Really worried trent has swapped bodies with Alli Deli. What has happened Trent, you look a shadow of yourself. If I was Klopp I would put him on the bench for a good few weeks till he bucks his ideas up. Guarantee he's got an agent in his ear saying he should be on the big bucks.

No the effort was there yesterday from trent but he's not choosing the correct time to go forward and I think because the lights on him far greater defensively the mistakes are seeping in more. I'll take slips and mistakes if the effort is there. He has to really apply himself in training defensively.

Maybe they shouldn’t be asking Trent to be KDB and a right back at the same time. Look at the positions he was taking up yesterday. He’s not doing that for fun. He’s being asked to do it.

If he carries on playing like he is no one will be in for him. Maybe a championship side. A good few months on the bench might do him wonders.

Spot on, Cookee. The effort from Trent and the whole team was there. They never gave up even at 2 down so that’s the proof right there. The problem is that the confidence is simply not there right now. This is why we are losing the ball in dangerous areas (see first goal), making poor positional decisions even with the basics (see Trent badly chesting the ball at the edge of his box for the second goal) and Matip poorly reading the run that led to the cross for their third goal.

We can change personnel as much as we want BUT if there is no confidence in what you are doing, it’s not going to matter. People can scream FSG all they want BUT Klopp was provided the money to get who he wanted this season but the mid he wanted went elsewhere. And Besides, NO top class player is going to fix the malaise in the team right now. This is going to be a slow burner so everyone had better get stuck in cos berating the owners and scapegoating players won’t fix a DARN thing, end of. Time for solutions, NOT tantrums.

Effort was there and the team did really well to get back to 3-2, that in itself belies the lack of confidence as sole reasoning for the poor start this season.
Trent, Fabinho perhaps, Henderson is in indifferent form (for him) but still the leader. Nunez probably although he’s trying too hard if anything.
VvD and Jota scored in midweek for their country, Alisson is playing well, Diaz and Bobby are absolutely bouncing, Thiago never suffers from a lack of confidence.
I’m not seeing a team of shrinking violets here.
But I am seeing a team that’s affected by injuries, form and fatigue and the replacements are not able to maintain the previous high levels?

Sorry Oli did you not just scapegoat Matip further down the page?

There isn’t a player in world football that hasn’t been through a shlt patch. He’s 23.

Oli, give it up mate. You was massively wrong, we need midfielders.

IR if you read the post correctly from top to bottom, you would see that I spoke of Matip globally as to whether he is a good defender overall or not cos Ed01 does not rate him and based on the mistake he made vs BHA onbeheerd third goal (the very sale one he made vs Ajax BUT Trent got the blake), I now see why Ed01 dies not rate him.

Also, I said in my last statement that Matip has been poor this season BUT there are many others in that category as well. Pls, read the post again and this time, very slowly. Peace and Love.

LFC08, if you think a new midfielder will suddenly make the whole team regain self confidence, stop individuals from dropping desperate performances week on week out and make us the feared team we currently aren’t then I can’t help you there.

You can cry all you want about midfielders till the cows come home BUT there is no silver bullet here. No one individual is coming to save us from the malaise on that dressing room, end of story BUT hey, if repeating same stuff makes you sound like some kind of genius then, have at it, bro. Peace and Love.

Trent has never been a great defender nothing has changed there, but VVD is the issue he’s struggling and this affects the whole team, should he be dropped ? It’s a big call.
I would give matip and konate a run when fit it may just give VVD the shake up he needs.

Form? Yes. Fatigue? Mental maybe after last years escapades and near misses, but we haven’t kicked a ball in weeks.

Regroup and go again.

"Yesterday was the proof I needed to support your point. Matip was atrocious and has become a poor CB imo. "

I'll leave it there Oli.

One midfielder could have had a massive effect on the team and results. Not just any midfielder but one good enough to have a massive effect on the team and results.
Maybe Klopp is waiting for the right one to do this.
I'm prepared to show patience and let Norbert do his stuff. We owe him that much, don't we?

Thing is Rigsby if he was waiting for Bellingham (apparently the so called perfect midfielder) then that was a stupid decision as he’s not going to want to join a team in decline and out of the champions league (which is a very real prospect at the moment) and in the mean time our downturn looks unstoppable. Klopp has credit in the bank so there’s no question of his position, but though, the next two league games look like we could get two demoralising and humiliating defeats back to back against Arsenal and City, which could have a devastating impact on the rest of the season. Problem is that I don’t see the answers in the squad as it’s been almost the same week in week out.
