eds, i know players get injured all the time, but it's seems that quite a number sustain an injury whilst on international duty! And particularly whilst training or similar etc is there a vast difference with the type and level of training within the international camp?

{Ed001's Note - yes, every team has a different method of training.}

why do all our young players get career threatening injuries at the most crucial stages of development?

absolutely woolback. That's a genuine concern. It would be massive task for the lad to come back from such a crucial injury. Lucas is one of the best example.

he is the future of lfc defence. All the best bud. Its not the end, work your ass off, get them legs super strong and you will better and stronger mentally. I've been there myself.

my thoughts are the same as woolback's - why is it that our young players always seem to suffer these serious injuries? Kelly, flannagan, gomez, teixeira, yesil - it seems endless. Feel very sorry for gomez - despite being 18 he'd already looked promising and done well, big setback for the lad - hopefully he can bounce back even stronger. Just curious but is england's training regime particularly damaging or badly managed? I only ask as we seem to always get players suffering injuries when on international duty with them.

gutted for him but he must stay positive. He's young, he'll heal quickly and bounce back stronger after this. He just needs to follow the professionals advice to the letter.

square tomato, so sorry to read the news about gomez. Please let him know that there is pioneering surgery available in australia, that is being demonstrated at lectures in the uk as i type. It reduces complete rehab from acl ruptures from 9 months to 6 weeks and also reinforces the ligament to avoid recurrence. The u. K. Medical system is not up to speed and i would hate to see another young prospects career blighted by injury.
