Couthino starts without a doubt on Friday. Can could come in if fit. Lucas out for Lovren.

Tough game this, I'd take a draw. It's going to be lively and will need a strong ref, not a homer like you see a lot these days. Mane will stretch those old Chelsea defenders, the key to this will be stoping Hazard running through and keeping Costa quiet. Blood and thunder on Friday night!

Coutinho on the bench for me- the old saying is don't change a winning side.
Give them a chance to get a run of wins going.

I agree that you should not change a winning team but i think it will be difficult to keep Coutinho on the bench. Its a good problem to have i guess.

Who would you drop from the Leicester game to accommodate coutino
Every forward player was immense on Saturday and does not deserve to be sat on the bench against Chelsea
Coutino will have to bide his time the sama as any other player.

Bring Can in for Wijnaldum as we need more strength in midfield.

Don't change a winning team - unless you have far better players for the tactics you need on the bench for the next game then - don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

Can off the bench. 50/ 50 on coutinho starting over sturridge. I'd lean towards keeping the same XI bar Lovren coming in if good to go.

I think by putting Firmino up top would give David Luiz a nightmare with his movement, Luiz loves strolling forward.

I would actually prefer either Can/ Hendo or lucas with Llalana and coutinho either side with Mane and firminho and sturridge infront.

Chelsea have the strongest centre midfield in the league in Kante and Matic and we will need to keep a reign on Hazard. Lallana ran his socks off against Leicester so deserves to stay in the team, but for this one we need some solidity and that is what Can gives us with Henderson, bring in Lovren for Lucas and the rest stays the same. A bench of Coutinho, Ings, Lucas, Wijnaldum, Moreno gives us loads of options.

I love the idea of keeping a winning side. It means other players need to work extra hard to get in the team (if an opportunity arises) and the first eleven need to work extra hard to keep the winning streak and/ or avoid any balls up that might keep them out of the best eleven for a while. Good motivation all round imo.

Same team starts for me. The team did well and it should be up to others to earn their place.

Definitely bring in can for gini and lovern for Lucas . The only other one is couthino for Sturbridge which could go either way . Could bring him on from bench second half.

Apart from Lucas, why should we change a winning team, OP?

Bit of a daft post Hamilton Red.

This is a good question and I'm excited to see what happens. My initial reaction was to introduce can and bring on coutinho, but I'm not so sure. Give wijnaldum a chance and can can and coutinho can always be brought on if needed.
I'm also surprised by the calls for lovern to replace Lucas. Lucas's positional sense is so good and you don't get the rash challenges that seem to be loverns MO.
Most importantly, sturridge needs to stay. Last game was the best work rate I've seen from him in a while.
I say keep the same team.

I would leave both sturridge and lucas in the team. Let people fight to get back in not just walk in just because their fit. The lucas mistake was a one off and he has gotten better everytime he plays the role.

I'd be tempted to swap out one of our attacking mids for a slightly more defensive player as we're away from home. Perhaps Wijnaldum to make way for Can?

For me this type of game against a quality side like Chelsea is a "don't lose" rather than a "must win" so playing a slightly more defensive team should be the way!

Irish, hang on a minute, what's daft about my question to the OP? Why should we change a winning team (apart from Lovren in for Lucas as he's a recognized CB) . Ever heard of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? If you can't answer my question, that's fine but don't belittle other people's opinions. Now, that's daft.

Very tough game this, I can't see LFC coming away with anything more than a 3-0 victory 🏆.

Lucas was part of the winning team Hamilton Red.
