I personally am relatively pleased with the progress Klopp is making thus far both in team coming together and in his transfer dealings. Looking just at the latter it appears that if Allen £13m and Smith £6m do go (and I wish them well) then we have so
D players to a level of around £40m, players that played a total of 21 games and I believe scored 1 prem goal between them (Ibe, Canos, Sinclair, etc included) . Now we seem to have bought a pretty decent GK from all accounts in German press and who has looked assured and confident, albeit not majorly tested in the pre season so far, and two guys that scored 22 goals between them last term (I actually don't care if there was 4 in one game it is still 3 more than the departures for a season) . I have said before that I personally rate GW a better signing than Mane but I really like both and am quite excited. Summing it all up I really think it has been good business, the net outlay is minimal for what we have got and I expect more to depart than we bring in too. Ok a LB is now is in most of our views a priority but I think Mr Klopp is a shrewd man with a decent action plan who, fingers crossed, will now continue to take this club forward with his own choice of players and his own choice of style. YNWA.

I saw a lot of Wijnaldum at PSV and I have to admit, I am really excited to see him play for us now!

{Ed041's Note - he's a lazy player.

2.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 11:33:43
Opinions are opinions Ed041 and we are all entitled to them, but having spent a lot of time in The Netherlands and having seen this guy perform there I have to agree with MK and my opinion is hugely opposing. I am though interested to hear the basis of your judgement and argument?

{Ed041's Note - Newcastle United. Relegation, being dropped for the issues I said. Pick one :) Liverpool have so many very good attacking forwards I just don't see the sense in paying that sort of money. Do you really think his value went up on his performances last season?

3.) 24 Jul 2016

Wijnaldum vs Liverpool's top runners, Premier League 2015/ 16

Player Distance per game
James Milner 12.1km
Nathaniel Clyne 10.5km
Emre Can 10.2km
Georginio Wijnaldum 10.1km
Jordan Henderson 9.7km.

How did Harry become an Ed?

{Ed041's Note - cheeky git lol.

5.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 12:12:41
Hi Ed I am not sure if you saw my post. There was nothing controversial nor critical just an interest of the basis of your opinion on GW because I have seen him a lot and my opinion, like MK, differs tremendously. I, for one, was jealous of the bargain price Newcastle paid last year. Unfortunately it was the wrong environment to see him shine but I believe he has it and is far from lazy.

{Ed041's Note - If he was not lazy Rafael wouldn't of dropped him for being so mate.

6.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 12:24:37
I think his value was far greater than Newcastle played in the first place! I mean Sterling £50m really - he flattered to deceive but I bet some club would still be willing to pay over that £50m! This is a bargain by comparison IMO! I actually think there is a lot to say about the environment in which we all work and, no matter what people say, I challenge anyone to put a solid argument forward that they have never been sub-conciously affected by demotivation at some point in their lives! That said his performances at Newcastle were still far better than many in that distinction all side, and certainly not immaterial enough to call him lazy IMO!

7.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 12:30:10
His value went up:
a) proven midfield scorer in premier league
b) longer more lucrative contract.

8.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 12:32:14
Rafa is a fan of his, and I don't believe he's just said that so as to sell him on, he'd have kept him if he could IMO! As I think nobody will question Rafa inherited a disfunctional team and had to try things out in order to stop the rot. I don't think he ever said "I dropped him because he is lazy" I might be wrong but I never heard or read it, and we all know what he did (including to us) when he was reinstated!

{Ed041's Note - he rated him so highly he dropped him when he needed his players to step up?

9.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 12:38:13
His running stats prove he isn't lazy. Maybe he just prefers most of his runs to be forward and not backward like Benitez wanted?

{Ed041's Note - that's right, because stats tell us everything.

10.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 12:39:34
It is all opinion and we will only see how well each new signee fits in and the team gels as the season begins - I for one am excited about it though - and I do believe Klopp to be right for this great club. For what it is worth I have a colleague who is a Chelsea season ticket holder spent a good season telling me Torres is lazy! Again of course I disagreed - for me this was a classic environment issue - egos, clicks, Favouritism, etc that served to demotivate!

