Lots of noise around at the moment about Olise . Have no doubt he is on the move to one of the big boys and I think he would be a superb signing - any news on this being proper interest?

{Ed002's Note - Michael Olise (RW/AM) PSG and Manchester City want him as cover although the departure of Mahrez last summer will mean more opportunities now, but the position is effectively Foden's. If de Bruyne or Silva were to depart, he becomes an option again. Crystal Palace has no real interest in selling but know that Chelsea want to take Olise back to Stamford Bridge and Olise has made clear that one day he wants to be playing with his brother. Down the list of AM players Chelsea want but they will perhaps push for him. His representative has said no other clubs have made an approach for Olise - but maybe Klopp's obsession with Chelsea Academy players will continue as Liverpool have sent scouts - but they will have preferred targets to replace Salah. Will be available in the summer when a significant release clause will need to be met.}

Is it klopps fault that he sees the talent that Chelsea missed?

Given we need more quality home-grown players he would be a good option. Not sure about the price they'd want, I'd rather have Guehi from palace as he's home-grown and would be a good addition.

Darwin mate, Guehi isn’t a forward, Olise would be as a long term replacement for Salah.

Chelsea wanted him back in the summer but Olise signed a new contract with Crystal Palace. I think that was a smart move and can see him staying on at Palace and developing unless he has the opportunity to work with Klopp or Pep.

With the way Ange is working out at Spurs that would not surprise me as a possible destination for him, be a better choice than Man U or Chelsea.

To be fair Ed these days there’s not many players that haven’t passed through Chelsea’s academy at some point.

{Ed002's Note - They have by far and away the best academy system in England.}

As ever, how many ex-Chelsea Academy players do Liverpool currently have on their books?

Just like we all live in a Robbie Fowler house, and on land covered by Ngolo Kante, every player anyone is interested in signing was a Chelsea academy graduate at one time.

A pity they see their academy as nothing but a money-making machine. A team of players made up of nothing but their academy products would no doubt be doing better than the current Chelsea team.

Ed002, you mentioned, "but they will have preferred targets to replace Salah"

Would you mind telling me who those would be, please?

{Ed002's Note - See previous answers, or search on Leroy Sane.}

Would like to hope they have a great academy with the vast sums they and city spend on teenagers! Cattle market for profit but they both have deep pockets and plenty greedy agents selling young players.

2023/ 24

Chelsea PL: P 20, W 8, D 4, L 8, Pos 10th (17 points behind PL leaders)

Chelsea U-21: PL2: P 9, W 3, D 2, L 4, Pos 15th (16 points behind PL2 leaders)

Chelsea U-18: PL (South) : P 10, W 7, D 1, L 2, Pos. 3rd (3 points behind leaders)

One has to say that the ‘best Academy system in England’ seems to be achieving exemplary results.

West Derby, while winning is good, I never thought winning at the academy level was the most important thing, it's about developing players skill levels for me.
