Chris a bit of perspective would be good, we won the European Cup and just missed out on the league, typical everyone writing the season off before it's even started, so no marquee signings, seem to have short memories. We have the best keeper in Europe, best defence in Europe and best front three. Best manager and allegedly the best fans. Get behind the team. YNWA.

You should be concerned about the team this season, your thought process is what's gone before, I've supported this team for over 40 years and heard all this before. I'll repeat this again one more time. The greatest manager who ever lived Sir Bob Paisley, never rested on his laurels, he won leagues and European cups and is 20 times the manager Jürgen will ever be and he never went with the same team the following season and constantly evolved, that's what great managers do. God rest his soul, always loved and never forgotten, we love you Sir Bob.

Thank god we have the history man to tell us how things were so much better in the olden days, what would we do without you?

{Ed0333's Note - The history man lol. That made me chuckle. Although I agree with Waro that Paisley is ‘the greatest manager that ever lived’ I cannot endorse the profoundly disrespectful statement of ‘20 times the manager Jurgen will ever be’. What an obscene thing to say about a man that has just won you the European cup and has shown nothing but passion, loyalty and class for Liverpool FC. I’m ashamed, angered and disgusted by Waro’s post.

Waro I do agree with you. Sir Alex always added players after winning titles. Let's hope for very few injures and a fair bit of improvement from the players. With our premier league history I'm very surprised the club feels comfortable enough to just stand still after coming so close and having great currency after winning Europe. I absolutely love Klopp, I just hope he gets this right.

{Ed0333's Note - Ed’s 001 said today we were interested in purchasing players but they didn’t want to come and sit on the bench. What do you people want a signing for the sake of a signing? It doesn’t make sense to buy players less talented players just for the sake of it. It’s one of Klopp’s hallmarks that he’ll wait for the player he wants if he’s not available. This distant for Klopp and the club because of the lack of signings in so fuc**n ridiculous. Trust the guy that’s just got you the third highest premier league points total and won you a European cup by beating Spurs, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG. I think the guy knows a lot more about soccer than most of us put together.

ed333 - perfect. So this is something I was saying a few days ago. That, if the market for realistic targets are the likes of Origi and Shaq, then it is better to keep them rather than splash millions on players with no guarantee of improving the squad.

we can harbour dreams of having two starting XIs, but I think some people just need to wake up a bit and smell reality.

{Ed0333's Note - indeed mate. Furthermore I’m flabbergasted players have turned us down. This is not arrogance but who wouldn’t wanna work with Klopp and play for the European champions on the tidal wave of success where about to embark on. It is what it is and we have to make do with the squad we have which isn’t too shabby. And we have Jurgen Norbert Klopp! I’m not too despondent.

Paisley could buy when he wanted to as there was no windows. majority of his signings went into the reserves. He believed in continuity. Name me a player he bought from Aug 78 to March 81 that went straight in the team.

I can promise you Waro that no great manager would buy for the sake of it. The idea that the club is resting on their laurels as opposed to not being able to find the right player is ridiculous.

30 Jul 2019 09:43:46
I honestly don't think there is a reason to go out and pay big money and big wages on any position. Having competed in the PL and CL competition last season there is no reason to think we can't do the same. Top Players are not going to be bought in to sit on the bench in case we get an injury.

Ed0333 your spot on mate I’ve said before believe in klopp get behind this team barring any major injury list another good season is on the way the players that have been missing pre season would walk in to any side in the world in my opinion just keep the faith
Up the pool.

{Ed0333's Note - yes mate take Silva, Aguero and De Bruyne out of City and they would be pretty blunt also. As you say barring injuries we have a pretty formidable first 11 and Naby and Ox as the ‘new signings’ I would have said Lalana but I wanna keep the shred of integrity I have on here.

I agree Ed0333 I am shocked players have turned us down as they want to play every game mate. I guess that shows were the modern day players heads are at. I’m happy with our squad if Klopp is mate, like you say he has got us our 6th European Cup and very close I the league. Let’s hope we can go again this season and compete on all fronts. I’m still hopefully we can bring one in mate to push the front 3 and Cornett would do just nicely.

Last thing, do you ever sleep lol. I’m looking at the times you have been replying to posters.

{Ed0333's Note - Hey Virgil do you want Cornet just because you’re desperate for us to make a signing or do you want him because you think he’s worth a place in the team/squad? I live in the States my friend so I’m assuming when you’re asleep I’m editing also my wife snores so it’s not unusual for me to be up in the middle of the night my time and edit.

We've made two really good solid signings for the future, both of whom could potentially offer protection in the event of an injury. I feel pretty confident that Klopp and Edwards have a plan and a contingency plan as well. It wouldn't surprise me if they aren't already laying groundwork for potential January signings and for next summer as well.

30 Jul 2019 15:25:52
If you take Aguero, Silva and De Bryune out of City's first 11 that might well be sterile but they could certainly replace them with talented players, such as Sane and Jesus for example. If you take Salah, Mane and VVD out of our team then, in my opinion we would be doomed. City might struggle but also possibly have enough to win the league, where as we wouldn't stand a chance. My opinion of course. I appreciate it might not be everyone's.

Just my two cents. People are entitled to air their opinions as to why it is a good/ bad idea to add players to an already very good squad. What I do not like is that in spite of the pain the Ed's endure to explain to us that players don't want to come to us cos they don't want to be on the bench and that the club is still trying to add players regardless, people still come on here and moan about a lack of signings as if they are ignorant of the realities the Ed's are providing us. It's as if people just want to come on here and moan and act as if they don't know what's up.

Waro may be correct on his point BUT I am pretty sure he knows the deal like we all do BUT IMO, ignores it and moans regardless. As for the nonsense about Bob Paisley being 20 times better than Klopp, I will leave that pathetic train-wreck of a statement on the molten ash-heap of petulance and spoiled bratery where it belongs. Btw, Paisley coached in a diff. time and the players he did add had to earn their keep in the reserves first while people want signings for the first team so the comparison is senseless from the off.

As for people going on about injuries and absences, I remember City being in total shambles back in the day when Yaya Toure alone, would go to the Afcon and City could not function. Remove Silva, KDB, Aguero or Bernardo from their team and they would struggle mightily as well cos of the huge influence they have in the team. Same would happen to us were we to lose Mane and/ or Salah. For me, if people don't want to play for us then what can you do? We will go with what we have and hope for the best. Up Da Pool!

Surely at this time of the window we should be setting up a smokescreen in order to sign Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Connor Wickham.

{Ed025's Note - good stuff epic..

Waro was the one who slated the owners 18 months ago and got that 100% wrong. Said we would never win anything.

I sure he will be proved wrong again. I heard an interview with Klopp and he said to add major signings players would first have to be sold. If you bought an AM you would have to tell Ox/ Keita they will hardly play. If you bought a CB one or two would first have to be sold. This is not resting, there is massive internal improvement to come from this squad.

Fabs, Gomez, Trent, Keita, Brewster all these young players will get better. If Firmino gets somewhere near his best we will no worries. We have a side full of leaders, I don't see any reason to whine about anything.

Markp, no I've slated the owners for years and continue to do so, why was I wrong exactly? and no I didn't say we would never win anything. This is the issue I have on here, where people can lie about you yet you have no right of reply.
