Edd001. Could you do a write up on Henderson. His move to us, what you thought of him as a player, his best attributes, his role as captain and the person he is off the pitch. Also your thoughts on his Saudi move.
Been a great servant for us imo and I'm sad to see him go.

Just on Hendo away from Liverpool but do people believe that’s him done with England now after moving to Saudi.

Personally I wouldn’t be surprised to see Southgate still select him for squads.

I think Henderson definitely consulted Southgate on the move to Saudi Arabia. Just my opinion but I think he got somewhat of reassurances that it wouldn't impact Southgate’s thinking when selecting the squad that goes to the Euros next summer. Also Southgate seems to be loyal. You only have to look at Maguire to see evidence of that.

It's been reported that Henderson did have a talk with Southgate. I guess we'll find out what the results are from that talk, at the Euros.

Does it really matter what league he is playing in, as long as he is fit? I could understand it if a player had played their whole career in Saudi, but you don't lose your ability just because you go to a league that may not be as competitive etc. I'm pretty sure Ronaldo and Messi haven't become crap overnight and will be dropped because they have moved to a 'lesser' league.
Was Hendo always a 'guaranteed' pick under Southgate?

Alonso1786, I believe so as well. At that level, you always want to consult all those who will be impacted with such a move as in your family, friends and inter'l manager when it comes to your standing with the inter'l squad.

Also, pretty sure Hendo was well aware of the backlash that would come his way regarding his pro LGBT initiatives and he still made the move. The guy is a smart cookie and is a big ennuf personality to handle the stress, based on the actions he has taken to take the move. So long, Skipper, Leader, Legend!
