I remember the story shankly told about Ron Yeats joining the club. An how he used him to try new kits on, going on to explain when he came through the door way in all red, he could see it will intimidate the opposition, and thus all red was used. Mainly because he was an absolute unit but still. Shanks said he was a "corner stone" and "the very beginning of liverpools rise, and he did more for the rise than anyone else "
Yeats soon became captain, and the rest they say is history.
Does anyone think VVD is klopps corner stone? Maybe, just maybe.

Nope. The manc teams and chelsea are too strong and powerful. Unless all mentioned teams either loose their wealthy owners or in utds case become less of a global force or they move to a break away league, liverpool will not win the league in our life times.

Bit soon to be jumping to conclusions like that I reckon, Benny.
I remember when Buck Rodgers was on that great run with Suarez, Gerrard, Carra et al. I thought he was another Paisley or Shankley.
God was I wrong!

Negativeredwalter, not in our life times. Good job Liecster fans didn't think like that. It is possible without spending more than City and United. Won't be easy but is possible.

Negativered

We should have won the league twice over the last 10 years really and that was when our spending force was way behind united and city. Atleast now if we are desperate for a player then the money is there.

Our squad is better than United's and arguably better than chelseas.

Leicester managed to do it so why not us!

How can you possibly claim Liverpool won't win it in our life times. I'm only 26 😂
Could of said that about champions league but look what happened. Could of seen two.
Also Leicester proved its capable, call it a freak season or whatever, but they got the results.
I hate discrediting managers suckin, but it was literally down to Suarez that year. Proven when hendo got a red against city and Rodgers didn't know what to do for the rest of the season.

I hate using this, but Leicester won the League. So if they can do it then, "potentially" we could also. Not in our lifetime is a bit far fetched in my opinion. We would need a degree of luck, a few home grown players to make it thru, maybe the right buys in the transfer market and a good manager. It is not all down to money, it helps a great deal but not the be all and end all.

I don't get this statement Benny. If it was purely down to Suarez then Hendo getting a red card would not have had that much of an impact on the rest of the season! Its not as if Suarez was carded, then i would get your point.

Irish. Henderson was also great that year. Rodgers messed about after that red card and showed how inept his tactical side was. The team basically picked itself that season, and when it couldn't, Rodgers got it horribly wrong.

I have no doubt in my mind at all that Hendo’s red cost is the league that year. Rogers was stumped as to how to manage the gap. Just a very unlucky set of circumstances. Really thought we had it that time.

I agree ND. My point is that is wasnt just down to Suarez that year.

I hope I am wrong but we will see. Regardless of where we finish each year there's only one team for me.
