Today we didn't get out of the blocks from the start, we sat back and we gave utd far too much space and allowed their creative players to play, once the momentum had shifted over to utd the system rogers employs became nullified, we didn't muster a shot on goal until about the 31st minute. Rogers should have seen the problems and corrected it earlier, ie lucas for allen can into midfield with toure in defence. In the second half a change was made not by choice but through injury. sturridge throughout the whole game was isolated up front due to the absence of our playmakers, bringing ballotelli on (my opinion) was a big mistake, he should have used lambert who would have been more effective, mainly because he would have played football and not just played the nuisance. rogers again seems to be blindsided by his own mistakes he cannot see them and therefore cannot rectify them. If we have lost out on cl place then in my view being the manager he has to take full responsibility for the failings. there are only 8 games left and kenny won a cup but didn't make 4th spot, so even if we win the fa cup finishing below 4th has to spell the end. sorry for the long post

Agree with your post in parts. Teams have figured us out and if we don't act fast to rectify this, we will be out of top four for sure.

Morning Eds, can you tell me who is leading the golden glove at the moment please.

booboo2014

{Ed002's Note - Fraser Forster with Simon Mignolet and Ben Foster tied second one behind him.}

1.) 22 Mar 2015 09:54:40
I'd have Forster to compete with our current keeper.

{Ed002's Note - You won't be surprised to know that it won't happen Davey.}

2.) 22 Mar 2015 12:40:02
Mingo tied second, well done to the lad who had to suffer a lot of abuse from the fans here and put up with the humiliation of his manager publicly saying he is dropped indefinitely. Not to mention in the first half of the season he had to keep goal behind a shaky defence that was tinkered with constantly with shocking defensive tactics or lack of.

3.) 22 Mar 2015 15:51:38
Forster is an aweful keeper and always has been. He has a good defensive system that keeps him protected. Each time he has had to do his job, he's been dodgy at it most of the time. Mingo over him everyday of the week.

what a massive win today, thought the whole team played well. the commentators did seem to single out lovren at the start but i felt as the game moved on he grew in confidence. (dont think he will play once sakho is fit) Allen again has been a scapegoat on this site but i felt he had one of those games where it all worked out, both defensive and attacking. sterling played his heart out. cout was just amazing from first whistle to last. and hendo (my view probably not everyones) showed why he will take the mantle from gerrard.i did think sturridge should have been on earlier but heyho i'm a fan and the brodge was correct in his subs at the right time. we now need to carry the momentum into wed when we face a tough tie at burnley.

eds, you have been correct in your view that we won't spend unless we sell in this window, i can only guess youll be right about what happens come the end of the season regarding rodgers/new manager. what i would like to ask though is if a new manager is deemed the way forward, do you expect him to get a fair sized transfer kitty or will he have to make do and mend. thanks

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool's finances are a real mess right now with vast debt and more to be taken on with respect to the stadium. Liverpool cannot rebuild every season. Due to the failings of the manger Liverpool has a large number of surplus players that can be used to raise the funds for perhaps a GK, midfield player and a striker.}

1.) Eds I know you don't like to talk on finances, ..............

Baz

{Ed002's Note - It is not worth getting in to Baz. It will result in a lot more confused Liverpool supporters.}

2.) Sorry and further more to that post eds, keep up the good work. I know that the owners are sometimes the brunt of fans anger but its clear to see that they have the clubs interests in their thoughts but need someone to assist them in making the right football decisions. . don't you fancy sending your CV in for the job?

Baz

{Ed002's Note - Unfortunately I don't have the time Baz. Perhaps when I retire.}

3.) Eds thanks for the answer. only just got in and read it. going off your reply do you think we could get a new manager knowing he basically has nothing to spend.

{Ed002's Note - He can raise funds by selling players.}

4.) 02 Feb 2015 12:16:09
I was thinking about that last night Ed002.
To be honest if we got rid of a few players in my opinion the 3 positions you mentioned are the only ones that need to be filled.

{Ed002's Note - They look like the priorities. The club do need to make some decisions ahead of next season. The need to comply with FFP going forward will be critical. There will be at the very least a slap on the wrist and a strongly worded letter to Liverpool if they qualify for Europe. And if they don't they still need to comply with the future in mind. Fortunately they have a bunch of decent youngsters waiting for a chance and a Origi to arrive. Whilst decisions need to be made over Teixeira and Ilori, most of the rest of the loanees seem surplus to requirements (Coates, Aspas, Paez, Alberto etc.) and some money can be recouped by selling them. I would think the plan would be to bring Wisdom in to the squad - that may spell the end for Manquillo. The likes of Balotelli, Lambert etc. can again be sold. So I think that sensibly a GK, MF and a striker will be the priority.}

5.) Amen.
