Aoc is a joke! What a ridiculous statement. That is why three of the elite clubs of Europe were fighting over his signature. The guy has shown flashes of brilliance this season. He has not been consistent enough this is true buy he has not really had much of a run to build on his good performances.

I love him, honestly, I've been supporting liverpool for over 30 years, I LOVE Liverpool football club. He is a proper exciting player, he is fast becoming my favourite midfielder.

This slating of English players needs to stop. Players like milner, ox, Hendo and Lallana. Walker, Ali, Delph. These are English players at the very top of their chosen profession. The world cup is coming and no matter how much I love lfc, the passion for England in the world cup will dwarf our club teams.

In the euros, walker imo was our best Player. We need to get behind the boys. We can win it for gods sake! Aoc and milner have to go. Gareth has to pick them. We Could have a liverpool midfield for England. Hendo, aoc, milner and lallana. Why not?

{Ed025's Note - if thats englands midfield...god help us..

Look, i have watched Napoli maybe 13-14 times over the last couple of years (2016/ 2017) and this year and in 10 of those 13 games i don't think i saw Jorginho misplace a pass (a small exaggeration) , and he mostly passes forward, he has amazing vision/ creativity, he gets the ball, one touch two touches at most and a great pass forward. He also reads the play brilliantly, he is very intelligent off the ball and is one of very few players out there who i would call a true deep lying playmaker who can actually defend too.

3 clubs lined up for AOC? Lol chelea saw him as a WB to cover Moses while Arsenal never played him the middlmand they had no intention either. I don’t know who the third no club was.
Ha ha ha. English players and midfield?
The best CM in the legaue is Dembele and Kante
The best playmaker is KDB
the best winger is Salah and Hazard
The best DM is Matic
Which English players mate?

English players are good enough to beat Malta and San Marino. Most of the top clubs buy English players to fill the home grown quota!

Pretty sure I’m not twisting these words. Navas is not and never has been anywhere near as good as Courtois or Hugo Loris and never will be! Sorry MK buddy, but you’re wrong!

I still don't get the Navas hate. He made a phenomenal save against Mbappe the other night to keep Madrid in the Champions league. Mbappe hit a low driven daisy cutter of a shot from about 8 yards out that came straight through a defenders legs, and somehow Navas managed to react (despite seeing it late) to get down and get a solid glove on it.

Navas is no DDG or Buffon, but he is still a top class keeper. Probably top 20 in the world for me. Madrid just want to get DDG because he is arguably the best. I just can't understand the hate. Just because Madrid want to sell Navas he's a bad keeper? The same Madrid who sold Ozil, sold Alonso, sold Khedeira, sold Makelele, sold Higuain, sold Pepe, sold Morata (twice! ) and want to sell Kroos? Yeah they never sell top players do they 🙄

For me, Navas is at the same level as the likes of Courtois or Lloris. Not the very top echelons (Buffon, DDG, Oblak, Neuer etc) but the next level below that for sure. He has the ability to make unbelievable saves, he is decent with his feet, he is comfortable on crosses, he can play in a side where he doesn't have a lot to do whilst maintaining concentration, and he can play behind a high line. Even DDG has dropped some absolute clangers, and every keeper will do occassionally. Navas is certainly one of the more reliable keepers in Europe though.

It will be a huge shame if he is the man Klopp wants, and vitriol from the fans scuppers the deal, as it has dome in the past.

I agree and I know Napoli in and out. They are a carbon copy of Liverpool they way they play. Jorginho is a terrific player. Of of the best and true holding midfielder in Europe.

Erm, the third club was us baby. Don't sit in the corner baby. Do you not agree that his performance against West ham was a performance of the highest quality?

Ed025, you throw Ali up front with kane and play the Liverpool Boys in the middle, why not? People are talking about us being capable of winning the ucl. Surely that makes our midfield one of the best around? They may not be the super creative, driving midfield that Gerrard was a part of but the game has changed, keep the ball, break up play and supply the forwards.

I appreciate your opinion Ed025, you seem like a top bloke. Which liverpool midfielders do you think make the England squad?

I'll say. Hendo, Aoc (fast becoming my favourite player) lallana. I don't think milner will make the squad but if Liverpool continues to play well in the ucl and he continues to perform like he did against porto I think he has a chance.

{Ed025's Note - i think hendo, ox and lallana will all travel SS, hendo and lallana if they stay fit will have a part to play but i cant see ox being anything more than an option from the bench myself mate. just my opinion of course..

13.) 26 Feb 2018

Firstly, if you read what i said, i clearly stated that Diawara plays instead of Jorginho, particularly in big matches. I even reworded a post especially to make sure i'd been ckear on that. Diawara actually played in most of thro Champions league games. In the game away from home against City, Diawara was excellent and City were very lucky to win 2-1. In the game in Italy, Jorginho played the holding role and Napoli got smashed all over the park in midfield, losing 2-4 and honestly, that score line flattered them. Jorginho had no control on the game and couldn't live with City. The whole game was like the last 20 minutes in our game at Anfield after Milner came on to play the holding role.

Jorginho plays a holding role, but he is a deep lying playmaker. Pirlo played a holding role in Italy. It is a tactic often employed in Italy, to place your best passer in a deeper role where they will have more time on the ball to, in theory, hurt the opposition more with their vision and passing range. It is a tactic we tried in 13/ 14 with Gerrard, which saw us concede over 50 goals; goals which ultimately cost us the title in the end.

So i have not said Diawara is superior. I said he is better defensively (which he is) and is an actual DM. Jorginho is not a defensive midfielder. He is a deep lying playmaker. There is a very clear difference and you even asked Ed001 to spell that difference out to you in a huge article. Though apparently you failed to understand it anyway.

