van djik need to stay fit then! i was actually really impressed with him last night too. hopefully trent and milner are okay.

1.) 12 Dec 2018 17:41:00
When did that happen? He played the full 90. we’re getting injuries at the wrong time.

2.) 12 Dec 2018 17:56:30
Testing times but I have confidence in Klopp to find the right fix. I’d love to see Fab have a game at RB, I know it’s not his preferred position but he plays it well enough for Brazil for me to want to have a look. Trent has the potent to be as flexible on the pitch as Millie so now could be his chance to fill some boots.

3.) 12 Dec 2018 18:47:04
I think it is to his credit he played for 90 minutes. Also he has played well in the last few games so will be a loss to the squad. Just hope Trent or Milner are fit.

4.) 12 Dec 2018 19:08:34
Wheres Klaven when you need him! :, (.

5.) 12 Dec 2018 18:47:04
I think it is to his credit he played for 90 minutes. Also he has played well in the last few games so will be a loss to the squad. Just hope Trent or Milner are fit.

6.) 12 Dec 2018 20:58:51
Do we have any of the u23s ready to step up if needs be? I don’t know enough about the players out side of the first team squad?

7.) 12 Dec 2018 21:51:54
I think Wijnaldum played cb last season?

8.) 12 Dec 2018 22:55:40
wouldn't be surprised of natty Phillips gets drafted in, klopp seemed to like him in pre season ed01 you think he could step up in a premier league game? Obvs not against United but the next game?

9.) 12 Dec 2018 22:59:41
What about Nat Phillips? he looked good in preseason.

10.) 12 Dec 2018 23:24:26
Kman, I think this happened right on the final whistle.

11.) 13 Dec 2018 00:11:38
Yeah Shents. It was his last aerial challenge with Koulibaly which was literally as the last whistle was going.

12.) 13 Dec 2018 00:16:23
So annoying when players that we wrote off start performing then they get injured, is it really then their fault when they go through those dead spells? Lallana, moreno, studge, matip.

13.) 13 Dec 2018 13:08:20
You have to feel for him, time on bench seemed to have elevated his game.

Hi Ed, I know we have interest in sarr from Watford but Dennis has been there standout player this season and I'm sure he is attracting interest from elsewhere. Do you know how is interested?

{Ed002's Note - He only joined a few months ago and they would not be looking to sell.}

1.) 14 Dec 2021 18:59:16
Hes had 2 or 3 half decent games? Sarr is far better and proven over seasons buddy.

2.) 15 Dec 2021 00:24:15
doing business with Watford would not suit the FSG.

3.) 15 Dec 2021 12:41:04
Bit of motd fever I admit, he's second behind salah for most goal involvements in the league, if Watford go down I'm sure many would take a punt on him if he keeps this up.

08 Dec 2021 13:19:00
If Tyler morton is able to develop physically over the next year or 2 I think we could have a very tidy player on our hands. Seems to read the game well for someone so young and doesn't panic, technically very good. Really nice to see the young players given a chance to perform.

1.) 08 Dec 2021 13:39:19
No could about it mate we HAVE a very tidy player on our hands.

2.) 08 Dec 2021 14:02:34
Exactly Baz, what does he need to develop? He just needs experience as he already seems to be a very mature very talented player.

3.) 08 Dec 2021 14:21:05
The Morton kid has the footballing ability already. That is the hard part, IMO. All the other stuff like experience, physical development and overall player management, can be worked on as that is the much easier stuff. I just hope as many of our kids make it at LFC long term. That is my main hope.

4.) 08 Dec 2021 14:50:48
The OP is half right in fairness. Morton just needs to fill out more physically and it's 100% job done👍.

5.) 08 Dec 2021 16:02:05
If he develops akin to trent then IMO it's bissouma who? Save the money spend it elsewhere.

6.) 08 Dec 2021 16:40:12
By the January transfer window Morton will be forgotten about as the same old faces scream that this team NEEDS Bissouma or whoever the media flavour of the month is at that point.
Morton played against Milan with a maturity that belied his tender years. He is a tremendous prospect, but unfortunately that's not as glamorous as signing Carlos Kickaballski for £100 million.

7.) 08 Dec 2021 16:17:16
What I don’t understand and maybe ed001 can enlighten us on this: why kids like moreton and Gordon and musialowski aren’t doing proper gym sessions to develop them physically so that when they get to this point they already have the physicality. For me the best youngsters who flourish the quickest have that even if it’s not muscle but that core strength even the likes of sterling had as a 17 year old.

{Ed001's Note - because you have to be careful until a kid's body is ready. They are still children.}

8.) 08 Dec 2021 19:11:18
May be my old age but didn’t Gerard have issues with injuries early in his first team career because he hadn’t fully developed physically?

9.) 08 Dec 2021 19:10:16
Didn’t Carragher once say in an interview that when Sterling broke into the first team he was so weak compared to the rest of the first team players that when he took a shot you thought it wouldn’t even have the power to reach the goal?

