Reports that adama Traore is ready to accept a move to us in favor of a move to stoke or villa.

Ed001 or 002 have we even bid? Or held any talks.

I know 002 confirmed we had an interest but that means nothing in today's markets with the amount of bloody players lol

Thanks

Forever96

{Ed002's Note - Ed002 confirmed that Liverpool were one of many clubs to ask about his availability - but as far as I know Liverpool have not put any proposal to Barcelona and a loan elsewhere seems more likely.}

Just wanted to say a thank you to the eds for bothering to run all these pages.

I found it two seasons ago and now I can't not check about a thousand times a day. Sky sports who.

You should definitely take them on. Edsources and all that. Get yourselves a banner.

I would love each page to have personal news from the club and news about the youth etx. Could any of that be run by individual users? Ie someone takes the u18 and posts updates. Results, injuries, motm, great performers and also someone to follow the loanees.

Thanks again

Keep up the good work.

I've gathered were not getting the boy now, but where do you think Traore (Barcelona) will end up??

Hope it's villa. I'm excited to see them next season haha (weird from a Liverpool fan) but I think there going ti be a surprise this season.

Forever96

1.) 04 Aug 2015 22:26:18
What? Aston Villa? Why are they going to be exciting?

2.) 04 Aug 2015 22:59:10
What's this I hear about a buy back clause that barca insist on? They're always at that!! How can they consistently do this!?

3.) 04 Aug 2015 23:03:02
A friend in work, a huge Villa fan, is adamant they'll be top half no bother.

I think a good season for them would be to avoid relegation comfortably and to discover one or two good young players from their academy or a signing to do superb.

4.) 05 Aug 2015 07:35:49
They've lost their 2 stand out players and have a plonker of a manager. They'll be in as much trouble as they usually are if not more!

5.) 05 Aug 2015 07:37:25
I think they've signed some really good players, and a lot of unknowns instead of recycled players that you already know.

Think they will do alright top half easy like

6.) 05 Aug 2015 08:34:26
We said the same two years ago when Southampton lost three players.

7.) 05 Aug 2015 08:47:36
Forever96, I have to disagree. I think the general mood from villa fans is less than optimistic and you can easily see why - they've sold two international players and the replacements are not of the same level.

8.) 05 Aug 2015 08:53:43
Last year may have been slow and painful Harry but it still only counts as one year ;) agree with Sean though a good season for villa is to stabilize themselves maybe get to about 10-12 places but try not be involved in a relegation scrap and be safe with 5-6 games to spare would be a decent building platform

9.) 05 Aug 2015 09:26:30
Shanek

Southampton got the correct replacement and we all know y Lovren excelled at saints.

They ll struggle this time. Morgan is one hell of a player.

10.) 05 Aug 2015 12:29:50
fair comment harry on saints,

i do think however that they were a decent side who lost good players. villa are a side who have been poor for a few years now and lost their best players.

koeman is well above sherwood though. it staggers me that he is a football manager. he managed to breathe some confidence into a struggling villa team and just about got them out of trouble. but once that initial impact is lost, you're left with the same struggling team.

Ed001 I enjoy getting your view on players so here's a few just for some work for you to get on with haha.

Kane do you think he is a one hit wonder?

Is ibra really any good, personally I've never seen the fuss but toy most probably know better than me.

And how good are r lewondowski and lacazette??

Forever96

{Ed001's Note - no, but he is not this world superstar he is being made out to be by the media. He is a very good young player who works extremely hard and will no doubt have a successful career in the Prem.

Ibra is a very good player, he is not up there with Messi and Ronaldo, or in the next tier with Suarez, but just below that. He was alovely touch on the ball and very technically skilled, he is like Berbatov, but with more quality.

Lewandowski is one of the best out and out strikers in world football, he is class mate. Wasted at Bayern, but then they don't really need him the way they play, Muller suits them better.

