Van Djik walked off after he injured his knee and was out for the season so means nothing. Really hope it’s nothing serious though. Suppose tsimikas would finally get a run in the team though if he is out.

I might be wrong but i remember someone saying on here that sometimes ye can walk on a knee initially even when you've done bad damage, very hard and painful to put weight on an ankle if you've done it badly.

Jadon Havertz, just for reference when I was skating in 2019 I rolled my ankle. The instant pain was intense, but within 2 minutes I was walking with full weight on my feet and no limp. I even walked up the hill from the skate park to the hospital at Winchester (If you've been to winchester you know that is a long, steep hill) to get it checked as I heard a "crack" when it rolled. Turns out I'd dislocated it and done damage to the ligaments in my ankle.

For around a year I felt no pain while walking but as soon as I tried to skate the pain was unreal.

So yeah, ankle injuries can be serious and still be a 'walk off' substitution.

None of us would see tbe most critical bits which is hours after and how his ankle swells up.

Unless they have a compound fracture, it's not worth trying to speculate based on what you see on tv. At least its not worth expending stress and energy over ot.