I played a lot of rugby as a kid, and as a result was in the gym constantly. Even a “strong” 18 year old isn’t a fully developed man. Give the Liverpool kiddies some time and they will grow and become more physical!

(NB also - you don’t want to over train the kids while they are still going through puberty etc! )

Red Sandman.

10.) 08 Dec 2021 19:33:18
Exactly Ed001 it's only in the last few months that my body has matured too that of a dormound volcano 🌋.

11.) 08 Dec 2021 23:24:02
He seems a player that fits our system very well. Reads the game really well, is very tidy on the ball and looks after possession under pressure brilliantly.
He doesn’t look the most creative player but that could just be because he’s trying to keep it simple and not make mistakes early in his career. Our midfielders don’t tend to be very creative anyway it’s more about ball winning and ball retention.
One to watch and one I’m really looking forward to seeing develop.

12.) 09 Dec 2021 08:46:38
Yeah I agree. How dare people talk about transfers on a transfer site. I’ve still not forgiven Klopp for signing Salah, Mane and Jota and stumping Brewsters and Solanke’s opportunities 🙄.

13.) 09 Dec 2021 08:49:01
I thought he did a very tidy job as the Dm last night. Then after Fabinho came on he moved higher up he put a great pass to through showing a good eye for the pass. Do have to take into account how awful AC was before everybody is wanting Morton to run before he can walk.

13 Nov 2021 09:12:59
Was thinking about the squad and in particular Divock Origi. Origi seems to really split opinion and I understand why, he has everything top forward needs, quick, big, strong, good feet good finisher it just doesn't seem to come together for him.

I was having a conversation with my brother and we were in agreement that one of his greatest strengths is also a weakness. He is so laid back, whilst this means when he gets a chance he doesn't flap or bottle it, allowing him to excel in the big games. it means he often lacks urgency. He's guilty of not committing to the press or busting a gut to get on the end of a chance. This isn't due to a lack of professionalism or love for the club imo, its just his personality. Perhaps why he's often better off the bench when the team needs a goal.

Ed1/ fellow posters what's your thoughts on him? Would you let him go or keep him around the squad? Whatever happens he will be fondly remembered and will have a role to play this season.

{Ed001's Note - if he is happy to stay and play a bit part role, I think you have to keep him, unless we need the money.}

1.) 13 Nov 2021 09:57:22
I think Ed001 has said numerous times, for a guy his soze, he doesn't throw it about very well. He's probably too nice!

{Ed001's Note - it is a shame, he has all the talent in the world but needs to be more aggressive with it.}

2.) 13 Nov 2021 09:59:33
100% sell him, tell me another top 12 team he starts regularly for at best and then tell me a top 4 team he’ll get into.

3.) 13 Nov 2021 10:20:17
Hard to sell him if nobody wants him though or as has been stated by Ed002 that we over price him. Also he seems well settled in the area, does a lot of charity work around Liverpool along with his scholarship programme at the University.

4.) 13 Nov 2021 10:22:56
I'd want him to stay personally but it all goes on what he wants. Couldn't blame the lad if he wanted out.

5.) 13 Nov 2021 12:05:33
I’m fully in camp sell origi but I don’t think we live in the world where we can. So we sell him and get £15m then we have to replace them for what £30/ 40m? So there’s £15m of a budget we don’t have going on a backup striker who might play carabo cup games and during an injury crisis. So that’s £15m plus less that we get to spend on a midfielder that we actually need. Also div isn’t causing any problems not playing and maybe the new guy would.

{Ed002's Note - He is a Free Agent in the summer and able to talk with non-English and Welsh clubs from January.}

6.) 13 Nov 2021 12:33:33
Pretty sure Origi is contracted until 2024 Ed002. Didn't he sign a 5 year deal after the UCL win in 2019?

{Ed002's Note - Two years of that is an option.}

7.) 13 Nov 2021 12:59:06
He’s too soft all that size and doesn’t use it! As I said the other day Atalanta’s duvan throwing players around and being a bully! sadly Origi is just to nice and soft he hasn’t got it In his locker should of been sold after the CL league when his stock was high!
Again nottin against the lad I like him but we can’t be keeping lads just because they are nice and sound! Just my opinion!

8.) 13 Nov 2021 13:03:23
Origi os going to have his best chance in years to lay his marker in January when the Afcon is on and the same applies for Mino.

Origi has given us some great moments in the past including his 2 goals against Barca. This season I seen an article saying he should be starting as he had 3 goals and 2 assists in 7 games. But most of those have come in the league cup against poorer opposition.

I thought he took his goal fantastically last weekend and it could be used as a moment to kick start his league season.

Amazingly his goal last weekend against West Ham marks his first goal off the bench in 43 games and his first since the Champions League final winning goal back in June 2019.

So as good an option as people say he is off the bench 1 goal in 43 needs to be massively improved on if the club are looking to keep him on around 100k a week.

9.) 13 Nov 2021 12:49:49
We should keep him. He does well when he comes on and he can be a handful when he’s in the penalty box. He reminds me of John Toshack, looking like he might fall over at any moment but somehow keeping hold of the ball. And like Tosh, he knows where the goal is. No need at all to sell him.

