Ed002 I read your responses yesterday, but numerous sources are reporting LFC had an offer rejected for Caicedo yesterday, is that true?
Like I said after Boxing Day, I was told by a contact that Caicedo is not considered an option for January and that we would be looking for a loan to buy option maybe? Any ideas who that might be, or who we have scoured that might be available on loan?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool making an oiffer for Caicedo regardless of what your numerous sources are saying. And I am pretty certain they didn't. Why would Liverpool make an offer if all they want is a loan to buy? Why would Brighton be interested in a loan of any type? Why can't Liverpool do business like other clubs?}

Transfer fever takes hold.

No more transfers this window. Business done. Klopp pretty much confirmed yesterday. What do you mean Ed, why can't liverpool do business like other clubs? Gapko transfer looked pretty standard to me. What's different?

{Ed002's Note - Other clubs don't look to cheat.}

Ed says he expects more incomings, so that’s good enough for me. We will probably buy a gk!

How do we look to cheat? Enlighten us.

{Ed002's Note - You are joking? It is rife and runs through the club and has done for years. Start with the tapping up of players - illegal approaches by Klopp. Is that a good start? Henry, Werner and others apologised to the MLB clubs for cheating in 2018 and accepted the loss of a second round draft pick and the suspension of an employee for the 2020 season.

Social cleansing of the Anfield area with Liverpool buying property and leaving it empty for years and persuading the Council to use Compulsory Purchase Orders to purchase the rest. After lying to the Council about their consulation with the locals about the plans for Anfield there was a delay and the two phased approach decided. In February 2020 Liverpool took out a mortgage on all assets (the Freehold and leasehold of Anfield and about 90 properties (some of which were obtained CPO) with the charge held by Natwest. The club have made a number of serious decisions that have led to financial issues - such as putting the full €160M due for Coutinho in the accounts and then borrowed against the debt (by Selling it at a lower cost) and spending it. Liverpool then needed to make a correction to reflect the actual amount that will be paid by Barcelona. Reliance has been placed on end of season income to pay for transfer fees that have been spread over long periods.

Jay Spearing incident.

Statement to the Premier League in 2020.

Van Dijk tapping up.

Manchester City did Liverpool a favour by not pressing The FA to continue their investigation in to the hacking - but this was after Liverpool paid a very significant amount from their "slush" fund that they use to pay clubs, and in one case, an individual off with. The constant buying off of indescretions remains a concern to The FA but the matter is closed from their standpoint.

Stoke kiddie - The club also screwed up the career of a 12 year old boy leaving his parents in debt. Fa ns seemed proud of the transfer ban?

The clown like persona of the coach is slipping as his arrogance is now being seen in his hypocrisy.

The tapping up of a Chelsea player.

The tapping up of Werner and Tchouameni.

I could go on.}

If we genuinely asked Brighton for Caicedo on loan to buy, then I’m shaking my head at both the arrogance and stupidity of it. Paul Joyce has also reported that there’s no more incomings this window, as journalists go, he’s very reliable. If that is true, then I can only assume that either FSG don’t want us to qualify for the champions league or they haven’t watched us this season, particularly last night. I genuinely think some of you who have been kidding yourselves that Bellingham will be signing are going to be in for a very rude awakening in the summer if FSG still have any control of the club. If they won’t release the purse strings when we’re in the sh** right now, they’re certainly not going to do it for Bellingham.

What odds of another last minute trolly dash in the last few days of January and wasting money on someone entirely rubbish, like we did with Kabak, Davies or Arthur?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool making any offer to Brighton for the player.}

Any news on how that paragon of virtue Abramovich is doing these days Ed02? Presumably he’s doing humanitarian works in eastern Ukraine? It’s a silly game to start throwing stones.

{Ed002's Note - I understand he is doing just fine and of course he gifted the Chelsea hotel to the NHS to let staff from Charing Cross Hospital use it whilst in lockdown. He attempted to negotiate a settlement between Russia and the Ukraine which obviously came to nothing but did manage to negotiate the exchange of prisoners that saw the release of five British prisoners from Russian captivity that he flew back to safety. Where you know absolutely nothing it is better to say nother rather than make yourself look a complete glifnard.}

Thanks for that lol. which Chelsea player did we tap up? So. not really cheating then ?????.

{Ed002's Note - Dominic Solanke.}

I don’t buy all this not signing anyone else this window it’s glaringly obvious that we need a midfield I get our main target isn’t available until the summer but whether we get Bellingham or not others are needed . 1st half yesterday was awful hendo in the 6 was non existent and Harvey Elliot was like the invisible man out of possession . Harvey has much to learn . I do get not buying for the sake of it but I’d say in this case someone is better than no one as I can’t remember a worse midfield performance for years . Thiago had a decent game to be fair but legs and energy are needed.

