VvD has trained with Southampton all be it away from the frist team today. he's not on a private jet, not in a Mercedes van, he's in Southampton. Looks like he will remain there.

kimuraking

1.) 30 Aug 2017 14:20:35
training last about 2hrs, we have up until 11pm tomorrow.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 14:22:36
Aren't they on a international break?

3.) 30 Aug 2017 14:23:15
international break mate. Doubt they're even doing first team at moment must if not all will be away.

That being sad I do think it is highly unlikely LFC will get anyone else. Maybe Ox but that'll be it.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 14:23:25
Just because he has turned up at training does not mean that he will not leave. He has always turned up at training, just been told to train alone. Which has been the case for the last few weeks.

5.) 30 Aug 2017 14:29:29
Clubs still train in international break - just depends whether he is in the Netherlands squad.

6.) 30 Aug 2017 14:58:58
It's not happening, it never has been.
This goes down in history as "the VVD window".

7.) 30 Aug 2017 15:01:22
These are international qualifiers for the World Cup. Serious stuff. Who's going to call up a player for these games, when he hasn't had one single competitive football game in 7 months? It's okay to have wet dreams about the guy (VVD), but come on.

8.) 30 Aug 2017 15:06:49
It really means nothing. Ox looks almost definite yet he played against us merely a few days ago.

9.) 30 Aug 2017 17:50:55
I've got a friend who works in finance and does some work for the saints, he's also a saints fan. so pinch of salt needed here or a bucket load, but he is absolutely adament that Southampton will not, under any circumstances sell VVD to Liverpool. They are still seething and it will make a mockery of their complain to the FA. Be interesting to see if money talks if we do make a massive bid mind, but as it stands. VVD will never play for Liverpool, unless he goes to another club first.

In fact, it looks like us directly getting any more players from Southampton in the next few years is now a massive no go. He also went on to say that LFC are fully aware of this and haven't even re-opened any negotiators with Southampton over VVD as they know it's an impossibility. This same friend also said we will sign Clyne 6 months before it happened but also said we were close to signing to Rodriguez so he's certainly not in the know. Fingers crossed though, if we do get him I'll buy him a "Mary Poppins" T-shirt!

10.) 30 Aug 2017 18:36:23
I agree with your mate HMF 🤝.

Not LFC related but would like to say a big well done to the FA and Westham for a) not taking any more action against Jake Livermore and b) for banning the fan whonl was so vile toward the lad. I lost my lady in 2016 and the reaction of Livermore was one of a man who was still hurting and completely understandable, the same way I would reacting someone said things to me.

1.) 12 Jan 2018 16:01:03
Some People are downright disgusting at times.

Fairplay to fellow fans aswell for identifying the fan/ piece of sh.

2.) 12 Jan 2018 16:05:43
Good to see the FA use discretion and common sense.

3.) 12 Jan 2018 16:16:38
For once.

4.) 12 Jan 2018 16:24:13
Agree, anyone prepared to stoop that low should be scraped off the bottom of the shoe and never be allowed back into the ground. Disgusting.

5.) 12 Jan 2018 16:26:55
Jake Livermore is only human after all folks how else was he going to react. Well at least it's sorted now.

6.) 12 Jan 2018 16:58:00
Nice post kimuraking.

7.) 12 Jan 2018 18:24:33
He's just scum ban the prick for life.

Just an observation. Why does it take footballers so bloody long to get ready to come on as a sub. I'm not talking about warming up, that is a given, I'm talking about the faffing around it takes to get dressed properly to play. Why are they not in thier kit and have shin pads etc on all ready. It takes an age these days. When I turn up for work I don't spend 15 minuets adjusting my socks and putting a top on, I'm ready to go.

When I played Sunday league we had 60 seconds to be on the sideline ready from when you were called, if you were not then someone else went on instead. Forget retrospective punishment for diving, should have it for faffing with shin pads and necklaces when your called on as a sub.

1.) 09 Jan 2018 21:16:15
Got to make sure their hair looks good for the telly box!

2.) 09 Jan 2018 22:20:14
I can answer the shin pads question. Apparently the elastic can cut off the blood supply to the foot when you are sat still for a long period. So they keep them off so as to about getting cramp when they come on.

Aside from that, they're just tarts 😂.

{Ed025's Note - love it MK..

3.) 10 Jan 2018 00:19:07
If you went to work but there was a chance you would be spare and didn’t have to do jack shit, wouldn't you rather be out of your work gear?
When I played when I was younger the shin pads where always off if I was subbed because they get sweaty af very quickly even just sat there doing nothing haha.

Ed001.Reading some recent posts I understand you have had a loss to bear. I lost my lady at the end of 2016, she was 31. It still hurts but my family at home and the one at L4 got me through. YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - so sorry to hear that kimura. My condolences mate, that is far too young to lose someone.}

Just wanted to put a general footballing question out there around referees. This is NOT a post to abuse officials, more to gain opinion. There have been some debatable calls this season, some decisions that give one outcome in one game and another outcome with an identical situation in another.