{Ed041's Note - but Torres dropped of significantly the season before he left Liverpool didn't he?

11.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 13:04:35
Environment! Picked up again when back at Athletico didn't it?!

{Ed041's Note - ok if you say so. We are just going round in circles here.

12.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 13:20:59
Ed041, can I ask who you support?

{Ed041's Note - not that it matters, but man utd.

13.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 13:24:31
Again I don't think your poster Jezza said "stats tell us everything" and I think we are all intelligent enough to agree that they don't but an indication of the amount of running a player on average does, if a sound and accurate assessment is made, could well be a factor indicative of laziness or not, right? With Milner being top of that list that Gegen seems to have got from somewhere, we can see that there is not a direct correlation between run rate and effectiveness but laziness? No IMO you really have judged that one wrong for our new man. I trust he will prove you wrong.

{Ed041's Note - whatever. I can't be doing this anymore. Stats can be used in many ways and u have chosen this way. I can see u will not hear anything different so let's just agree to disagree.

14.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 13:27:23
Ed041 I don't even see how he gets into the first team with everyone fit. Obviously he'll probably be straight in because of how much we paid and klopp must rate him but I've never rated him more than a decent player mate. He does not improve us. It's also worrying we continue to buy players with proven poor attitudes.

{Ed041's Note - I'm sure klopp will look at the stats and see he couldn't possibly leave him out? A midfield of milner and GW it is.

15.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 13:28:57
MK and L8, ed041 is relatively new to this trade. Forgive. I agree Wijnaldum is exciting signing.

{Ed041's Note - what has that got to do with my ability to form an opinion?

16.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 14:07:09
ed041 please carry on offering your opinions and thoughts, and welcome to this site, personally I would not have bought GW myself and not for that price, however klopp has chosen to do so, if klopp finds out he has bought a lazy arse, then he will have to deal with it.

{Ed041's Note - thanks mate.

17.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 14:09:59
Not Newcastle then ed041?

{Ed041's Note - no, man utd.

18.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 14:21:16
I'll look out for your posts throughout next season big Al, I think they'll be very interesting. From a consistency point of view of course.

19.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 14:23:49
The stat is useless as lfc play a possession game with the majority of the game played in the opposition half. NUFC were poor and unorganised for most of the year so there game was spread out, as an attacker he was having to run from deep often. You need to compare him to players in his side or in a side in similar style and situation. we have to many attackers now and as we have just got him the question really is which are leaving?

20.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 14:27:38
Newcastle your second team then ed041 because sounds like you watched a fair amount of there games last season?

{Ed041's Note - I watched enough to form my opinion yes. Look, if u like I will stop editing this page as you can't seem to grasp it's opinions and I'll let your posts build up till another ed does it. I gave an opinion that is all.

21.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 14:59:27
For what it's worth I am in complete agreement with Ed041 and his assessment of Wijnaldum. I also think that using stats like Kilometres covered in a game is just laughable and a fundamentally stupid way to defend an opinion on a player. Milner runs loads but, as ed001 has said before, he lacks intelligence and awareness and his running is often to cover up for his poor positional sense (particularly in midfield) : these stats count for nothing.

22.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 15:10:15
Ed041 I hate stats and the they're only being used by fans to justify a few players we bought.

Waro. I have been consistent. I'm no ems. I've said I'm not happy with our squad and some of our buys which includes Wijnaldum who i have stated I don't rate. I think he's a terrible buy but that's my own opinion from actually watching him.

23.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 15:20:54
We can go on and on wether wijnaldum is lazy, a poor signing, has an attitude problem etc etc but again, let's give him until Xmas with us and if he doesn't track back or has a tantrum when things don't go well we can all slate him and tell Ed041 that he's correct. There will be all sorts of opinions between fans and he won't be everyone's choice of signing but let the guy start with a clean slate.

24.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 15:31:19
Just sounds like your opinion is formed merely on the team he has signed for is all.

{Ed041's Note - im obviously not as bitter as you.

25.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 15:44:32
I'm sure ed41 will say Ibra is lazy, it's nothing to do with the side he supports. If he said balotelli was lazy, would say typical untied fan?

{Ed041's Note - yes Ibra is lazy and can be a disruptive influence too. Having said that PSG aint my second team, so what do I know....

