Ed02

Just wondering why Moises would have not let Liverpool know he did not want to join before we showed our hand with a bid? Seems like he was plaguing us against Chelsea to secure that deal if I am honest. which let's face it is just wrong. Also is there was still a chance of Barella along with Shers and one other now that we are not going to get a him. Just think this window has been a shambles.

{Ed002's Note - Barella is still available. Schuurs is also still available. Caicedo is not playing clubs off against each other. Liverpool made a very late bid for a player they new who "couldn't say no to Chelsea".}}

Last night's last minute deal was agreed between Brighton and Liverpool, it is obvious that nobody asked the player.

If real offered 110m do you think he'd say the same hmmmm.

Obviously if the player has his heart set on Chelsea, there is nothing Liverpool can do, but what if Chelsea does not make a bid that is accepted by Brighton? specially the sell on clause. It's bizarre to include it when you pay that much money for a player and I assume Liverpool added it because they knew that's only way they would shift the balance towards them.

Big question is now what do Brighton do. They set a deadline and now going against that deadline. They hold a 4 year contract. Can’t see Chelsea matching Liverpools offer as why should they. Maybe improve it but why do they have to match it. No one bar probably Chelsea coming out of this with much credit. Brighton for reneging on a deadline and not speaking with the player, Liverpool for not confirming he wanted to come or Caicedo changing his mind after potentially giving Liverpool indication to bid. Chelsea seem to be the only ones who have kept their side of the bargain. Oh the irony!

There are reports his agent picks up a higher fee for moving to Chelsea. Don’t know how true….

{Ed002's Note - More embarrassing scratching around. I have explained the situation.}

The main question is, would LFC want a player who doesn't want them. If they don't retract their offer it probably means nobody really knows what's going on.

{Ed002's Note - Just move on.}

Come on Ed002, I only stated my opinion and 5 Chelsea season ticket holders around me! It wasn't offensive, contradictory to you or based on anything I have read!

Can you please remove what you have put please as my reply was not. worthy of your response.

Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - It was complete rubbish and what is the relevance of the five Chelsea season ticket holders. Just move on.}

Ed

For me this approach to Caicedo smells of a club trying to show the fans “they mean business” when everyone knew he only wanted Chelsea (and clubs would know that)

Look- we tried to spend £110m and it’s not our fault it didn’t come off….

So Ed002 sorry for the spam but I got so confused with all the info. How do you think this will unveil, Chelsea seem the favorite in media talks?

{Ed002's Note - You will know later.}

Thiago Shimmy, I was waiting for someone to post this rubbish. The club would not do that, it would be a complete waste of everyones time.

A sell on clause is as far as i know only percentage on fee over the fee Liverpool pays. Not the whole amount. Ed's could you confirm?

{Ed002's Note - Typically but not always.}

Seeing conflicting reports, is the deal off? If not why? What's the point in holding on for a player that doesn't want to join? I have no issue if he doesn't want to join, but let's move on quick.

Robbie, I was being encouraged by the 5 Chelsea season ticket holders I am with to write that. But as I said to them I am a Liverpool supporter and we rise above such pettiness ? (hopefully the intent of humour and moving on is seen in this comment)

He obviously was open to joining us. He’s open to whoever pays him the most, I can see him kicking up a stink again and ending up in Saudi Arabia in 2025.

Do we think it is a coincidence that Chelsea try to gazump us for Lavia and then we return the favour by bidding for MC. Chelsea now have to bid high otherwise Brighton could quite easily say it is either Liverpool or you stay at Brighton. As MC is already dead to their manager, the latter is not a very attractive proposition. As a Liverpool fan I don’t want him now - he is entitled to say where he wants to live and who he wants to play for but I think the inflated values of players and the monies paid to their entourage is all pretty obscene.

Thiago Shimmy. People are actually never happy. I don't think it's that hard to understand. Liverpool value Lavia at less than 50mill, and Caicedo at what they offered. Obviously thinking although Caicedo is a ridiculous fee its less of a risk. Its also fine for Caicedo to prefer Chelsea, his choice. Even though to us Liverpool would appear the more sensible option for play time and a stable team/ manager.

11 Aug 2023 17:11:11
I don't know if the agent encouraged Liverpool before they made a bid but no matter how desperate they are, they wouldn't have made the bid without getting some indication. And as sky sports reported it "the 21-year-old had a change of heart and told Liverpool he did not want to join"

22.) 11 Aug 2023
11 Aug 2023 17:27:36
The guy doesn’t want to join, which is his prerogative. Move on.

He doesn’t want to join ‘yet’. He’s a 21 year old kid who’s thought he’s going to Chelsea for the past 2 months and now at the last minute Liverpool come in. Of course he’s a bit unsure.

Let’s just see how it pans out. End of the day, he’s not a £111m player. Not even close so I’m not too worried either way.
