Great to see James Milner continuing to do a very good job at left back. Remember all the debate on here only a few months ago about us not signing a left back? Well done Milner.

True Fitzy, I was excited about the team but was worried about the LB situation. I was even more worried hearing Milner was going to be tried at LB and now look, he's made the position his own, he's absolute quality there. He's in a total different league to Moreno. I will back any Liverpool player up but Moreno simply isn't good enough for Liverpool.

WHEN we're in the champions league next year we can't be having players like Moreno around he's nowhere near good enough for a CL team (or Liverpool), I think by summer he'll be on his way.

Speaking of all this Eds are we showing any interest in any particular LB that you know of?

{Ed001's Note - no, I believe Milner has done enough to hold down his place so far, from what I am told, and that they like the look of the Spanish lad in the 23s (Juanma I think, though I could be getting names mixed up as that is the name of my parents next door neighbour) as the long term future there. Moreno's attitude has been excellent, so the club are happy to continue with him as back up right now.}

With us having strong hopes of the U23's - Juanma you just mentioned, TAA, Woodburn, Wilson, Ojo, Ejaria, Gomes etc and the likes of Ings to come back I am truly hopeful that we don't have to make many signings moving forward and all these boys can make the step up.

I think it'd be great if Milner accepts to stay in the position for the next 2-3 years. I have no idea if he would or would not. But it would be ideal for LFC - hit several birds with one stone. You get not only skill, efficiency and dedication but a stabilizing senior leadership (which is vital if we are to challenge consistently for titles) . His weakness with the left foot is something that can be worked on and not exactly a deal breaker. Daniel Alves always had clear defensive weaknesses, but it never stopped him from being considered one of the best in the World.

Sounds good to me Ed1, Milner is sound as a pound in that position so I'm happy with that and to be fair I can't see many doing any better then he has done.

Just wondering if Ed001 has any insight into whether Milner would be happy to carry on at left-back instead of midfield?

{Ed001's Note - he is growing into it mate. He likes that he is playing well and realises that he suits a wide role, and understands it.}

Not a big moreno fan but deserves credit for his attitude.

If we get a new lb back in the summer maybe move Milner to right back to replace clyne? I'm sure he'd have better end product and is positionally sound.

Why replace clyne when we have Trent who can do the job. Keep Milner as LB. push Trent in.

Fair play to Milner for his professionalism, he was one player I was very frustrated with last season but he has turned into a real leader on the pitch, has won us a good few points with his peno's too. What I find most amazing with him was the fact that he joined Liverpool essentially to play in the centre of midfield, and it wasn't really working for him last season I felt, but he made me relaxed about the LB position, which has been a real trouble area for Liverpool since Riise left quite frankly. Long may it continue for both James and Liverpool. Well done our VC Milner. YWNA.

Milner is like a duracel battery
He just keeps at it constantly.
That consistency then works its way through the team.
Milner for me is one of our most important players.

Ben Chilwell .

Anyone remember him? No? 😄.

Ed1 I'd love it if you could do a bit of tapping up and make your parents next door neighbor re evaluate his life decisions and play for the pool.

{Ed001's Note - I am not so sure he is the answer. Though Sergio Ramos has a house down the road.....}

Milner is a model pro, works hard and has acquitted himself brilliantly at left back. He's also a good man to have in the squad because of he's a wise head. Good management by Klopp to look at his squad and what he can get from them than wasting money unnecessarily.

Sergio Ramos confirmed, put your house on it.