26.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 16:34:36
Exactly big Al and during the season I will monitor your posts to see if that consistency continues (try reading between the lines with my posts)

27.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 16:45:25
God some of you are rude, you do realise the eds don't have to send your posts to the site let alone reply so show some respect, I find it creditable that as a united fan he is still taking the time to give his honest OPINION and replying to us on our page, and an outsiders view is actually something a lot of people should take on board, not ignore, asking him if he is a Newcastle fan because he doesn't rate a player, when the only way you can disagree is by watching Newcastle yourself is a little hypocritical don't you think?

28.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 17:27:47
Personally I think Wijnaldum is a good player and I think he will start more games than not.
He's my early call for player of the year. 😎.

29.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 17:51:14
@Ron I'm with you mate!

Have to say ed41, along with all the Ed's deserves way more respect shown than the above. Ask a man his opinion and then beat him over the head with it? Classy 🙄.

30.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 18:44:24
Still holding out for Pogba Ed041?

{Ed041's Note - I'm not to bothered to be honest mate, it will all work it's self out come September.

31.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 20:34:20
Look I started all this and I was just trying to understand why you made a statement "he is lazy". Maybe a simple prefix of "in my opinion" could have helped?! I just tried to help you stating it was your opinion and opinions will vary. I think you have done that now and that is fair enough. Meantime I suspect all the attitudes and egos in the Man U dressing room could offer some amusement and potential "Galictico style" bickering - IMO that's a recipe for disaster!

{Ed041's Note - he is lazy IMO.

32.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 20:48:45
The other thing is I do not believe I have been disrespectful in any way. I have offered opinion to counter the reason Ed041 seemed to think, or take a view, that he is lazy, seemingly based on one season in a disfunctional team and on a managers actions when, let's face it Rafa was trying all sorts to get the same disfunctional side out of a hole his predecessor dug! We will leave it now and revisit through the season but, like I say, I have personally seen a fair amount of this new signing in his native country and he is most definitely the most exciting signing for us so far IMO! Respect but disagree significantly with your opinion.

{Ed041's Note - you asked for my opinion, I gave it to you. U didn't agree and tried to prove your opinion buy telling me he runs around a lot. I said that is a pointless stat. You didn't like that. I thought we should just stop as we were going round in circles.
You just wanted me to put imo after my post. My bad.

33.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 21:09:22
Personally I'm not a massive fan of stats either particularly. I've just seen a fair amount of this player and could not disagree more with regard to work ethic. I think someone else mentioned stats, I agreed stats are not everything but "can" offer some guidance in certain scenarios. Let's leave it now you are right we are all entitled to opinions it is just lazy is a difficult one for me to comprehend based on what I have seen and also I believe his manager was once quoted as saying he had a great work ethic rather than "I dropped him because he is lazy". Apologies if any offence taken, like you say we will agree to disagree. Thanks for taking time to respond continuously it is appreciated, but to say I am not so worried or concerned now that I know you are not a Liverpool fan is being truthful. It is the "fans" that don't give these guys a chance or base opinion on limited viewings of the players that concern me most.

{Ed041's Note - maybe lazy was the wrong word, I should of said he's a waste of money due to him not being better or even equal than what you have already. He doesn't seemingly want to roll his sleeves up and dig in and doesn't have much influence on a game. IMO.

34.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 21:23:59
Cool thanks Ed I hope and expect you to be wrong. I'm with Ron on a potential of him being our POTY come May based on my viewings of him. I hope I'm not putting an over expectation burden on him but I, for one, have been saying to friends of mine that I hoped we would look at this guy since his early feyernord days and am just pleased he's here now.

{Ed041's Note - Good luck.

35.) 24 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 22:13:22
I think he'll be footballer of the year.

{Ed041's Note - you have said, I'm not sure if it's tongue in cheek. I think he will be a bit part player if everyone is fit.

36.) 25 Jul 2016
24 Jul 2016 23:21:15
Ed, I'm talking about 'nationally' where some people think I mean for the club only. That was the reason for the clarification.

{Ed041's Note - okay mate, as you can tell I don't think so IMO.
