No thanks. Klopp for as long as he wishes to stay.

He would win trophies and I love the guy (met him once too) but some of the football we played during his tenure had me drinking paint thinners.
Tough call, especially after the heavy metal stuff we've seen since Kloppo took over.

Was joking, no way for me. Xabi Alonso worth keeping an eye on though.

Not much heavy metal football these days. More like limp bizkit.

More like aluminium.

You want Heavy metal football, but don’t want to take risks (i. e. your post above about needing a new right back Colin) . The two don’t go together surely? When at our best Trent was/ is a massive part of why it’s successful.

We could sit back and hit teams on the break a bit like Man U are doing this season (after Ten Hag realised that he couldn’t go toe to toe in the Prem with his current side) . I think we’d probably be higher up the table if we did to be fair.

That’s not Klopp’s style though, and I don’t think he wants to go backwards to have to change the mentality again next season when he has the players (and our current ones have had a decent rest and proper pre season) .

I appreciate that all may be nonsense, but that’s the way I see it.

Rafa had his shot at Liverpool, he took it, and did well in some situations and not so well in others. Talented manager no doubt, but how much up the ladder has he gone since leaving Liverpool? Mostly sideways, if not down, for me.

I just don't believe in going back, once you've turned the page. It usually means going backwards.

And he would have taken Everton down as his greatest football achievement ever, only for Ed025 giving him the boot! spoil sport?

Nighty Night Ed025.

Footy fan, if taking risks mean losing lots of games and defending terribly and most likely going to finish outside top 4, and winning nothing, then I would quite happily not take risks. How about getting a right back who can play attacking football but can also defend and complete a pass. I’d be interested to see Trent’s stats for completed passes this season. I bet they aren’t great.

Also, every team got the same amount of rest and the same pre season. Our problems are from lack of investment into the 1st team. Trent plays badly and knows he can get away with it because no one can replace him. That’s poor management. Our midfielders dropped their levels and thought that they wouldn’t get replaced. Their levels dropped so badly we have to use 18 year olds in midfield. Everyone going on about Bajcetic having a “breakthrough” season, but let’s face it, he’s only playing because the rest of the guys are done. I don’t know what has happened to Fabinho but he is miles off, the rest of the guys aren’t much better.

I don’t really have anything good to say about any of the team to be honest with you. That united result was just a freak occurrence and I think anyone could have put 7 past them that day. They didn’t turn up. We have barely turned up all season. Be interesting to see what happens in the summer. Hopefully big changes.

As I mentioned early Monty, personally I think that Trent is a big part of Liverpool winning big things over the past few years.

I also think that the amount of games that Liverpool played last season and a shortened preseason have had a significant part to play in the performances this season. (There’s much more to it of course, but I still believe the impact has been significant) .

I think that new additions are (and were) needed, but not that many. Quality over quantity for me.

Obviously, I can’t prove any of this, it’s just an opinion. I very much enjoyed reading yours by the way. It’s very interesting how differently people can view the same situation.

A bit unfair for Trent there, Monty. True, he hasn't been playing well but none of the first team bar a few have been. It's his first season where he has been terrible and we already want to get rid of him. I think we need to ask if his poor form is a symptom of something not working rather than the cause.

And also, it's a bit unfair to say that our win over Man Utd was a freak result. We were magnificent that night and credit should be given to our players for playing well. We have been poor for the majority of this season but we have also shown occasionally that we still have it in us. The onus is now on Klopp to draw it out consistently out of us.

Rafa back are you joking?
Worst shout of the year. He did great things for us but his stubbornness was poison, not to mention the treatment of some players. He’s not in Klopp’s galaxy let alone league.

I don’t think he is having a bad period of form. I think he cannot do the basics. He can’t. I watch every week and every time he goes forward he loses the ball, he doesn’t track back. He makes bad decisions, his tackling is poor and he isn’t getting assists anymore, (that bit probably is form, I’ll give you that) .

Teams are now targeting that whole side of the pitch cos they know Salah isn’t going to cover and either is Trent. So it’s always like playing with 10 men which in my opinion we may as well have for most of the season. Last season Fabinho was covering and VVD looked a bit sharper, Matip was great last season too. So they covered for Trent and papered over the acres of gaps he leaves every time he wanders off. It reminds me of when kids play in primary school and everyone wants to be the centre forward. Him and Salah down that flank just aren’t providing any cover at all .

We miss Mane so much too, cos even Robertson seems a bit more exposed these days.

also the style of football we played under Rafa was dire some people have short memories. he wanted Gareth Barry for Alonso doesn't that explain a lot. he had his chance and yes we won number 5 under him but please don't look at his time through red tinted specs.