10.) 13 Nov 2021 15:29:30
I wouldn’t sell him just to buy someone to replace him who will only warm the bench and have limited minutes.
But if we had a young striker coming through who could easily take his place in the squad then yeah he would have to go.

11.) 13 Nov 2021 15:41:17
JK23, 43 off the bench, but most of them have been for 10.mins or less, or when the game is already won and not looking for goals.

12.) 13 Nov 2021 15:52:30
Just to clarify Ed002. This 2 year option? This is something the club can take up? I also assume that they aren't keen on taking up the 2 year option, given as you say he can talk to non English clubs in a few months time? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, the club has an option. They need to decide now and talk with the player.}

13.) 13 Nov 2021 16:20:39
Waitisover. 100% get that mate. But what does that tell us about Klopps thoughts on him. I might not be in a position to comment on whether a player is good enough for us. But Klopp is.

14.) 13 Nov 2021 17:58:04
Unless Origi wants to go then he'll be staying.
As someone has already mentioned, eventually his place will probably be taken by an up and coming youngster when they're ready.
Origi loves the club, Klopp loves Origi. It's only fans with transfer fever that want to see him moved on so another face can come in to spend time on the bench.

15.) 13 Nov 2021 18:29:31
So is the likelihood Origi will leave on a Bosman in the summer?

{Ed002's Note - It is up to the club.}

16.) 13 Nov 2021 19:04:20
I hope he doesn’t leave as some of the Karen’s will fall of their high horses in shock.

17.) 13 Nov 2021 20:17:58
Could see him going to Aston Villa.

18.) 14 Nov 2021 17:05:59
Spot on, Flash. Origi loves the club, the fans and is settled in the city. He has accepted his role on the team and Klopp is clearly not going to run him out of the club and neither are the club cos they keep pricing him out of potential moves. Origi won’t leave just cos people repeatedly whine about it.

Hence, if his detractors have beef with Origi, you are barking up the wrong tree. I propose you aim your ire elsewhere as none of us can make the club nor the player do anything they don’t want to do. For me, Origi stays or goes, I’m not bothered. Not in the least bit.

24 Mar 2021 19:50:44
Read a few reports linking us with fekir, have Liverpool retained am interest? I remember everyone seemed to think this was a done deal in the summer of 2019 before he signed for betis.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect someone is teasing you.}

1.) 25 Mar 2021 08:59:29
Thanks mate. Seemed to be a bit far fetched. Enjoy your day.

2.) 25 Mar 2021 09:09:58
OP, that is SO, SO 2018. It is a slow news week due to int'l footie. You'll get thru it.

3.) 24 Mar 2021 22:20:41
it was in the echo. they print anything.

4.) 25 Mar 2021 20:41:55
It's really not like me to ask about random report as j usually write them off but Oilred might have a point. Currently watching England cruising and it's putting me to sleep. I just can't get invested in international football.

17 Feb 2021 17:19:38
Hi ed, do you only do the match reviews for league games or will you be doing one for the Leipzig game? Appreciate you might not have the time but I know I'm not the only one who enjoys reading them.

{Ed001's Note - I only do them for the Prem mate. Sorry.}

1.) 17 Feb 2021 19:15:48
No worries mate, hopefully you have the chance to a positive one after the Derby!

I would have preferred the rule be the additional 2 substitutions be youth players or under a certain age to encourage giving youngsters a chance but still able to rest players. Win win for everyone that way but probably a bit naive.

Hsf, I believe the op referred to the conditions of the add-ons being achievable rather than the amount of money involved. Meaning we will likely have to pay all potential add ons at some point.

Am I right in thinking that he is out of contract in the summer? If so it's more plausible as we don't have the money to spend big. If he magically develops some end product he will be a good addition but a risk.

Not sure it's the same thing at all mk. He can make 11 changes at half time and mangage the players minutes how they want and play youth players without consequences. I actually am not sure your comment was meant ironically or not. The intensity can also be managed ans used to help players fitness rather than hinder it.

The worst thing is its the same every year. I'm sure the eds understand that the majority of us are appreciative of the site and thr info they provide but it must be so frustrating/ tedious dealing with the petty abuse and point scoring. It's a free fantastic site that I have learned a lot from and the fact some grown men feel the need to give abuse or complain just boggles the mind. My message to those that do is grow the f up.

Guaye was more than happy to wear chang and a betting company sponsors when playing in the Premier league so going against his religious beliefs is not an excuse if he cared that much he wouldn't have worn sponsor's that went against his faith. He's clearly just a homophobic a##ehole.

My opinion on it is that all the best players have a tinge of arrogance. With Mo a desire to be the best seems to be what drives him. You can see he's hungry for team and individual success. As long as it doesn't negatively impact his work rate on and off the pitch I couldn't care less, but I think it helps rather than hinders him.

Virgil being outperformed? Only reason you think that is because he is less involved because the opposition try their best to avoid going near him for the 90 minutes. Attackers don't even try taking him on anymore.