I am not sure on Lacazette, I have not seen enough of him play to really give an opinion, though what I saw was impressive.}

1.) 03 Aug 2015 06:13:22
Lewa is the most complete striker in the world right now who is available and behind the elite Suarez - Messi and Ronaldo. He is a better player than Falcoa was in his prime.

2.) 03 Aug 2015 08:16:25
Cheers ed001.

I know you have the player profiles bit but you should try doing a page where you have the player, and follow it with which ever eds want to write thier view.

Suarez

Ed001 little runt
Ed002 wanted to take us to court.

It could get banter going between all the eds, as all the opinions will differ haha

Thats just an idea from early in the morning. It is crap and vague but always thougjt something like that would be good.

When you go through the different pages you see all the different personalities of the eds come through :)

Maybe an eds prediction page aswel. Anf the winner can get something for there resident pages like a trophie or porn video haha .

Wow I've really gone on there ed sorry haha

{Ed001's Note - the profiles now allow us to have a number of different editors' (or even random posters if they wish to do so) views on a player on a single page. Each time a profile of a player that is already done is added to the database it will just add to the information on the page, rather than replace it with a fresh profile. So, over time, you will be able to see how views change on the players profiled, especially if one editor profiles the same player a few times over the course of time, you will be able to read down and see what his/her previous view was on the player.}

3.) 03 Aug 2015 09:09:35
Better than falcao in he's prime ?? Falcao in he's prime was the best striker in the world . He was devastating. Lewandowski is a top top player no doubt . I'd put aguero ahead of him tho . He on he's day and without injury is awesome .

4.) 03 Aug 2015 09:46:30
Aguero is only below Suarez IMO. He is devastating when fit. Hardly plays more than 20 league games yet end up scoring 20 goals every season. He is just incredible.
Lewa is the the best of the bunch available now. Fantastic talent and technique. Aguero is the 4th best striker behind Suarez.

To be pessimistic and to fit in with the new breed of fans.

I would lose a lot of the optimism we have for this season. After that friendly if Brendan doesn't start with a dm we will get a lot more 6-0 stoker results this season.

Henderson and Milner leave us far too open and migs isn't a sweeper to make up for the lack of defensive capabilites we have.

I also feel Henderson is absolutely terrible unless he is allowed to be the pressing monster he was in the 13/14 season. He is about 1% of the player he can be if he isn't allowed to be free. He will come to life this season if we play we a dm. I love him but not unless he is let of his leash and I mean free of instructions aswel, we're to stand, how many goals he needs to score etc he is so much more when he can do what he wants

And migs is terrible aswel.

Chirivellas football mind is stunning btw to be positive. Know exactly what the game is.

That is all.

1.) 01 Aug 2015 20:36:02
I wouldn't take a lot from the Pre season friendlies unless you are not serious about it.
Lucas is a must and without We would concede.

Henderson is neither a CM nor a DM, He is an attacking midfielder and should be inside the opposition box.

Ibe is a definite starter and should be ahead of Lallana any day for me.

You need sheer pace on the flanks to beat your man and that makes Ibe and Markovic a must IMO.

Cheers

2.) 01 Aug 2015 20:37:52
Sense

3.) 01 Aug 2015 21:16:39
Yeah European I wasn't too interested in the goals, play or effort tbh just the system.

You can see that Henderson and Milner have been instructed to play on a pivot, one drops and the other goes but it's just to much freedom and besides the one who drops doesn't actually possess any good defensive qualities

I promise you euro he ain't starting with lucas in the hole. Allen and can before him but I'm certain it's Hendo and Milner on there own.

And Henderson isn't anything tbh none of cdm, cm, cam as in speciality he is a go were the thw action is player as his biggest attribute is his engine and it needs to be put the use.

Everyone bangs on about his goals because gerrard and Lampard creates this goal scoring mid culture. Hendo doesn't need to add goals because by trying ti get into those positions he is going away from were he is effective. His best season was 13/14 and he didn't score many did he? But thete wasn't many performing better than him.

The strikers, wingers and tens need ti find the goals not Hendo.

