Agger has asked the club to listen to offers for him.

Lallana is now very close.

Thanks

Hey.

As you can see the Echo have reported something similar to what said yesterday regarding James Milner.

Just to reiterate we could potentially move for him, although I consider it extremely unlikely if we do get lallana.

Lallana is also edging closer, it wouldn't surprise me if it was completed this week.

Liverpool are expecting some kind of offer for Suarez this week, my understanding is that we won't sell.

Suarez has told everyone at the club that he is not leaving,
Although never say never with Suarez.

Hi ed001

Are you doing a match review?

Thanks

Josh.

SpacedJosh

{Ed001's Note - trying to, but the sites have been so insanely busy with the Liverpool game and Rangers sacking their manager, that I haven't had time to get it completed.}

1.) 03 Oct 2023 18:36:26
I think we need it as therapy ed1.

{Ed001's Note - I need therapy after the last few days!}

2.) 03 Oct 2023 20:31:01
May need to be lying with this match review. That's how long it will be, especially when it comes to the officials which aren't usually covered. Good Luck Ed.

{Ed001's Note - I can't get over what I just listened to with that audio. I have read the transcript too, but it still it just is not right.}

3.) 03 Oct 2023 20:44:08
Some people thought they might doctor the audio to suit. But are they this stupid because there's only one person who should ever being sitting in the VAR suite again.

Morning Eds.

First of all its good to see some positivity on here for once! seems like it has been lacking for the past few months!

Anyway i saw a few posts earlier alluding to the fact that Bacca is now our number 1 target in terms of a striker at least.

My question is, is it realistic we could actually get him? what wages would he want etc?

Thanks

SpacedJosh

{Ed001's Note - yes and no idea, nor do I even want to get into that.}

1.) 24 Jun 2015 10:46:37
Just a case of fingers crossed then i guess Ed? haha

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, I am not going to get excited that is for sure, I usually seem to have some kind of hoodoo on transfers. Though maybe Firmino signing is a sign that we are going to sign players a season after I want them to join?}

2.) 24 Jun 2015 11:29:16
LoL Ed001, can I request a few names for next season ???

{Ed001's Note - if it works I am all for it.}

3.) 24 Jun 2015 11:34:13
May I ask who you would personally prefer between Bacca and Benteke? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - there is no contest, Bacca is twice the player Benteke is right now.}

4.) 24 Jun 2015 11:34:51
So the question is did you want us to sign Bacca a year ago or are we out of luck?

Also if that was true surely we should be signing Medel anyday now? we can dream.

{Ed001's Note - ah good point, he was one of those I liked the look of as a decent signing last summer so it could still work. And Medel might count as the summer before, or even the one before that.}

5.) 24 Jun 2015 11:46:25
Didn't you want Messi to sign last season ed??maybe he's next 😉

{Ed001's Note - actually I think it was Neymar Jr.}

03 Jun 2015 16:54:39
Hi Ed001

What is yor best ever Liverpool XI?

Any formation you like, players from any era etc

I know you normally would not do something like this but, anything to take us away from the constant Rodgers posts!!

keep up the good work!

SpacedJosh

{Ed001's Note - it is a nice change!
Clemence.
Back four of Jones (though Nicol runs him close!), Smith, Hansen, Staunton.
Midfield of Callaghan, Souness, Alonso, Barnes.
Strikers have to be Fowler and Dalglish.

That was hard leaving out so many great players.}

1.) 03 Jun 2015 17:14:56
Clemence.
Babble (although Finnan runs him close).
Hansen
Carragher.
Nicol.
Barnes.
Souness.
Gerrard.
Fowler.
Rush.
Torres or Suarez.

Still a tough shout leaving so many others out.

2.) 03 Jun 2015 17:29:04
Gerrard the best player we've ever had ,could do everything he's a must first name on team sheet

{Ed001's Note - sorry but he was not the best player ever, he was not even the best midfielder we have ever had and he could not defend nor would he play on the right because he thought he was too good to play there.}

3.) 03 Jun 2015 17:30:43
Cant believe you left out Super Stevie Nicol, he was so good any position you played him in would have looked like his natural position! Keegan instead of Fowler for me as well although that's a bit of a controversial one!

