I somehow recall with a fit Lucas in midfield we rarely lost.

A bit of a myth. Someone found a streak of games he played in with better results then before but it didn't last for that long. He played in most of the last 10 games in 2014-2015 season when we were really poor including those 5 goals we conceded from Stoke if i remember correctly. Not his fault necessarily but there arrcalso limits to how much he could claim sole owenership of our wins.
{Ed001's Note - it is not a myth nor is it a 'streak of games', it was over his entire Liverpool career. Not as much of an improvement as Xabi Alonso, who has made a major improvement to each team he played for.}

Fanobip, I think you're forgetting just how good a prime Lucas was, he was single-handedly dominating matches at that point, certain Man City and Chelsea games come to mind, where he would stop everything and anything that came into our half, up until his serious injury he was the first name on the team sheet. So I believe that with a fit Lucas we rarely lost.

I think that Klopp made a great decision pulling the plug on any move Lucas could have made. Given early injuries to all three of our center defenders I think he will show himself to be a valuable part of the team once again and far better than taking a risk on Gomez so quickly after his injury.

Lucas is ok, He is slow which will always hurt a team that contestant runs through out 90mts. Hence he doesn't get into the midfield nor Stewart.

Please make no mistake I don't think Hendo is a bad player but I specifically watched him to see if I can see what everyone see in his contribution to our defensive part in the game. I haven't seen one tackle made or attempt to make one. I applaud his work rate and giving 100% to the cause but he is not putting anyone under pressure. He may be played out of position but it is of my opinion that a midfielder should chase the ball down putting the opponents under pressure to make rash passes. When he has the ball he seems to want to get rid of it asap hence the continuous back passes afraid of making a mistake. He never takes players on with the ball also a criteria a midfielder should possess. He do have a few moments of brilliance against weaker opponent's but in the crunch games he is not stepping up to the plate. I agree he has improved allot but it is the area in which he needs to work on more to improve. I don't want to get rid of him like everyone wants of Johnson but if that part don't get better we will always struggle in midfield against the top teams. It's not a witch hunt against him just my observation of his last couple of games.

Can I throw my 6 pence in the buckett regarding Bony as an option for a strikers if I may. Looking at the pace and speed the team played today, I can't see Bony as the right option. He is quick and skillfull but with his size and frame won't be able to last for many full games. He will tire and the amounts quoted for him is IMO way too much for a bit part player. Just my humble opinion though.

I personally feel Reina should be the no. 1 keeper. With a more solid defence his ball distribution would be key and his saving will have so much less pressure. Just my opinion though I have always been a fan of him.

I don't know if it's just me, but I think if enrique regains his form as to when he just joined, then we don't need to sign a new left back. Plenty of youngsters to cover him.

I have slated Hendo a lot and have seen the error in my ways. Still think he is not the type of player to command midfield but support him none the less as long as he wear the Liverpool shirt.

I would actually prefer either Can/ Hendo or lucas with Llalana and coutinho either side with Mane and firminho and sturridge infront.
