Ed001,

Any idea on how long Can is out for?

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - he is having a fitness test later, he might well be fit to play tonight.}

1.) 14 Dec 2016 13:03:18
Fair enough.

Thanks ed001.

{Ed001's Note - welcome Nicky.}

2.) 14 Dec 2016 15:26:45
Good news on Emre. Is it a simular thing with lovren ed?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

05 Dec 2016 21:35:59
Matip recovered for West Ham this weekend?

Hope so.

01 Jul 2016 19:49:36
Quick question for Ed002 if I may.

Reports showing Palace are showing an interest in Benteke and Liverpool looking at a significant fee for him.

Is their interest due to the fact they have more money to spend as a result of the new TV revenue?

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - No, their interest will be because they see that the player can improve their side.}

1.) 01 Jul 2016 23:44:03
Can u see us getting the 30mill we are holding out for Ed002? . Or will we get 28 or something. I thought 25 was good.

{Ed002's Note - I would not get too wrapped up in the money McD.}

2.) 02 Jul 2016 06:08:02
Sure thing Ed 2, of course they see Benteke as an option to improve their squad, hence the bid.

I just thought that it was significant as I've never seen the likes of say Palace bid that amount for a player, especially when you factor in all the additional costs, agents fees, VAT on these fees, potential relocation costs etc etc,

Having said that, I think I read below that Palace have backing from the US so that may have answered my question.

3.) 02 Jul 2016 09:53:54
Money is clearly not an issue for Palace as they had no problem splashing 33m on a bid for Batshuayi. I think the deal will go through especially because he wants the move and we don't wanna keep him.

4.) 03 Jul 2016 04:05:09
obviously it's because of the TV deal. no idea why Ed 02 disagreed with that comment. i don't think they can afford to bid that much with out it.

{Ed001's Note - because you are wrong. They could not afford to spend that much because of the TV deal. Why do ignorant people argue when it is clear they have no idea what they are talking about? Palace were taken over recently by an extremely well-financed group who are pumping money in. That is why they can afford it, not because of the TV money, which they have not received yet anyway.}

5.) 03 Jul 2016 07:34:25
Spot on, Ed. They are financial backers from the States if I'm correct. If not, you may correct me.

{Ed001's Note - correct, they are an American consortium.}

Hello all, Eds and Reds

Not sure how many carp anglers there are on here, I am one myself and go to France a couple of times a year fishing.

A complex where we go is called Dream Lakes and a friend of mine is there at the moment.

He is fishing with his son and two swims along is young Brannigan. They have been talking and have had a brew together. Brannigan has also had a kick about with my friends son which is really great.

Being a big LFC fan, my mate text me and sent in photos, he said Brannigan is so down to earth.

I did ask him if he knew anything regarding Couthino and he reckons he will stay with us. Interestingly enough, Brannigan has also been approached by Barcelona!

I don't very often start posts but thought this was quite interesting and the fact he's be playing footie on the bank with my mates son. I think it's brilliant.

1.) 29 May 2016 17:02:09
Isn't he was wanted by Barcelona years ago?

2.) 29 May 2016 17:39:55
Recently as well matey.

3.) 29 May 2016 19:01:32
He has been on Barcelona's radar for while and they have been watching his contract negotiations as recently as the last several weeks.

4.) 29 May 2016 19:40:35
Thank you Scouse for reiterating that.

5.) 29 May 2016 23:21:07
Brannigan got back from USA and over to france quickly then.

6.) 29 May 2016 23:44:08
You're welcome mate.

7.) 30 May 2016 06:35:45
Why on earth would I make something like this up Hoola? Just check back on my posting history and you will find It's not in my nature whatsoever. He's there, in France, Carp angling.

It's a shame I can't post pictures my mate sent me a lovely photo of Brannigan signing his young son's Liverpool shirt.

{Ed001's Note - you can post up pics on here. Message on the contact form (at the bottom of the page) to get Ed033 to pull his finger out and put up the link again!}

8.) 30 May 2016 06:49:39
I will do that Ed 1.

{Ed001's Note - cheers.}

9.) 30 May 2016 09:32:45
All sounds a bit fishy to me.

10.) 30 May 2016 10:21:36
I think you're just reeling us in.

11.) 30 May 2016 10:53:48
What a load of carp.

12.) 30 May 2016 11:19:10
Surprised it's take so long for the fishy jokes.

To be fair, I'm quite disappointed. I've met a good number of LFC players both past and present but none of the younger crop of players.

I used to go the the same complex in France twice a year and would have been there myself but for having to cut back on expenditure. I now have a two year old lad so the cost of my LFC season ticket and 2 trips to France each year was getting a bit much.

