Really enjoyed the discussion on all time greatest manager the other day. How about current managers, who is the best of those still in the game?

ake

{Ed001's Note - that is much harder. It is much easier to judge them with hindsight.}

1.) 21 Feb 2016 11:42:05
Mourinho and Pep would not make it anywhere near my top 10, can tell you that much.

2.) 22 Feb 2016 15:12:56
I would have to put del bosque up there ake, won la liga, champions league, european championship and the world cup a very impressive haul any manager would be proud to have that on there cv. also lippi and Fabio cappello with that ac milan side of the early 90s are worth a mention.

Hi ed's!
Got anything on a possible Dof for Liverpool?
Or are we even considering hiring on?

ake

{Ed001's Note - why would we?}

Just a rumor that I read somewhere.
But guessing that's all it was. Thanks for the answer.

Hi Ed'1! All well I hope. What makes you so positive to the signing of O'Driscoll? Would love to hear your tough.

ake

{Ed001's Note - read this: why I am positive/a about O'Driscoll.}

1.) 06 Jul 2015 16:44:09
What a great read, i'm quite excited about this season if some of those concepts are implemented. However as a regular player/coach of another team sport i also know you can tell certain players till your blue in the face about communication and they still end up with there head down using amazing powers of tunnel vision when it comes to game time and the pressures on. Skrtel would be one of those players probably.

2.) 06 Jul 2015 17:30:09
Who is tris Burke? I'm pretty sure I read an article by him on Nuri sahin a few days back how saying he is the complete midfielder and will be a huge success at liverpool. ?

{Ed001's Note - you defo did not read that right, Ed052 is the one who said that. The profile has two separate parts mate.}

3.) 06 Jul 2015 23:16:03
Thanks for the link ed, good to get an insight. One of my friends has been a donny season ticket holder for years and has always claimed that o'driscoll could coach a top team, let's just hope he can get his ideas across.

Would love to hear ed1's opinion on how the club is currently being managed. Ed2 seems to have great insight on the club and she has not got a lot of good things to say of it. Problems with economy and bad transfer policy! And even though we have good young players at the club they are not given a chance Ilori, Alberto and Suso for example. Is BR the right man for the job, I'm starting to have my doubts?

ake

{Ed001's Note - I am not happy with the way the club is being run. It is not just Brendan Rodgers at fault though. The transfer policy, it is a shambles and completely negates the point in spending huge sums developing young players. Then there is the committee itself, it is never a good idea to have a committee making decisions, they always end up being a compromise. Then there is Rodgers and his coaching staff, in particular Achteberg. They are fine at improving the technique of players, but they are not improving positioning or decision making. The teamwork is lacking between players, that is a major worry as some have played together for years but don't have an understanding of each other's game. That has to be laid at the door of the coaching staff. The defensive woes, again the coaching, what are they doing there? Is no one teaching basics of defending???}

1.) More importnatly is Ed2 a she or a he. I see constant references here to both genders. Just curius not that it really matter or that I dream of getting a concrete honest answer on that.

2.) Thanks for the quick answer. Do you think that BR is given one last chance let's say if he agrees to work under an DFO or is FSG already looking for a new manager? If they are do you got any names like an short list? If you could choose any won who would it be, realistic that is?

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts - there are hundreds on the subject.}

Ed001
Spot on. Can we get you onto the board.

4.) 07 Jan 2015 20:42:19
Football at that level is about positioning, marking, runs, and tactics. All players are technically proficent at that point (yes even Andy Carroll) but the difference is the movement and positioning of the players that push them over the top of lower divison players. Sad really if that's the case ed1.

5.) Which is the job of the coaching staff who by all accounts, are either too incompetent or unwilling to coach up the players on positioning, tracking of runs, timing of headers on set-pieces and defending as a team.

6.) What is ed001s solution to the problem. Stick with Brendan or appoint somebody else.

{Ed001's Note - a complete revamp of the whole club, including a change of manager.}

7.) Thanks for the quick answer. Do you think that BR is given one last chance let's say if he agrees to work under an DFO or is FSG already looking for a new manager? If they are do you got any names like an short list? If you could choose any won who would it be, realistic that is?

{Ed001's Note - I don't believe Rodgers would agree to it anyway. They are interested in a few people, AVB and De Boer are of interest. Personally I would say the DoF was the priority, then pick who would work best with the man given that role.}

Do the owners have a plan ED? Short or Long term? Personally I think it's a complete mess. From being on the brink of Liverpool history last year,, and to go sell the best striker in the world. That for one doesn't make sense seeing as we was so close. Then the players brought in? Not one world class or potentially world class player? And then Changed the entire shape and identity of the team,, I could've understood had we sold Suarez and brought in say Sanchez. Like for Like (even though Luis obviously miles better) Stuck with the same formation ect.
I honestly don't think anyone has any idea what's going on from top to bottom.
I'm not normally interested in finances ect, but I go the games regularly and have done for a long long time, very worried about our club mate

{Ed001's Note - they are having a review of the club done to put a plan in place. We did try to bring in Sanchez, but he was not interested in a move to us.}

9.) 08 Jan 2015 05:32:29
Ed002 has his/ her own reasons for not discussing his/ her gender and we need to respect his/ her wishes. If that's what she wants i'm fine with that

Really like to hear eds(1&2)and other fans opinion on the way Liverpool is heading; is fsg the right owners for lfc, do we got the right manager in BR too take us too the top?

Personally I like the way Fsg work and learn from their mistakes as they go along. Even if they look to sell Lfc with a profit at some point the have to "make us better" to do so.

For me the coming season is what defines BR. Really hope he can keep us in top 4-5.
He and the comity need to more accurate in the transfer market. Can't keep buying players like Aspas and Alberto that don't just fit the in the team or the Pl.
Finally we keep on missing out on quit a few transfer targets. Is this because our poor negotiation skills or do players just don't want to sign for us?

ake

{Ed002's Note - I have said all along that the owners are working hard to do the right thing. They have a plan for the stadium now and they will look for commercial deals to bring money in and this will involve naming rights. They have no endeared themselves to the boards of other European sides terribly well, but that is part of their learning curve. They have been surprised at the cost of running the club and they will be pleased to be rid of Suarez. At this time their investment and the debt is beyond the value of the club, and they must address that. Brendan Rodgers is a generally well respect coach who is still learning and us wiling to continue to do so. He has learned to speak at the appropriate times and to try to avoid saying dub things. He is ambitious and one day wants to manage Barcelona or Real Madrid. Next season will be interesting and perhaps more challenging than last season. The critical target will be to get top four again.}
