hi ed's, was just wondering if you are aware of any lfc interest in seville's Carlos Bocca. I think that this guy is the next big name striker we need. He really reminds me so much of luis. agressive, a battler, a finisher and a poacher with pace all in one. It's not beyond the realms of possibility this transfer, surely?? Thanks for all your hard work and dedication. The footie season almost done, butthen your silly season really kicks off !!

{Ed002's Note - Whilst Monaco, Spurs, Lazio and Inter (not Milan) have expressed an interest in Bacca, the player says he is happy with Sevilla and the future plans the club has.}

Hi eds, would you have any firm interest on players likely to leave? Moses and cissokho gone along with Alberto and who else? Aspas, sokolik, coady, jones, adjoran, coates, lucas? Enrique? Suso? Thanks. I know this is your busy season today!

makeusdream1892

{Ed001's Note - Aspas has interest from Spain, I forget who off the top of my head, but someone like Valencia.
Sokolik has gone, signed for Yeovil.
Sheff Utd made an offer for Coady, it was rejected. They were interested in either loan or perm, but loan we want a higher level, perm they didn't offer enough to tempt us to part with him.
Jones is likely to stay.
Adorjan has had little interest yet, but it is still early.
Coates has been away so no talks were held as we were hoping he would play and up his value. He is likely to leave, there was interest from Porto, I would assume to replace Mangala.
Lucas has longstanding interest from Napoli.
Enrique has little interest until he proves his fitness.
Suso has been dealt with repeatedly by Ed002, I only know he has been offered as part of some deals, but he has mentioned which deals, or deal it was.}

I believe that rodgers has taken this team as far as he can, hovering around 4th spot each season. But I also believe that he will be here next season. Fsg won't get rid of him this time around. We'll have a lot of outgoingplayers come june. stevie, balo, borine, lambert, jonno, and either allen or lucas., so Iits crucial we recruit quality not quantity. Personally, love to see new striker, cm, fb and dmc. ps. New home kit is a disaster. what's with the yellow necklace and the collar and oh how I wish for the 80s crest to have returned

What makes you so sure that FSG won't take action to remove BR from his post? FSG are seasoned business people, and will take every possible action they see fit. If that means removing BR, they will, if they think otherwise, they get rid.

There may not be much money to spend "sell to buy" policy (FFP etc) at the current tim. Also, would you trust BR to bring in quality?

2.) 10 Apr 2015 15:32:46
Trouble is we don't actually know who's buys are br (apart from Allen & studge) and who's are the committees

{Ed001's Note - considering the committee was only put in place before the last summer window, we can have a good idea that anything before that was nothing to do with any committee!}

3.) 10 Apr 2015 16:19:38
The committee was a horrific idea considering the people in it

Were missing out on CL plain and simple because of the poor players we sgined in the summer can is the only player whos preformed this season (other may still come good) bit they done haven't done enough this season

4.) 10 Apr 2015 17:01:54
Dezyboy2, the players that were signed were approved by Rodgers.

Every club has a scouting system. Our just has this fancy name called 'the transfer committee'.

Ed001, am I correct in saying that Rodgers would have gone to watch Markovic, Moreno, Manquillo, Can, Origi etc himself before we even signed them?

{Ed001's Note - he should have done, he certainly would have watched videos of them in action, if he couldn't get to see them live.}

5.) 10 Apr 2015 17:40:52
Thanks for the reply Ed001

The fact that Fallows and Hunter came from City should suggest that FSG were serious about bringing in adequate players as City have had success in recent years.

How they can be blamed for finding players who were as per the requirement of Rodgers is beyond me. It is not like they had to go scout Lovren, Lallana and Balotelli? Rodgers himself would have known about these players.

It would be interesting to know which other players Rodgers rejected from the shortlist.

Have we become a scapegoat club then?
Whatever happened to collective responsibility?

7.) 10 Apr 2015 23:45:39
No scapegoating, just telling the truth as it is with no BS nor excuse-making. BR is aweful at transfers since the day he walked in the door and that is not scapegoating, just the facts.

Interesting times ahead for lfc. looks more and more clear that balotelli allen johnson borini aspas suso and jones will be shipped out so holding on to sterling ibe and Henderson is a must. Personally, only javi martinez of bayern is capable of replacing gerrard and if we could get shaqiri vietto a new gk fb and cb and also bomb out loveren and skrtle then things won't be all doom and gloom.

Hi eds. just wondering if you know why adam morgan seemed to have been bombed out at Yeovil? What happened to him after only 3 months. is he off to st. Johnston. Anyway, main question is about lack of a striker in our reserves coming through. Plenty of great defenders and midfielders ( brannagan, suso, teixera, adjoran, jones, lussey, wilson, trikett smith etc. ) but no out and out striker. it has been glaring gap in first and reserves for a while now.

Hi eds,
What is your opinion on the transfer window closing nearly 2 weeks after opening game of season.? don't you think that it should close on midnight of first game? also, do you think the day will ever come when each club has a cap on how much money they can spend in each window? to make things fairer for all clubs and not justbthe rich top six? love to get your opinions

makeusdream1892

{Ed002's Note - The season starts at different times in different countries so there will always be a disparity. There is a cap on spending already in place from UEFA and will be further constraints issued by the EPL. Much depends on the income of the clubs of course, and some of the CL clubs want to self-regulate some of this - such as the cap on sponsorship in terms of FFP. This is the hot subject still and will dominate discussions when a number of sides meet to discuss several issues at the end of August in MC.

There remains a strong push from lower league sides to remove the transfer window altogether. There is mixed support for this from EPL sides.}
