I have to say if City hadnt signed Haaland this summer I think they would be in a similar position as us. The midfield is aging and looks leggy like ours. His goals have certainly put them in with a good chance of getting top four.

Well Spurs have gone and Spursed it up in any case.

He’ll score loads but i think they’re better without him. A bit like van Nistelrooy at United their biggest problem is their wingers though. Need to go back to the sterling/ sane types.

Was thinking of Kenny's remarks about how Everton won the league in 1985, signed Gary Lineker for the following season, got 30 league goals out of him and dropped to 2nd myself OneKiss.

Not a chance they have a unreal squad the bench is off the charts.

City’s midfield is getting old ???. Is it something they are putting in the water or what?

Man City’s current team is not anywhere near the team they had in the past. They are needing another 1 billion for pep to be competitive again.

They’ll win it. The refs are doing a grand job of keeping it “competitive” for as long as possible.

{Ed025's Note - "pint of bitter for LFC8".. :)

Lfc8 they will win it because they are the best team this year imo, arsenal have had a cracking start to the season. But not sure arsenal will keep it up and we know too well city are a different animal in the closing straight.

Haaland will score goals because they create chances and he is a finisher. The rest of the time it’s like playing with 10 men.
His touch is woeful, his passing is shocking and his link up play is non existent.
People said Nunez’s link up play was bad but he’s miles better on the ball than Haaland. Once Nunez starts taking his chances he’ll give Haaland a run for his money.

I think City have looked strong this season but Pep's chopped and changed the defence a lot and they've conceded some sloppy goals. Rodri, Silva and De Bruyne don't look leggy to me when I've seen them but i would agree that applies to Gundogan. He can get turned around a lot easier than previous seasons.

Having Haaland up top helps though because teams are terrified to squeeze up against them which gives them a lot more time on the ball.

City are fine. They are as vulnerable as they have always been when teams actually try and attack them. Issue this season is that Pep is up to his old tricks and trying to be edgy with team selections etc which is what has cost them in Champs league several times.

They will be replacing gundogan in the summer with im sure another world class CM so won’t be dropping off.

We should have gone for Haaland.
Alf Inge Haaland. Any midfielder is an upgrade on ours.
I bet Spurs and Villa would outbid us, though.

I see what you did there Rigsby. Perhaps would could bring Keane in too - wouldn’t half be a battle in midfield, even without an opposition.

How I wish we could clone souness and alonso.

I did think of that, WDW.
I like listening to Roy Keane, now. Not as a pundit but when he's talking about his career. He's a funny bloke.

City can accommodate Haaland because they are so good. I said the same when they were in for Ronaldo before he went to United. City lose something when they don't play a false nine but they can get away with it and Haaland does bring a lot to the team. Goals if nothing else.

City will win the league and I have seen no evidence to suggest Rodri or KDB are slowing down.
