eds, you have been correct in your view that we won't spend unless we sell in this window, i can only guess youll be right about what happens come the end of the season regarding rodgers/new manager. what i would like to ask though is if a new manager is deemed the way forward, do you expect him to get a fair sized transfer kitty or will he have to make do and mend. thanks

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool's finances are a real mess right now with vast debt and more to be taken on with respect to the stadium. Liverpool cannot rebuild every season. Due to the failings of the manger Liverpool has a large number of surplus players that can be used to raise the funds for perhaps a GK, midfield player and a striker.}

Eds I know you don't like to talk on finances, ..............

Baz

{Ed002's Note - It is not worth getting in to Baz. It will result in a lot more confused Liverpool supporters.}

Sorry and further more to that post eds, keep up the good work. I know that the owners are sometimes the brunt of fans anger but its clear to see that they have the clubs interests in their thoughts but need someone to assist them in making the right football decisions. . don't you fancy sending your CV in for the job?

Baz

{Ed002's Note - Unfortunately I don't have the time Baz. Perhaps when I retire.}

Eds thanks for the answer. only just got in and read it. going off your reply do you think we could get a new manager knowing he basically has nothing to spend.

{Ed002's Note - He can raise funds by selling players.}

I was thinking about that last night Ed002.
To be honest if we got rid of a few players in my opinion the 3 positions you mentioned are the only ones that need to be filled.

{Ed002's Note - They look like the priorities. The club do need to make some decisions ahead of next season. The need to comply with FFP going forward will be critical. There will be at the very least a slap on the wrist and a strongly worded letter to Liverpool if they qualify for Europe. And if they don't they still need to comply with the future in mind. Fortunately they have a bunch of decent youngsters waiting for a chance and a Origi to arrive. Whilst decisions need to be made over Teixeira and Ilori, most of the rest of the loanees seem surplus to requirements (Coates, Aspas, Paez, Alberto etc.) and some money can be recouped by selling them. I would think the plan would be to bring Wisdom in to the squad - that may spell the end for Manquillo. The likes of Balotelli, Lambert etc. can again be sold. So I think that sensibly a GK, MF and a striker will be the priority.}