13.) 30 May 2016 17:51:54
For hooks hake 😠.

01 Jan 2016 19:33:32
Looks like Hendo hasn't travelled to the Capital, hope he's not out for too long.

Studge hasn't travelled either.

1.) 01 Jan 2016 20:37:56
Lucas and Can in the middle then.

2.) 01 Jan 2016 22:54:17
The capital? Is he going to kill snow?

3.) 02 Jan 2016 10:47:44
Something like that Fency, or maybe he's building an igloo?

4.) 02 Jan 2016 12:28:57
I don't think Nicky got the 'hunger games' reference.

Ed002 and Ed001.

Sky sports reporting Conte is not happy at Chelsea and could walk away.

Now we all know how unreliable Sky Sports are but. Should this be the the case, would you swap Klopp for Conte.

A bit of light hearted banter to distract away from our tapping up shenanigans.

1.) 16 Jun 2017 08:22:29
No!
Klopp is a better fit for us.

2.) 16 Jun 2017 08:28:28
Conte snubbed ". Name your price. " deal from Inter to comitt with Chelsea. He is staying put!

3.) 16 Jun 2017 08:51:10
No - Conte is excellent but we're on a journey and Klopp's the right personality for me. conte did extremely well but had all the tools at Chelsea, think this is a different project.

4.) 16 Jun 2017 09:00:34
Oh my God ooo! Stop Stop stop listening to any one who tells you that Klopp is not good enough for LFC. These stories of he has not won anything in I don't know how many years is irrelevant, the man has managed a relegation fond Mainz and a Dortmund under the shadows of Bayern, from there he joins liverpool to compete with the real English money bags, what do you want him to do? If the so called best manager in Pep had to struggle for a top four place with all the money he spent, what do you really expect Klopp to do? Do you think he is a miracle man? Or you think Conte is now the miracle man having made Chelsea which is fond of competing at the real top of the league bar Mourinho 's last season the champions. Klopp has his short comings but he is the best thing we can have at this time. For me, he is the best signing FSG has made.

5.) 16 Jun 2017 09:15:47
Conte is a brilliant manager. But he turned up at a team which won the league the season before he was there. The team was almost the same, all the key players remained from the title winning season. All he had to do was make them believe again and he had the passion and personality to do that.

With klopp we have another brilliant manager and one that suits us, who is slowly building us up, improving the players we have and making them competive and wanting to win. There is no doubt in my mind that klopp is there right manager for us.

6.) 16 Jun 2017 09:28:02
He also added the player of the season to a title winning squad in Kante. You don't need to be a genius to do that 😄.

7.) 16 Jun 2017 11:40:10
Never had so many thumbs down! Haha.

I'm with you you all on this and I would be over the moon if Klopp delivered the domestic title.

8.) 16 Jun 2017 12:40:54
Brendan said Klopp could ring him at any time for advice on football, tans and teeth while the managing a big club. 😁.

15 Jun 2017 20:41:19
If we don't receive a ban, I really hope we are informed soon.

The players return to training first week of July, then off to the Far East on the17th.

A good pre season is really important not only for fitness levels, but also for new players to settle in properly with the team and their new environment.

{Ed002's Note - There has not even been a descison about an investigation yet.}

1.) 15 Jun 2017 21:01:52
Hmmm,
If it's talking them this long to decide if we are to be investigated, we could be in for a long ride.

Not good.

2.) 15 Jun 2017 21:41:15
Hey Eds do you know what the mood is like around the club in regards to this possible investigation?

It seems to me that if they are close to an agreement with roma, as is being widely reported, then they are optimistic that nothing will come of it.

Surely if the were expecting an investigation they they wouldn't try to pustules through any deal because the evidence is apparently stacked against them.

I've probably answered my own question here but I'm not ITK like some of my fellow posters and just wondered if you guys may have some insight.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It is unrelated. I have tried to explain what has happened and nobody here seems to undertand.}

3.) 15 Jun 2017 21:59:35
I think I understand, they haven't even decided if there will be an investigation yet so carry on as usual (apart from don't break the rules)

4.) 16 Jun 2017 17:29:33
The evidence against us is not what some on here would have you believe. We upset Southampton, we apologised. That's the end of it. They can't prove we did anything wrong which is why there no investigation and no ban. Out of respect we have pulled out of a deal because we had upset the other party, touch of class from Liverpool if you ask me. (Not saying that is right just trying to look at it from a different perspective. Everyone seems so quick to condem without knowing anything about it)

08 Jun 2017 21:56:42
Well.

Away from all the transfer discussions

Great to see our new recruit on target twice today against Italy 👍👍.

