I remember players such as Luis Garcia penning letters to the fans after they left. Has there been any word from Couts about his former club?
Maybe too early to expect anything but would hope that he still holds some good memories of the five years he spent here. Don't know how much making him stay in the summer will have soured his feelings towards us. I'm not being needy here but I still believe in YNWA and I feel he has been part of the Liverpool family. We fans put our hearts into the club and feel happy if players can reciprocate in some small way. Do the Ed's know how he feels about the club now?

I have read he has said something along the lines of us being in a good position to win trophies in the near future. He looks forward to seeing it and celebrating it. He only wanted Barca, wouldn't have left for any other club as he basically wants to play where Ronaldinho played and where Messi now plays. Hasn't said anything nasty about the club, manager from what I read, just outlining that this was his dream so good luck to him.
Hope we use the money wisely.

I remember reading the letter that Garcia penned as a farewell to the fans. It was such a class act and forever imortalised him as one of my all time favourite players.

Allow the boy some time to celebrate his move and the realization of his dreams (I will never begrudge him that) and let things die down before judging him. Btw, it is prolly too soon fr such letters as many fans are still losing their marbles over something we all knew would/ could happen.
Luis Suarez caused Ajax all types of problems (way more than Cou caused us) BUT returned there a season after and the fans gave him a standing ovation before a home game. Give the boy a chance, pls.

Thanks Kev. Good to know. Agree with the need to spend the money wisely. I feel that things are very different now as compared to when Suárez left. We are better strength in depth and hopefully won’t panic spend. I haven’t seen a bench with quality backup for a long long time.