Think of the Tottenham 2013 game 5-0

Henderson
Allen
Lucas

Nice balance and he was fabulous, I kbow he scored but he was so much more that day and I honestly thought there's gerrard replacement, and not the super moments but the chemistry he supplied to the likes of alonso and mash.

4.) 01 Aug 2015 23:36:32
Have to disagree here although yes his 13/14 season was very good, he stood out a lot more in the 14/15 season for me, I think the season before had matured him a little we saw him creating and both scoring more, how you can argue that is bad for the team I'm not quite sure but I think Hendo will be even better this season, Coutinho and Hendo were the shining lights in a poor last season, anyway Hendo is the better player out of himself and Milner imo

5.) 02 Aug 2015 04:34:02
Ibe and markovic are musts? Bloody hell you talk some rubbish

6.) 02 Aug 2015 06:00:04
We just have too many players in my opinion.

7.) 02 Aug 2015 08:26:46
Chirivela is the kind of player who would suit Barcelona. He is incredibly calm on the ball and is good at pass and move in tight areas, possession keeping footblll. He will need to build some body strength and work on the defensive side of his game, and with some luck, we might have a brilliant playmaker on our hands.

8.) 02 Aug 2015 09:10:05
We will have to agree to disagree Mr c.

Last season was abysmal and the like of Henderson and coutinho weren't actually that good, but we're better than the rest.

Henderson is neither a goal scoring mid or a deep lying play maker and he definitely not a defensive mid.

He really should be up and down using that engine, let him use his own initiative. When to pass, when to run, cross etx etc

He cab be really good but don't over rate people because he is a red and the captain. He set huge standards in 13/14 and be needs to get back to that, but Brendan needs to help him.

9.) 02 Aug 2015 11:59:21
Hendo would probably be a really good right mid just as gerrard was utilised for some time under benitez, never runs out of energy, has a good cross, decent defensive awareness and makes decent runs

No chance of us playing a flat 4 in midfield though

Yeah ........

Forever96

{Ed002's Note - You really are turning out to being a brain-dead troglodyte. You clearly don't understand how the rankings work. You don't understand the success other sides have had in Europe in recent years. You are living in the past - most of Liverpool's success came before most of the posters here were born.}

It's already been made clear we wanted to keep him.

He wanted the move.

Good luck lad

Consistency is key for him.

Yeah we didn't too bad either for England's ratings 05/09 weren't we top of eufa rankings

Arsenal did well aswel when they won it, aswel as city :)

Forever96

{Ed002's Note - You should begin your posts with "Speaking from a position of ignorance,". Putting aside Liverpool not being top of the rankings for those years (2005/06 - 19th; 2006/07 - 3rd; 2007/08 - 4th; 2008/09 - 7th; 2009/10 - 10th), it is of no more significance than Huddersfield Town being the top side in the 1920s. Nothing, nada, zip - it is history.

As for your quip about Arsenal, they have consistently been above Liverpool (who are now ranked 55th in Europe) and have been instrumental in helping England maintain a good position in Europe - whereas Liverpool have contributed nothing whatsoever. Manchester City have been far more successful in Europe in the five year period that counts for this than Liverpool.

Your post is very embarrassing reading for those Liverpool posters who do understand how this works.

Not really 80mil down the drain Essex.

There good players we have signed, who have also signed for our football club on long contracts.

If Brendan fails this year he will be gone.

Someone else will come in to a great team.

Eds you tried to explain to another poster above.

I know we had bad defending, poor results, bad performances etc but at that point vs Chelsea the league was ours to lose with 3 games to do we just needed to

WWD

we couldn't exactly try to win against hull in jan incase gerrard slipped later on in the league.

The league was ours for the taking.

And wassa so somehow your now trying to blame Brendan lol

For the record it was not gerrards fault he slipped, it was unlucky he was on his own in the middle, it was unlucky aswel the level of game it was.

But he still slipped.

Stop thinking you have to defend gerrard as if none of you have slated his performances last season lol
