Bring back Couts and Lallana now who do you drop?

1.) 27 Aug 2017 19:18:30
Squad depth and rotation for certain matches is key. These lads cannot maintain this for 50 + games.

2.) 27 Aug 2017 19:23:02
Coutinho and Lallana.

3.) 27 Aug 2017 19:26:06
No1. They start from the bench until some1s form dips or an injury.

4.) 27 Aug 2017 19:31:48
Cant drop any of them, they will need to wait there chance for a dip in form/ cup game/ injury.

3 Midfield players were excellent and deserve their spot in the team.

Henderson is probably most vulnerable as of now but you can see him improving every game.

5.) 27 Aug 2017 19:36:38
There will be constant changes between Premier league games and champions league and other cup games.

6.) 27 Aug 2017 19:36:56

7.) 27 Aug 2017 19:41:03
It's about having depth. You don't need to have everyone on the pitch at the same time. We also have the challenge of CL.

8.) 27 Aug 2017 19:42:50
Yeah great isn't it 👌🏻.

9.) 27 Aug 2017 19:43:11

10.) 27 Aug 2017 19:59:36
Who's Coutinho?

11.) 27 Aug 2017 20:15:29
I think Coutinho will go.

Just wondered if anyone could shed any light onto who actually decides, and how they decide what a player is worth these days, and if that player is worth paying for. I know most high value markets are driven by certain factors, interest rates supply and demand, commercial value etc.

Granted there is a great deal more revenue in English game these days due to new tv deals and all that, but how can it just be said that "Swansea value Sigurdsson at $50m" or Lukuaku is worth $75m, not saying those players are not worth what "they" say, but is it just a question of what their potential suitors projected annual revenue is and how they budget certain amounts for players, wages, development etc or is there an actual measuring stick (s) to go by to determine a players value.

Money ball, stats and all that stuff gives you a view point but doesn't guarantee real on the pitch impact, . There are people on here who say "if we could get "xxx" for $50m then we should snap their hand off but $70m is too much" wtf kind of view is that, should we even care how much organizations are willing to pay for players and their salaries, maybe yes maybe not but where does it end?

Nice one to the Eds and most of the regular posters that make this the only site id ever consider viewing regularly or even posting on, there are a huge amount of cringe worthy posts but it has to be said that is part of the addiction to this site, both seeing what some numptys have to say and how the eds and others react. I for one think that if we don't sign anyone else this window we will still be better than utd and arsenal. Grujic for me could be the breakthrough player. YNWA.

1.) 25 Jul 2017 17:54:52
I don't think anyone knows the prices anymore. We live in a world where an average full back costs 50m.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 18:06:25
I have often thought the same. Some comparisons between what players cost is crazy, and at times seems random and arbitrary, even when you take into account the length if contract and such. 50 million for Sterling and 35 million for Salah - you would have thought they were the other way around. Stones for 50 million and Matip for 4 million?!? It seems bizarre at times.

I am sure I read somewhere that Firminho is ranked as the fifth most expensive player if he was to be sold today, supposedly taking all sorts of factors into consideration. Again a great surprise. I guess a player is simply wirth what some other club are willing to pay.

The buying club decides ultimately.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 18:52:46
You are only worth what someone is willing to pay for you. That's the way it works in any sport.

6.) 26 Jul 2017 12:02:19
The buying and selling club would be the simplest answer mate. They and only they will decide on the value of a player.

Just wondered if anyone agreed with my recent thinking. After the disappointment of not making the CL last season has faded, I now feel like its actually a good thing on a number of fronts. The obvious extra time / training between PL games is there to see but to go deeper into that, Klopp now has a full season with the team he is building with more time to implement his ideas and get the squad fully in tune. If we do go on to get top 4 or better this season, playing the way he have been we will be in far better shape to compete in the CL the following season with the lads high confidence and Klopps ideas firmly engrained in the team. Not only that but you have to think the really top players will be falling over themselves to join us, the new stadium, Klopp, all that. If we had scraped into the CL this season, I doubt we would have attracted top top players as easily as we surely will next time around. The team will benefit hugely from this situation this season, one or two world class additions in required areas before next years campaign and i think we are on the verge of a new era for this club. YNWA.

It's not a good thing despite you trying to sugar coat it.
However if we end up winning the league I don't think anyone will miss it.

2.) 20 Sep 2016 19:26:40
Im not trying to sugar coat it mikey, just thought about it a bit lately, if we had made it, maybe we would have got a couple of "world class" players, but, with the tight schedule and lack of depth that the Real's Barca's City's etc we would have been stretched and may have struggled in the league and CL, making it look like a faliure. Who knows we might have gone on to win one but what i'm saying is, now that we don't have that scenario, it is a great opportunity for us to build on Klopp's methods, train how he wants us to and rest players who may need it more than others. Come the end of the season if he has got all the lads bought in to his ideas and playing consistent attacking stylish football, battering teams left right and center, we will be a very attractive proposition for both up and coming talents and established "worldies" plus our players and fans will be brimming with confidence rather than thinking what might have been, again. Football goes in cycles and I am just really hoping this is our turn to hit top gear. i'd much rather we did it this way with a guy like Klopp building a team and an idea than some Billionaire coming in buying a team and some arse like Mourinho. Doing it the Liverpool way, know what I mean.

I know you are all slagging Moreno on here but all issues aside, pre season whenever him and Mane have played together they seem to link up really well. Moreno's only on 2 mins and puts Mane through with a great move, promising signs for me I know you've all washed your hands off Moreno but now Milner looks to have been injured he will most likely start. I wish him well and hope he proves everyone wrong YNWA.

1.) 06 Aug 2016 22:38:55
It just frustrates me watching him. Yeah he's a threat with his pace going forward but the decisions he makes are shocking, at least twice today he had time to get the ball under control but opted to clear it up field.

23 Jul 2016 06:56:07
Hi all, first time poster. It baffles me a bit though how we sign players and people on here go on about, oh where is he going to play. We already have Couts, Mane, Firmino etc in that position. You only look at the starting 11 and think that will be the same every game? We need strength in depth surely, you think City / Chelski fans moan about spending $25m on a player who may sit on the bench for a couple of games? I think we are doing a good job in building a team / squad that can challenge, one or two injuries or "top" players that don't perform and we are mid table again if we don't have solid back up in key positions - Chelski, City, Man utd even Arsenal can cover if key guys go down for one reason or another, we are one of the most valuable clubs in the world and its about time we started acting like it, imho. Thanks Ed's for the great work this window.

1.) 23 Jul 2016 08:37:08
Spot on Matr1981 - Wijnaldum can play CM, on the wing, behind the striker or even in a defensive role. If you assume we need at least two players per position, there is a potential of 10-15 spots available for him. We will have to wait and see whether he becomes a first team fixture or a squad player but I'm just happily we have a talented utility player (as well as Lucas) .

Milner for me has been a revelation, it has just clicked for him here. TAA and Gomez also have been excellent. Moreno situation has been a shame as I thought he could be very good but has had more than enough time here, hopefully for him he might go elsewhere and do well. Markovic is another.

Rest key players so they are fresh for the 'bigger' games coming up not because you are scared they get injured. Play the fringe players to keep them sharp and hungry. Not knocking the league cup but it was the last trophy we won and then KK got the boot.

Really hope the "branching out" was intended. Classic.
