Question for the Eds. Am I oversimplifying in assuming that if you sign a 5-year contract to play for a club, then you have to play for that club and cannot - under the rules of a contract - decide which competitions you will or will not play in? With Coutinho 'reportedly' saying that he won't play CL football for us again, is he not in some form of breach of contract? My opinion is that once you've lost a player's heart, he will never be the same again for you, whether it's waiting for the day he is allowed to leave or because he is just bitter and angry that he didn't get his move away. Very interested to see how this all develops.

Not for the money they are asking Ed002. Id give sakho another chance (I know it's not going to happen) but 60+million is a lot for someone who is quite unpredictable.

He should have thought about not playing for Liverpool again, when he signed his new deal, accepting the pay rise and coming out and saying he's happy.

We've been told all along that he's been flirting with Barcelona for the past year, talking to Neymar bla bla bla.

So with that being the case, Couthino needs to understand that he's in this situation because he's hedged his bets. Will Barcelona come in for me or not?

You know what ed, it's just the modern game. As you say, players are transient enployees. Important thing now is to rinse Barcelona for as much as possible and improve our starting 11. For Sakho I hope a solution is found, yeah the bloke is an idiot, bit he's a likeable idiot.

Coutinho doesn't want to play but we can place him in our champions league squad, we can't force him to play but pretty sure we can take him to court for refusing or just keep fining him two weeks wages.

And it's exactly the same for Southampton. Doesn't mean I don't want vvd or you to stay but each club to rip them both a new one for acting so unproffesionally.