07 Jun 2017 20:18:35
On a brighter note, we still have the mighty Lovren and Klavan.

😂😂😂.

1.) 07 Jun 2017 20:36:37
Way to support the team lad.

Werent they part of the players who delievered champions league?

2.) 07 Jun 2017 20:26:40
I think I'm going to be sick. That's next season written off then.

3.) 07 Jun 2017 21:22:51
Get used to it because that's what we're going to end up with in defence. Expect to ship a lot of goals next year also. Donkeys at this club from top to bottom.

{Ed025's Note - sigh..

4.) 07 Jun 2017 21:27:22
Way to support my team? The sacrifices I've made following my team home and way for over 30 years!

Just like any supporter on here, I'm entitled to my opinion and you have no right whatsoever to tell me how to support my team - lad.

5.) 07 Jun 2017 21:30:29
Supermane they were part of the team that failed to win the league.

6.) 07 Jun 2017 22:09:42
Its not an opinion its an insult to two of our players.

The sacrifices you have made. Bloody hell lad its not like we did a leeds.

Champions league, fa cups, im sure you saw the 2001 season, infact you saw the last league win aswel. The players you have seen grace our club. Some on here can only dream of seing the fowlers, rushs, barnes etc.

Defo a 1st world problem there mate.

We have lost out on one alright cb. Still got the champions league next year. The leagues going to come, just be patient and remember when you actually got to see us win one unlike the rest of us.

7.) 07 Jun 2017 22:23:34
Some of these "fans" can be an embarrassment. We messed up move on crap happens.

Slate the team will do what exactly? We are not league title worthy haven't been for years that's the way it is BUT we have made strides to improve and the boys currently at the club got us to where we are now back in europes main comp.

Lighten up and stop making a show of LFC!

06 Jun 2017 12:16:58
If Chelsea or City approached this correctly, fair enough.

If not, surely they should be reported too

Am I mistaken, didn't we have a similar secenario with Clyne? I could be wrong.

1.) 06 Jun 2017 14:12:35
My point exactly, Nicky. Reports suggest that Pep and Conte spoke to VVD and his team as well but Saints aren't furious about that. I will say that we have been warned multiple times to stop at least showing a perception of tapping up players as two clubs at least (Fulham and Udinese) have us black-listed. Let's wait and see what happens.

I do agree in some respected MK and I wasn't necessarily referring to LFC directly when I said top players command the big salaries, as it is with football these days.

When you factor in all the costs when buying a player, I would rarely see value in today's game mate.

Except maybe Delle Ali of course, where our club failed to see the value in a £5m transfer. But we must have thought Benteke at £34m was value.

It's Bonkers.

Ron.

No worries matey, it wasn't a dig, I was hoping it was true as the Eds are the only ones to be taken seriously imo.
👍.

I rarely see Couthino bullied off the balll.

Playing him in a deeper role gives him the opportunity to see what's ahead and dictate the game, he can also make runs from deep.

I think it be perfect for when teams sit deep.

Good shout ed001.

I didn't know this about Tanner, I would 100% advise anyone interested in meeting some of the legends go and do so.

{Ed001's Note - he also organises footgolf days etc.}

That's true ED001, in fact, there are quite a few players from that era that are the same and I have met a fair few, just like you have mate.

The three I found really Good to have a chat to were, David Fairclough, Alan Kennedy and Jimmy Case, he is a really nice fella. Rushey is also a top bloke.

I don't want people to think I'm name dropping here, there is nothing worse. I've just been very fortunate over the years, to meet these players. My line of work involves marketing and one of the company's our marketing team deal with is carlesberg. So can sometimes get entry into the Carlesberg suite, where some of the oldies are, mingling with everyone, signing autographs, pictures etc.

{Ed001's Note - one of the old timers, Nicky Tanner, is now running events based out of the south of England, where you can meet all the old timer players. He is a really nice bloke Nick, his events are well worth attending if anyone is looking for a chance to get to meet some legends of the LFC past.}

I grew up watching Nicol, he was probably one of the most versitie players we had in the 80's. He played right across the back four, though his main postition was right back after Neal left. He also played in midfield and on occasions up front!

To say he doesn't understand the game is completed nonsense and as Burkeyboy said, embarrassing!

Our current set of defenders would learn a lot from Nicol!

{Ed001's Note - I have never heard Nicol say anything that wasn't heavily biased towards Liverpool. That is his big issue, he is a properly biased fan, who sees everything through big red blinkers.}