4.) 03 Jun 2015 17:51:31
I know you like Finnan a lot so I imagine it was hard leaving him out!

{Ed001's Note - and Babbel, but Jones was just that good.}

5.) 03 Jun 2015 18:02:41
Let's not argue over a Best XI too, haha.
If you'll indulge me :

Clemence
Neal Hughes Hansen Nicol
Gerrard McDermott Souness Barnes
Dalglish Keegan

I feel better already. Who's manager though, haha ?

{Ed001's Note - Paisley.}

6.) 03 Jun 2015 18:12:45
Clemence
Nicol
Hansen
Hyypia
Kennedy
McManaman
Souness
McMahon
Barnes
Dalglish
Rush

this for me would be my best as think it adds aerial prowess and proper steel in midfield.

{Ed001's Note - steel and you put in McManaman?}

7.) 03 Jun 2015 18:20:00
Shankly for me ed, with the old Boot Room behind.
Brendan could make the teas for about ten years and learn some proper football !

{Ed001's Note - Paisley learnt from Shanks to take it on a whole new level, that is why I would go for him. He was ruthless while Shanks was too loyal.}

8.) 03 Jun 2015 18:28:34
Clemence
Neal carragher hansen nichol
McDermott souness Barnes
rush Dalglish liddell

Paisley is the boss of

Dalglish Fowler Suarez

18.) 03 Jun 2015 22:35:34
I think it is universally recognised that Gerrard is either the best player to have ever put on a Liverpool shirt, or the second behind Dagleish. Yet lots of you don't even put him in your best ever team. Just proves to me that you know nothing about football

{Ed001's Note - or that we disagree with what is just an opinion by some people that don't even know who Billy Liddell is, who many would still argue was the greatest player ever to play for Liverpool. You need to remove your head from your anus and grow up. Gerrard is not universally recognised as the best, some people think he is, some don't, but then most of us aren't getting our points of view from tabloid papers, where you clearly get all your information from.}

19.) 03 Jun 2015 22:46:07
Doesn't matter what era you have watched LFC - the midfield of Case, Souness, McDermott and Ray Kennedy will never be bettered as a unit.
Chris Lawler the best right full back I have ever seen, a central defence of Hansen and Lawrenson, Clemence by far the best keeper we have had.
And as for up front - Owen has a better goals per game ratio than Fowler and Rush, but can't be included, Roger Hunt for me is the best inside right we have had, and although he wasn't here long Saurez has to be included, so where do I put the best player I have seen in a red shirt - King Kenny.
It's all subjective, but comparing like for like, my team would be:-
Clemence
Lawler ( or Neal )
Hansen
Lawrenson ( or Stevenson )
Alan Kennedy ( or Moran )
Gerrard ( in place of Case )
Souness
McDermott
Ray Kennedy
Dalglish ( possibly Hunt, Fowler, Rush or Owen )
Saurez

Subs - as above plus John Barnes.

Seen great players, and great teams - impossible job.

I've left out some of my all time favourites - Ian St John, Ian Callaghan, Sami Hyppia, Gerry Byrne, Tommy Smith, Emlyn Hughes - the list of great players I have been lucky to watch over the last 50 years.

And we now have a manager who, in my opinion, should not be called a coach or a manager - we are doomed to be a mid ( or lower ) table side as long as he stays in charge

20.) 03 Jun 2015 23:05:24
No eds, I don't get my points of view from tabloid newspapers, as my name suggests I have been a true supporter since my first visit to Anfield when Swansea Town as they were then won 2-1 in the quarter final of the FA cup in 1964. Ronnie Moran missed a penalty to force a replay and Noel Dwyer the Swansea keeper had the game of his life. Since then I have seen most of the greats play for Liverpool. I took an under 12's team to Anfield to watch us beat Oxford 6-0 and I thought that the partnership between Rush and Dagleish was nothing short of telepathic. But i stand by what I say Gerrard is the best player to put on a Liverpool shirt