So "don't buy just for the sake of it" but we need to "buy for the sake of it"?
Very compelling argument.

31 Dec 2022 11:09:14
Come on flash
You know we need someone in midfield as much as I do mate . It’s beginning to look a bit silly even virg when questioned last night about the the lack of help in front of the defence asked not to speak about that right now . It was embarrassing at times . So yeah let’s buy this jan before it gets worse.

31 Dec 2022 11:11:36
Not sure we can be holding Abramovich up as some kind of paragon of virtue seeing that him and his oligarch buddies have been enabling Putin's murderous regime for years. But yeah, Liverpool have done some slightly shady transfer deals.

We need to post my Reply about Hendo’s amazing charity work.

{Ed001's Note - nothing came through that I can see mark.}

13.) 31 Dec 2022
31 Dec 2022 11:30:40
It’s a very one sided narrative to say the club is full of cheats and people who only do bad things.

Hendo, our captain does more for charity and the underprivileged than anyone in the game. If you knew about the unseen work him and his family do in Sunderland then your narrative would be more balanced.

{Ed002's Note - Nobody has suggested that Henderson has done anything wrong. Many footballers do much for charity. It does not change the situation at Liverpool.}

If money is tight and we all realise a midfielder was needed/ wanted more than any other position then the signing of young Gakpo is a strange one. I don't believe for one second we're done, Klopp himself said in August he "was wrong".

15.) 31 Dec 2022

WDW in the real world we all know the truth don’t worry mate.

17.) 31 Dec 2022
31 Dec 2022 12:26:50
Ed02, I thought Liverpool FC had cleaned up its act, but your assessment made for grim reading, especially the tapping up of Tchouameni, as that would have been fairly recent. I thought the club may have learnt by now.

{Ed002's Note - It was in the summer. Klopp flew the South of France to meet him in Monaco without the knowledge of his club.}

18.) 31 Dec 2022
31 Dec 2022 12:35:34
Got to love the irony the amount of people won’t hear a bad word said about the club from ed2 but then go and slate everything to do with our playing staff week in week out.

19.) 31 Dec 2022
31 Dec 2022 12:52:05
Im thinking that FSG is too lenient about all this issues and peoples at the club are taking advantages with it.

Or maybe they just don't care about it. Red Sox did get into troubles for cheating few years back. Somehow show that FSG dint really care about all this stuff.

As for Klopp, Tchouameni is recent. It just show that he didn't learn at all. As great as he is, all this illegal tapping up is no good.

Somehow hoping that a new owner will come in and be more strict regarding all this cheating issues and we can act like a proper club ED2. Otherwise it will reflect poorly for us as a club.

31 Dec 2022 12:56:34
Dhfc it's pretty clear that midfield needs bolstering. But "just buy a body to fill the gap" isn't the right approach. Fans might suffer from transfer fever or be panicking but I doubt anyone connected to the club's transfers is.
Right player at the right price or seek from what we already have.

21.) 31 Dec 2022
31 Dec 2022 13:48:23
Flash I said someone not just a body obviously I don’t mean any body they have to be better than what we have . I get your point but I think you’ve misunderstood mine I’m not saying let’s get Wes hoolahan in on loan . But someone that’s as good as what we’ve got to help to the end of season as I was wincing at the tele at times last night it was that tough a watch . Anyway I’m convinced theirs money their for the right players.

22.) 31 Dec 2022
31 Dec 2022 16:34:00
I don't doubt there's money available either. But the right players might not be. In which case Klopp will do what he normally does, keep his powder dry while seeking answers from within.

23.) 31 Dec 2022
31 Dec 2022 17:21:49
I shall be careful with my words (though I’ll probably get a verbal hiding nonetheless) as I realise the disdain Ed002 holds towards certain forms of cheating (maybe all? ) . I personally find diving, time wasting and professional fouls worse forms of cheating, but that’s just me.

I do wonder the mechanism for arranging a meeting with a player and why, if it can become relatively common knowledge that such a meeting took place, that more doesn’t come from it. If it is perceived to be so severe, where are the severe punishments? Do agents of both parties get punished as well, because I sincerely doubt Klopp has Tchouameni’s number and then that the player turns up without his agent?

This is not designed to be a justification, just more of a point of discussion. If someone came to chat to one of our players, for example, i wouldn’t be that fussed. I just expect it to be common place.

{Ed002's Note - Agents get held responsible too and are subject to punishment. An example would be Jonathan Barnett over Ashley Cole.}