Secondly, i have not said anywhere that Jorginho is not good enough for Liverpool. I called him a world class pass master and said he would be brilliant for us alongside Henderson and Keita. I believe that with Henderson sitting, it would give Jorginho more freedom to fully express himself and make the most of his best attributes; vision, dribbling and passing. My words were that i believed he could control the game and that if Klopp is a world class manager, he could make it work.

So you have completely misquoted me for a cheap dig because you knew you've get a few thunbs up to massage your ego. I would love Jorginho, but you need to stop spreading lies that he is anything like Alonso. He has a similarly magnificent passing range but he is defensively weak and he ventures forward quite often to try an unlock the opposition with his sublime passing. Maybe in Italy where the pace is slower, he has time to get back and his lack of awareness isn't exposed as badly as it was in the Champions League. He will be exposed in a holding role in England though, in my opinion. That doesn't mean i don't rate him, or that i think Diawara is a better individual player. I just think Jorginho is more of a Veratti/ Modric type player than an Alonso/ Makelele type. He is wasted if you don't let him get forward.

Onto the second misquote of the thread, i haven't said Navas is "quality". I said he is nowhere near as bad as people are making out and that if Klopp wants him we should back him. You know; support? I know right, supporters, supporting? Silly me. Navas is decent and consistent and I think he'd be a stop gap whilst Karius developed and fought for his place. If Karius carries on playing like he has been, Navas might end up just being an experienced back up. I have no issues with an international goal keeper who has put in some brilliant performances in recent seasons coming in IF it is who Klopp wants. Back your manager instead of doing your best to put the player off even considering signing for us. The hate of Navas has gone beyond an opinion, it has turned into an agenda. We get it, some people don't rate him. We don't need to hear the same vitriol every time he comes up in conversation.

As VakPa pointed out, you don't even know who has played for Napoli so why should i believe your opinion is based on anything other than Youtube? Jorginho gets over run defensively as a lone holding player, but he is good enough on the ball to play a slightly more advanced role as a playmaker.

It is very flattering that you all go to so much effort to try and tear me down though. Comedy gold? Cool. If I cared about everyone agreeing with me i'd have jumped on the Jorginho bandwagon though so I'll happily be comedy gold to you if that is what giving my honest opinion is. You must all be very insecure to basically start a thread just to try and discredit me 😉.

So where did i say he was "quality", Frankly? I said he is amongst the second tier of goal keepers and i stand by that. Why is everyone going to so much trouble to try and pull me down 😂 you've literally misquoted me, and then provided evidence to prove you misquoted me.

Oh and Harry, who is the best striker in the league. The Brazilian Harry Kaneinho?

Frankly - your previous hate campaign was against AOC when we were first linked to him.

Just wondering what your thoughts on him are now? This is pertinent as coincidentally the thread seems to be debating both players at once!

Re Navas. Clearly Klopp will be able to affect a goalie's game less, but, as with AOC, is there a chance that he sees something you don't?

MK- I for one appreciate your posts and dedication to the site mate.

MK Scouser no need to defend yourself mate the majority on here knew what you meant
My two pennies worth is that Jorghino would not last in english football or barring that would take a while to acclimatize and definitely agree Baby driver is watching them youtubes clip hard coz if he wasn't he would know that jorginho got actually ate alive against man city.
He is not even in the top 5 holding midfielders currently playing in italy right now
Italian football right now is so poor that carlton Palmer would look like Maradona if he was in that league.

26 Feb 2018 20:24:06
MK he’s nowhere near the second tier mate. He’s barely Championship standard if the last two years are anything to go by. By saying he’s comparable to Courtois or Loris, you’re effectively saying he’s a quality keeper, which he’s not by a long way. He’s certainly not consistent unless making errors every game is consistency, as for being comfortable on crosses, he has a fear of them which makes Dracula look like Peter Schmeichel! And as for concentration that’s another of his failings, there are plenty of goals that he’s conceded where he’s switched off, Napoli, Betis, Sociedad, Las Palmas. I could go on. He’s definitely no better than anyone at the club with the exception of Bogdan.
Support is one thing, but blind faith in a goalie who isn’t fit to play for my local pub team is pushing that too far.
Btw you do talk a lot of sense most of the time, just cannot agree at all on Navas and I wholly recommend you watch some of his horror shows!

I think you're right ed025. Aoc is a good option from the bench as he can play pretty much anywhere. There are potentially 15 games left and if aoc can play like he did against West ham and Southampton I think he has a chance of starting. England have a top top forward. A few decent acms but our midfield options aren't great.

Thanks for your reply ed025, nice one.

Oh, did you hear Frank lampard on match of the day? He was saying pretty much the same thing. If he can find consistency then his pace, power and direct play could be a great asset for England.

Never liked lampard (didn't pass to Gerrard enough) but he is a sensible bloke with his head well screwed on.

I’m still not 100% sold on AOC as a centre midfielder. But he does give 100% which is all anyone can ask. Plus seeing that Chelsea spent nearly as much on Kevin Drinkwater, it puts a context on it. As for Navas, no amount of Klopp polish or hugs will turn him into a good keeper. I don’t know what Klopp sees, but I see a relatively short, physically weak keeper, who is very prone to making errors, who gets dominated in the area when crosses come and lacks concentration. He tends to throw himself around to make simple saves look like worldies.

I'm not reading even have the rubbish spouted by some here as it's all a bit childish and I have noticed this going on for a couple of weeks now - I'm guessing because the team is winning, people have nothing to moan about except to moan about some of the posters and to try to strip them down of all credibility - get a grip eh?!

Last time I checked, this was Football - a sport which is all about opinions - this for some brain -
dead souls simply means that your opinion is not the only one and not necessarily right.

MK, take no notice mate.
