If you haven't yet, I highly recommend the little article in the Echo about Sterling and how his daughter was singing the Mo Salah song after City won the league. Really funny.

I used to be gutted ghat we sold sterling but he is useless eh. No other player has missed as many absolute sitters as him. I mean 2 yard open goals and his excuse is "it was my left foot and I was running REALLY fast" he does it every week it seems.

Dont like him but ability wise he's far from useless. Just under 50 Premier League goals,20 odd last year alone! if i had to choose i'd take Sterling over Fekir from what i've seen.

Sterlings problem was always his finishing, even at Liverpool.

Think we got our money worth there
not a crap player at all but much to improve on imo
would I take him back at Liverpool no and simple reason is he would not improve our front three at all
and he would not want to be a sub.

Sterling over fekir? . Really. We don't need another winger with less end product. Fekir is different ball game. Creative midfielder.

Stg, Sterling is at his best in the centre attacking midfield role. That is where he played in 13/ 14 when we nearly won the league. He is a bang average winger because he can't cross a ball, and his first time finishing at the back post is embarassing. His best work for City has come when he cuts infield and drives at the heart of the defence, into the box.

Not sure he is as good as Fekir though. That is debatable!

My problem with Sterling is that his margin of improvement, since he first stepped into the LFC first team. The guy simply has not improved that much. Compare him with Coutinho and you'll realize what I mean. Coutinho couldn't shoot straight when he first joined and was missing chances left right and center. He barely had any durable stamina too and didn't know what the word "press" meant. And look at at him today. In my opinion Sterling is just the EPL's current flavor of the Lennon and Walcott type of forward. Lots of speed with much less of everything else.

No he didn't mk. he played LW with suarez through the middle and Sturridge on the RW. we had gerrard holding and henderson and coutinho as the pivot.

Didnt sterling score 18 in the league this year?

MK, I an playing down his role in that season. But that season is all about Suarez. He made everyone around him good. So his vision isn't that good. And we don't need him for that role and he will cost high to be a back up winger.

I’m not going to slag him off. There’s enough people out there that want to have a pop at him. He played for us we got a good money for him and we’ve improved with Salah and Mané. I thought the article actually shows him in a good light as a family man who cares about his family. Plus his daughter is one of us!

Lets all see how good Fekir is in a top league before we get carried away about him. For years i've seen posts on this site drooling about players from Ligue 1,only for them to get their move to the Premier League or La Liga and be bang average. This time last year everyone wanted to spend £90M on Lemar.

Don't really understand why Sterling gets the hate still. He played well for us and left to win trophies and for more money. Both of them have proved to have paid off for him so far. He's not the first footballer to do it and he won't be the last. I'm guessing everyone on here wouldn't leave their jobs in a heartbeat for more success and a massive pay rise.
