Genuine question as I'm not that astute.

I know we have injury prone rbs, but why would we want to add another one?

Presumably Frimpong isn't leaving and I haven't seen anything about Bradley.
Feels like this shouldn't be the priority when we are losing a bunch of senior players and desperately need a cm.

Is there a 3rd "injury-prone" rb we are trying to add?

Watching the wrong Bradley lad. He's going to be best rb in Europe.

Dumfries isn't what I'd describe as injury prone. He had an unfortunate ankle injury this season which needed surgery. However, in his time at Inter, he's made 45, 51, 36 and 47 appearances. This season, he'll probably end up on 29 appearances despite having ankle surgery. He plays a lot of games every season.

Within weeks of coming back from his ankle injury, he's now playing 90 minutes week in week out again.

It just feels like a throwaway statement to call him injury prone off the back of one unlucky season. Takes very little effort to google his availability history.

Think this has been lost in translation here. I was referring to our RBS, not him. I'm just wondering why we want to be overloaded in that position.
You're a joy, aren't you, MK.

We are not overloaded in that position, as Bradley is our only right back, as Frimpong is more of a right winger, so getting in Denzel Dumfries makes sense, and will add a bit of steel to our defence until we can get Bradley up & running again.

Appreciate it, Racey. I love football but haven't got the foggiest about these things or positions so to me didn't make sense until it was explained, hence why I thought I would ask ahah.

MK, he's had a horrendous injury for a player of his age. He's not going to recover well from it and, at his age, it's just going to get worse. Particularly in a rougher, quicker league. He'll be 31 next season, which makes him a hard pass. I remember how rubbish Maicon was, he's in a similar vein.

Hopefully their injuries all occur at different times, so there's always one fit.

Dumfries has always looked good going forward. Was flying a coupla years ago in fairness. Never totally convinced with him defensively though.

A semi decent offer for Bradley and I'd let him go. Injuries are destroying the lad. He'll end out with a decent career but we as fans big him up too much. He'll Be the next nico Williams. People won't like this but a non Liverpool supporting ed will probably tell you a more honest opinion over what we think.

{Ed025's Note - i can do that for you Jerry...hes just not very good mate and yes he has been unlucky with injuries but i have a feeling his next job will be working with Thierno Barry at McDonalds.. :)

I think Szoboszlai secretly loves playing right back and causing all these injuries somehow. Doesn't matter who we sign, Dom will make appearances there.

Bit left field, but I'd go for Josh Acheampong, really impressed me every time I've seen him; big, strong, faster than he looks, decent ball control, English, not really playing at Chelsea, seems to have good positional sense too.

I think English football is really starting to lean towards really physical, well rounded fullbacks rather than the little techy failed winger types.

{Ed001's Note - I am sure he is a centre-back who just plays full-back to get him in the team.}

But we are well stocked... What are you peeps on about?

Szobo is our best RB, and Jones is a very good understudy.

Bradley, Frimpong and Gomez can count their lucky stars, our midfield is so poor, otherwise Szobo would be our perm RB...

Bradley is good ed.I'd have like to have seen him gain the experience of a good 50-60 game spell but his career so far has been derailed by injuries.Games like against Real show how good he could be but sadly i think he's always going to have these breaks in his career

{Ed025's Note - hes actually a decent player FM but his stop start career has held him back mate, i expect the club will move him on when a suitable replacement is found..

30 years old with ankle troubles! Playing with fire there, I would not pay more than 10 million for Dumfries if I would not buy him, end of.
There are far better fullbacks around, younger, fitter and not injury prone. YNWA.

He's not a very good RB FM. He's very rash, and isn't that good a defender. Mighty going forward, alright, and loves the tackle, but is virtually guaranteed a yellow card almost every game.

I'm just waiting for it any time he plays. But certainly very unlucky with injury which is hindering both mentally and physically. All that said I'd play him ahead of Frimpong any day of the week once fit.

100% his future is at centre back, Tris, doesn't mean he isn't a better rb than our current options. Gvardiol's been playing left back for years now, and Arsenal field 4 cbs every week so it's not like it can't be done.

Personally I think it's embarrassing that we don't have a single English player in the squad that's good enough to start every week, so there's a million worse options out there than a 19 year old Englishman that can cover 2 positions.
