Whilst Sanchez is 28, he's one hell of a player with a couple of seasons left in him.

Arsenal want £35m, we paid that for Andy C and £40m for the Ox.

Worth a bid imo.

He doesn’t want to play for us, why embarrass ourselves bidding for a player who doesn’t want to come to us.

Do we really need him though?

It's probably the wage demands that will be ridiculous. got to keep them books balanced. or maybe we trying to get him secretly which would is pretty impossible for teams to do nowadays.

As Ed002 repeatedly points out, it's not even as simple as 35m. He'll want to be one of the highest earners around, so say 300k a week, that's over 15m a year on say a 4 year contract, a nice big signing on bonus, taxes, agent fees etc. etc. (I know you don't like talking money Ed's, just making a point) . Whilst he would improve any team, he probably wouldn't want to come to us, and we I personally like to see us spend more effectively.

That's like you once chatted up a girl, she blew you out for what she thought was a better looking guy with brighter prospects, now you've moved up in the world and the lad she chose has gone to pieces a bit so you think you might have a chance and have another pop. have some dignity lol. he turned us down forget him and move on.

But isn't 35 mill and 15 mill a season still cheaper than 90 mill for Lemar and his wages.

Well who ever signs Sanchez, they’ll be getting a brilliant player and yes his salary will be high but pay top dollar, yow get top players.

If united get him, they’ll be a much stronger outfit.

I didn't mention Lemar, that wasn't my point, but hey, if we sign Sanchez in 4 years he'll be worth pretty much squat, but if we were to sign Lemar, we'd either have a superb talent just coming into his prime, or prize asset enabling re-investment back into the club.

I’m sure I read his agent wants £5million as part of the deal as well.

Didn't Salah turn us down once?

Few things.

He isn’t remotely interested in joining us.

He’s said to before that he isn’t remotely interested in playing for us, regardless of money, that isn’t going to change.

He’s 30 this year so for a player who relies upon power and a burst of pace, there really aren’t many more miles left on the clock and as the type of bloke who kicks tyres when he buys a car, I’d avoid this one.

If a girl "blew me out" I would see it as a result!

Maestro, Salah did not turn us down. BR did not offer enough for him at the time and BR as usual, stuck his mouth into it by saying he did not think Salah was good enough at that time to play for us. Yeah, that would definitely make Salah happy to come to us while Mou called him up and asked him to join and Chelsea put the money up. Also, Salah said that he always wanted to come to LFC and was sad it did not go thru so as soon as the chance came again, he jumped at it.

Sanchez that everyone is crowing about, is not my choice and has nothing to do with him rejecting us in the past. Frankly, I think he wants way too much money wage wise and looking for his last pay day. 15m a year for a 28 yr old at 300k a week? No way, IMO. If Lemar is the guy, we go get him and nurture him to be the player Klopp wants and knows he can be. Sanchez like Ozil, is now a money grabber and if Arsenal had given him the wages he wanted, he'd be singing their praises. I'll pass, pls.

Sanchez turned us down when we where nowhere near as good as we are now. He wanted London so if he is prepered to move too a Manchester team then why not us

Wages are high but we have paid stupidly high wages to players who can't even get in the squad, sturridge at the minute must be on 150k ish.

Wages have always been our problem but we need to look at quality over quantity.

BRover spot on, Bodgers messed that one up. Still, Salah is a more rounded player and has learnt from the experience so it worked out for the best.

Spot on Lavers.

He’s good enough for City and united but not for us 😕.

He is not worth the money his whole transfer will cost us including wages and everything else. He is great no doubt about it. But our front men aren't the issue it's clearly the midfield. I honestly think we should stick with what we have and not panic buy. Sanchez would definitely be a panic buy because he was never one of our targets in the summer.

Fatboy

Id take sanchez over coutinho, although id agree the defence still needs sorting.

Like mourinho says though when certain players become available you have to look at buying.

Drogie, no one said Sanchez was not good enough to play for us. The problem is NOT his talent. The problem is everything else.