My understanding is there will be no referee from the Premier league at this year's World Cup finals. Now baring in mind Howard Webb refereed the final a few tournaments ago that is some come down. Now is this because there are only a set number of officials needed so at certain times countries don't send officials as it is their turn to sit out. Or is it that the refs in the Premier league are not seen as adequate by FIFA

I would be surprised if it was the latter as the Premier League, due to the pace and intensity it is played must be one of the hardest in the world to ref consistently. Surely the guys reffing now are of a better standard than say a ref from the Chinese league or the A league who, with due respect to them and their countries ref football at a lower threshold and standard.

Would appreciate opinion on why our refs are not going to the World Cup, if they are indeed any worse than in other countries and if they are being made to look worse than they are from the constant glare of media, and replays if every decision they make.

kimuraking

{Ed002's Note - FIFA have identifies the 10 from Europe and there are no English refs, the decision is based on those thought to be best.}

1.) 04 Jan 2018 20:38:50
Thank you for the reply Ed, food for thought for the Premier league perhaps.

2.) 04 Jan 2018 22:12:21
I like the Swedish millionaire - commentators always seem to drop that in!

3.) 04 Jan 2018 22:23:42
No English refs. I wonder why.

{Ed002's Note - For the Eason I have given.}

4.) 04 Jan 2018 22:29:08
The refeering standard here is horrendous. There should not be controversy every week but there is.

5.) 05 Jan 2018 00:17:20
sort of backs up my point the other day about how the PL should be looking for foreign referees, or just appoint me head of the group 1 refs.

Just watching some previous classic encounters between ourselves and Newcastle. Thing that stands out is how awful the pitches looked back in the mid 90's. I remeber some of the puddings that were played on in the 80's and watching classic games that were basically played on sandpits in the 70's but don't remeber the pitches being that bad in the mid/ late 90's.

They obviously were as its there for all to see. How far we have come to have the snooker tables that are played on now, where the Anfield pitch from the 1996 game wouldn't be played on in the National leauge these days.

kimuraking

1.) 01 Oct 2017 14:43:57
No no no, it's a nice decent sized pitch at Newcastle. Perfect for the Liverpool attack to run riot. I really think it will be 4-5 goals easy (4.0 or 4.1). Be very one sided and the score will show as long as chances can be executed today.

2.) 01 Oct 2017 15:12:01
How did I post on wrong thread? Haha oh well.

3.) 01 Oct 2017 16:09:29
It is great to see the condition of the pitches that are played on now. Even in the 3rd tier you have good pitches. I remember when everyone was terrified of playing away to the smaller teams in the league cup/ fa cup, this wasn't even that long ago, maybe mid-2000s.

4.) 01 Oct 2017 16:16:20
So true, players really did hate the little messy pitches.

If that is the case and Can leaves with Nabby arriving that will leave only GiGi, Hendo (if fit), Ox and Lallana for midfield as Nabby is cup tied for CL is he not? Oh hang on when Griezmann signs we can drop Bobby back deeper! Sorry couldn't resist.

Arsenal have had a string of players refuse to sign new contracts thereby forcing Arsenal to either sell them or let them leave for free. RvP, Ozil, Sanchez the three names that spring to mind, might not be actively forcing moves there and then but makeing sure the club sell or loose out on hundreds of millions. Then Spurs have had Bale and Modric go to Real as soon as they came calling, did they force the move, maybe not but only because they were told they could leave when they asked, who knows what would have happend if they had been told no. Ronaldo went to Madrid after he was promised by United if they got one more season he could go the next year. Would he have forced a move if he was told no, who knows. Chelsea have had Costa refuse to return to the club, that was a mutal thing in the end but he was never going to play for them again as he did not want to. It happens to all clubs at some point. LFC have lost Sterling to City and Torres to Chelsea who granted there wage demands, And Suarez and Coutinho to Barça. A dream club for South Americans. If a club comes in and says we will give you what ever number you want as a wage or it's Madrid or Barça unfortunately players will have their heads turned regardless Of The club they are at.

Love him or hate him Klopp is a man who knows what he wants. I can't see him agreeing the transfer of one of his best players (apparently it would only happen if he agreed) to be told, 'oh and by the way, use what you have to cover it'. Surely the powers that be have said if you agree to the sale we will allow you to pursue x, y or z now to not necessarily replace but Pip but replace one first team attacker for another.

Arsenal have been confirmed as offering 92 million. I cannot see us matching that for Lemar and Monaco are tempted by that. I think if the deal is being done it is with Arsenal.

This is Liverpool Football club. Knowing the way they have tried to do business in the past the medical team are probably walking around beside him with the blood pressure cuff on his arm. " Its a go, start pumping that cuff, pump damn it! "

Negativeredwalter, not in our life times. Good job Liecster fans didn't think like that. It is possible without spending more than City and United. Won't be easy but is possible.

If Balague has said it is nonsense than it might happen. Everything that man says goes in the opposite direction. In one 24 he period last week the man flip flopped his opinion on Coutinho more than a fish on a grass verge. He seems to guess then goes with popular opinion.

It is simple. In the summer the price quoted was 200 million Euros but the Liverpool board said they would deal at a piffling, measley, insignificant 160 million Euros this time around. LFC were never going to get 200 million Euros and they knew it, but they did get 160 million this time around. In Barca's eyes that was the discount. Or in general speak, being reasonable.

In all fairness Southampton did get VvD, Foster and Wanyama from Celtic. So expect them to sign the striker, Dembele is it, then we will take him for 6 times the price nexT summer.
