I am not sure Klopp has the answers any more. The system is so obviously not working with the personnel we have available.
Time for a plan B that works with the players we have. Enough of the square pegs BS.

Over reaction much? Let's wait until the window closes and we start playing competitive matches with our new recruits. Then, and only then can we judge if Klopp has the answers. He's obviously working with his hands tied behind his back as well.

I’m still optimistic about this season mate.
And my optimism isn’t that we’ll challenge for the league but we’ll challenge for top 4 and Europa.
I have a horrible gut feeling though that it could be the last season we have with Klopp.
I have no idea who in world football will make us challengers under FSG’s model once he has gone.
And before FSG’s cheerleading team come in all guns blazing, this isn’t a dig at them I just think it’s reality.
As we get outspent by other clubs and without Klopp i think naturally we would fall away from challenging at the top. Kind of what we witnessed last season.
However as i started my extremely knowledgeable and passive aggressive (with a touch of violence) post I am optimistic for this season as me and my son are lucky enough to get to games and I’m going to make the most of the highs whilst drinking away the lows of what this season will likely be.

I thought this was the plan b tbh…No really.
I was hoping that when we eventually sign some replacements for the old midfield that we would be able to revert back to the tried and trusted. I’m not entirely sure that that would be the case now with this system still being used so far into preseason, however.
It kind of looks like they are going so far with the thought process that they have gone down a rabbit hole and have forgotten what made us so successful. Buvac must be shaking his head. I’m hoping for some sort of reconciliation in the not to distant future if I’m honest.
I do think a fair few supporters here often get caught up in the here and now though. They forget that there will always be another season and that football support is merely a pastime, but even I am concerned about how the concession of regular unnecessary goals will become a frustration.
I do take solace in that with a new dedicated DM we will have more solidarity. He may not be here any more but Fabinho did seem revitalised in the new system at the end of last season. I’m hoping that’s because of the role he was deployed in and not just something he conquered personally.
I am so very loath to believe that the club won't sign two more mids and a defender. That would break the season before it’s begun IMO. It feels at the moment that we’re just treading water with what we’ve got.

Are we really going to say “Klopp doesn’t have the answers anymore” after a couple of pre season games where we are playing 2 different 11s each half in most of them? (NB only 1 loss in a narrow 4-3 loss to Bayern)
I’m not saying there aren’t issues defensively. Of course there are.
But I still have faith in Klopp to get us back playing well and getting results when it matters and the season starts.

First time poster here, but been lurking for over 10 years now.
It does feel like we are questioning Klopp now. This isn’t just pre season but last season he didn’t react to the issues that all could see.
He’s been awesome for the club but there are definitely concerns about some of the decisions he has been making.

I won’t blindly follow anyone no matter what they have done in the past. Look what happen with Arsenal when they blindly followed Wenger. I think Klopp has been great, but I am starting to worrying. Every man and his dog can see we are conceding too many goals and the tactics are mostly to blame. Klopp doesn’t seem to see it though and our league challenge will be over by October if he continues with this hybrid system. If that comes to pass, then the buck stops with Klopp and I think he will be lucky to still be in charge, and I will probably agree with the decision to let him go.

No, I don't think I could ever lose faith in Klopp, to be honest.
I'm still relatively confident for this season. I do think there'll be a couple more coming in and that will dictate exactly how our season will develop - providing they're the right signings.
I also think that we'll see a bit of a rise from some of the players we already have. I'm hopeful we'll see an improved VVD this season, I think Trent will step up even more (regardless of where he plays) and I think we'll be potent up front. I have a really good feeling about the two lads that have come in, too.
I don't see a challenge for the title, though. I can't see anyone getting too close to City this season. I'd be more than happy to see us safely secure a top 4 finish, because getting back in the CL should be the top priority. I would hope to see us in the top 3, ideally.
A really good run at the Europa League, or FA/ League Cup, would be great, too. From the pre-season bits I have seen, there's a few of the younger lads that could benefit from those cup games.

I think we can fairly point out what can be perceived as a flaw whilst supporting the guy to get it right.
The flaws are so obvious ya can't not say anything haha. Klopp, VVD have all eluded to the issues in the pressers. So it's not a secret.
I agree that Klopp has earned the right to get it right. But in the meantime, that doesn't disqualify our ability as fans and observers of the game to point out what is screaming at us lol.

I agree Faith. If we finish 8th this season I’ll still back him, because he’s owed that for the sheer joy he’s given me over the last few years.
My gut tells me that the problem with Klopp is his loyalty and in particular, to Lijnders’ master plan. He knows, we all know we need players in and I’m hoping that when we do sign the fabled number 6 that at least something falls in to place. Could really have done with a Gvardiol as well, mind you.
