I think we will need to beat or at the very least not lose to the Gunners in that Anfield fixture. I'm surprised that fixture is still not being mentioned more. I think we drop some more points as we have some tricky games coming.

However, while Arsenal have the easier fixtures on paper, those fixtures could be trickier in another way, with so many key attackers out, Arsenal will face mostly smaller teams which means more low blocks and a lot less space.

We need Arsenal to drop some points in the next few games with their injuries.
While it feels miserable after last night, we still have the luxury of losing to Villa and City away and yet STILL be top of the table. Go again, if we were to lose 3 games (very unlikely) the league is still in our hands with a win over the Gunners at Anfield. What we need to do is go beat Wolves to get this game out of our system.

Those scenes last night could further galvonise a close squad creating an even more title winning atmosphere or it the thoughts of "Everton derailed our title push" could get into our heads. I think Arne and our key players, while passionate in the moment are too cool to let this draw/ mayhem become more than we it is. Still just a game of ball at the end of the day. If we dust ourvelves down and no major injuries I still fancy us for this title.

We need Anfield to play a big factor, I hope the Anfield welcomes start as winning 6 of our 7 home games puts us on 75 points, leaving the Arsenal game which we just need to avoid defeat imo. So call it 76 points. Then 11 points from 7 away games sticks us on 87,for Arsenal to get there that’s 12 wins and a draw (us) from 14. Which is a huge ask for any team. If they do that from here, with their injuries, then fair play to them imo.

City has completely skewed how we all view title races, where a draw feels like you cede control to the opponent. In the majority of title races, pre city, draws away from home were seen as a good result. This is a normal title race where teams drop points. We are in control and a win at wolves gets 1 more off the list.

People will say forget about the chasers but Arsenal have now lost Kai Havert with a serious hamstring. Say what you want about Havertz buthes been a presence and they are short upfront as it is with Jesus out, now Martinelli and Havertz are out, and Saka a couple of weeks away.
If we can put a few wins together if this tricky Feb, I think they could lose heart.

Feels like all the stars are aligning with Arsenals injuries and some of the decisions they have been getting this season.

Even without those though we have put 17 league wins and 5 draws on the board.

Win tonight and that 9 point gap will look even better.

They’ll probably end up rushing Saka back now and that won’t bode well for him.
But, concentrate on ourselves big game tonight.

3.) 12 Feb 2025 21:43:20
Have to win our games. Win today would have been enough nearly.
Now it's going to get scrappy.

4.) 12 Feb 2025 21:58:29
Arsenal no longer have an attack. If we don’t win the league from here, we have to ask questions of every single one of those players other than Salah (he does his thing every single week) .

5.) 12 Feb 2025 22:04:54
The majority of this team just didn't turn up.

Perhaps they thought it was the fa cup and no one cared.

I think it depends on the price. If its the quoted release clause of 120mil then no thanks. But if you are getting a versatile player of his ability, potential, and is fancied by Slot for the same amount you would sell/ sold fringe players like Elliot, Clarke, Morton, Endo/ Bacejic in midfield. Then im all for it. I've only seen bits but if we signed him I think it would be him, Macca, Szobo and Jones competing for two slots which is healthy over a long season. Grav to be the main 6/ deepest pivot with Endo or Bajcetic given him some time off when we can afford to.

Looks like he has a high ceiling, definitely shown enough and has the raw materials. But would he hinder Ngumoha? We seem to rate him very highly, I know Ngumoha is 16 but Gittens is only 20 himself. Still in favour of the signing. If Diaz does leave we would be short a wide receiver who just run at the opposition so I would be open to it.

I imagine they saw him at the time to be high potential but would of been behind Quansah and Gomez in the pecking order- similar issue they ran into with Yoro.
However, with the season DH he is having, he would be an immediate starter to rest/ replace/ time-share with Konate and VVD. Our preference is clearly to start Ibou once every 6/ 7 days as opposed to 2/ 3 a week. VVD cannot keep playing every single minute plus there's cup games. I think it would be a different conversation now. Not to mention we are in a great place, he's still a kid and would have a couple of years learning off the best in VVD, and not to mention a Dutch manager.

Geertruida would give us a lot of versatility and knows Slot. Good age with the right amount of apperances. Would give us far more protection than TAA imo but we would miss those magic TAA moments especailly during transitions : (.

I just don't think Stoke will do it for Danns himself. I've no doubt he will put in a serious shift but his aura seems to stem from the big game energy/ lights at Anfield. There is something about him for sure.

100% worth it. He's massive, quick, good in the air, able to command large amounts of space, has slightly improved at progressing the ball (room to improve), recovery pace, gets on great with the team, still has his prime years in him. Tough wood but he seems somewhat more robust the last 18-24 months.
I hope PSG don't wait for him and go sign another CB in summer, they are the threat I feel.
I think Ibou is the only one not sickened by Trents departure. He's been moonlighting CB and RB in many parts of many games.

Why everyone in such a rush to move on Quansah?

Agreed. That was huge today. Huge.
Not only do we get more breathing space back but I think it gives the lads a bit of a boost tomorrow to play with more freedom.
Goes to show how tricky the league is despite Arteta throwing 200 million at his squad every summer (Although I really think they are very close to being an elite side) .
A draw or win is massive tomorrow. let's get at them.
