Was Elliot injured? sure he should be coming on instead of Gravenberch? And Jones is a class act and our best midfielder on current form. He will only get better. Firmly becoming one of my favourite players in the team, but I always said he was class - never had any doubts.

I have to admit I am not a big fan of Jones, but he has been excellent this season. His composure is top class infront of the goal and he can drive with the ball. Good chance he will end up as our top goal scorer from Midfield.

I think Elliott was not brought on because of the physicality of the Newcastle midfield. Klopp gave that reason for not bringing him own against Brentford, and I think it's a fair guess. Elliott can be a bit lightweight, and Newcastle have bullies like Joelinton and Guimaraes.

I think your spot on thekoparmy
Height aswell they are quite a big team Newcastle and I think that’s why gravenberch was given the nod . Elliot starts against Arsenal aswell now definitely whether it be for mo or dom is the question.

Indeed, Thekoparmy. That is a more than plausible reason. And/ Or Klopp was saving his legs for the Arsenal game at the weekend where his running, enerfy and superb technical ability on the ball will be needed esp. now that it seems Szobo has picked up a hamstring injury. Hopefully, that's not too serious.

Elliott is more physical than Gravenberch though Kop Army.

One redeeming quality I found out about Gravenberch last night is that he is not slow. If he was slow in relation to everything else we would be doomed with him. Thankfully I saw pace there last night when he sprinted forward for one attack. Just laziness so and not a pace issue.

What I'm currently trying to grapple with him is whether he is crazy lazy or so scared of his life of getting hurt. He might be leaving runners go because his terrified if he goes with them, he might have to tackle. I think it's both but he definitely plays scared. Similarly he plays scared with the ball. Almost like he is afraid to get on it.

He has pluses on the ball. If you play it to him with pace, he has a nice little turn that can break the lines. Please don't mistake this turn for elite technical ability but it's a handy little trick that he seems to pull off a lot.

He is a good dribbler.

I think he has really good vision. He doesn't often have the passing to execute but I've notice he almost always sees the right runner which is a great quality to have. We don't see it all that often as he doesn't get on the ball a lot to use it.

Ultimately, his skills on the ball need work but there's a very useful player in there on the ball.

The not getting stick in on the ball and particularly off it make him detrimental to the system. It really is like playing with ten men when he is on the pitch.

Elliott brings everything Gravenberch brings right now and in addition presses hard and tackles. He is 100 times ahead of Gravenberch right now.

Gravenberch must come out of the team/ squad. He needs to work hard on eliminating the fear and lack of energy. We cannot afford to teach him those skills with first team opportunities while we are in a title race. You can have no passengers holding off City in a title race and he is a full on bonafide passenger. If we persist in giving him opportunities ahead of far more deserving players, absolute zero doubt in my mind, it will cost us any chance at the league. With his disadvantages right now, he is just that bad. One of the worst players in the league right now.

I've said it before, this guy needs to be integrated on the training ground. Hard physical training. Beat the fear out of him do to speak.

If he works hard and becomes fearless, there's certainly qualities to work with.

I’d agree with that @davey sulls

Last night he offered more to Newcastle than us I thought . I’m all for getting behind our own players but he needs to want it it’s like he’s not arsed I’ve stuck up for him a lot and not so long ago on here but he needs to start showing a desire to be playing for us not. I hope the lads in the dressing room get on his back and call it out as much as they do look after him as we need everyone maximum effort no passengers.

Davey, I still rate Gravenberch as a work in progress. Nothing more, at this point, IMO.

I don't see that logic with Elliot? didn't he come on when we was down to 10 in the game vs Newcastle? just think Klopp maybe thought Gravenberch could give us something different in the game.

The only thing Gravenberch has over Elliott is height but I'd like to see the video of Gravenberch winning one defensive header.

Elliott is the player I would be giving the opportunities to. He is the special young talent we have. I know he will easily win out in a battle of pecking order with Grav but i hope it's realised by the coaching staff sooner rather than later for our sakes.

@Davey got to agree with that. Fellas no slouch if he could add that final pass we will do well with him.

I personally never understood the Gravenberch signing…. still, here’s hoping he settles and proves a valuable player for us!