{Ed001's Note - in your opinion. But that is not mine. He is not even half the player Souness was, he has no defensive awareness at all. His best position was the one he refused to play for Liverpool yet said he was happy to play there or anywhere for England. If he had stayed there, as Rafa wanted him to, he would have been in the argument to be the greatest ever, as it is, he was too prone to errors leading to goals that should never have been if he had been awake defensively. Too many lazy back passes without looking.}

21.) 04 Jun 2015 10:00:34
thoroughly agree which is why Gerrard was not in my side
and btw when I meant steel in midfield I meant central, agree about McManaman shout - saw him tackle once and went straight to Specsavers to get my eye test done!!

Mcmahon and Souness both had defensive awareness - look at how many goals we didn't concede with those in the side, this wasn't purely down to 2x centre halves and a GK it was their awareness of what was going on around them.

know of an ex-player who quite openly states hated playing with SG as he had literally no defensive awareness and simply didn't try to address it.

unfortunately for me - SG stands out recently because of a lack of quality around him, players in the late 70s and 80s for LFC don't get the same recognition and adulation but won far more.

Morning Eds.

By now i'm sure everyone is aware of who could be in the running to replace rodgers in the summer (klopp de boer, rafa, etc).

Obviously it will also largely depend on whether or not we will go with a DOF (visable or not visable) and who would be willing to work under the structure we choose.

My question is how would you set up in the summer? i know lots of people are saying Klopp but Dortmund are not having a very good season is that his doing, or is it factors out of his control?

Personally i don't think i would take Rafa back as much as i love him as i think he would proberly want full control + he can't really deal with working in a budget.

Sorry for the long post but i thought it would make a change from the constant Rodgers out posts!

Thanks

SpacedJosh

{Ed002's Note - I sure as hell wouldn't hold your breath about Klopp moving to Liverpool this summer.

I really have no interest in any of this fantasy football stuff but I am sure others will have an opinion Josh.}

1.) 07 Apr 2015 11:54:52
I don't think there are many good options really. De Boer had plus points such as promoting academy talent etc at Ajax but his style of play is fairly slow possession football (think Rodgers or Van Gaal on a bad day) with some pressing. Ajax haven't set the world on fire this year in a poor league. I'd say he was the most likely if Rodgers goes.

Maybe something left field like Karanka?! Bielsa is out of contract I believe and his teams do play good football but he has a mixed record, doesn't speak English either

2.) 07 Apr 2015 12:34:22
Maybe Sterling could act as his interpreter. Surely he must have some skills to justify £100,000 a year!

3.) 07 Apr 2015 12:40:06
I don't get what josh said is anything to do with fantasy football lmao he stated wether either would be a option hardly fantasy football so.

{Ed002's Note - God the idiots are out in force today.}

4.) 07 Apr 2015 13:02:48
Please don`t take this as anything more than a bit of banter, but I don`t know what it is, every time I look at Ronald Koeman I just see him as a Liverpool manager, not based on any logic or great insight, just when I see him on the touchline it screams Lfc to me.(does he look a bit like Sammy Lee?)

5.) 07 Apr 2015 16:45:40
I just wanted the eds opinions on what they would do really, i did'nt realise Klopp was so unrealistic.

From what you know Ed002 what do you think is the most likely scenario come the summer? I doubt Rodgers would accept a job anyway to be honest

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to speculate on what is "likely".}

17 Jul 2014 16:53:38
Hi long time no see.

My understanding if that we have all but signed Micah Richards.

I personally think he is/could be a quality addition.

What's everyone's thoughts?.

I also believe Ben Davies is our top priority at the moment, we have left it late - Moreno was our top target and there was a belief in the ranks that we would eventually get him.

Bony is 100% a option we are exploring - he might prove to be just to expensive though.

Thanks.

it is without a doubt the most clueless article i have ever read.

Put one of the positives as bringing through youngsters? are they having a laugh how many first team appearances did texeira get this season? hos suso getting on as well?
