I see a lot of these transfer reviews. Isn’t it bordering on impossible to judge the success of transfers 4 games in?

Easypeasysqueezy, I don't think it possible with the way football is reported or covered in today's society.

Sure. Time will tell of course. Maybe I should call it my preview thoughts of the window. If that makes sense. It probably doesn't.

Enjoyed that Davey. Can’t really disagree with much.

What I will add is the new Midfield brings the excitement back to Liverpool Football Club.

Last year just wasn’t enjoyable in 90% of the games, Personally I just didn’t Like the team at all, not only was it poor it was Boring too.

We have a lot to be excited about now! The joy is back. This Szoboszlai kid is a fantastic signing.

Didn’t mean any disrespect, Davey.

Good post Davey

Didn’t lose interest so don’t worry about length (that’s what the Mrs tells me ?) .

Agree with pretty much all you’ve said. Will be interesting to see how Endo turns out. He doesn’t have the pace and the power but he’s very intelligent as a footballer and could have a similar impact at DM as Thiago has at CM (without the injuries of course)

Stefan has to be given time and the opportunities to become a part of the first 11. He can be the future but it’s down to him. Klopp clearly trusted him last season

Next most important signing is LCD. Virg worries me. Don’t see a captain in him and he’s not anywhere near his former self. Challenge for Klopp managing that situation, but that’s why he’s paid the big bucks.

Only thing I really found “odd” about the article, is the claim that Lavia would move us closer to the title THIS SEASON than what we got. A lot to expect from a kid imo. I get your point tho and ideally the market had shown us a feasible option for a clear improvement for the cdm position that could have made us expect a title challenge. But besides that it’s hard for me to disagree or argue any of your points mate. A good read and loved the final section with the high hopes! YNWA.

Great write up Davey, thank you for that.
I agree with you on the defence, a challenger for Virgil would’ve been great. The midfield for me depends on how we play. If Trent stays wide and we play with double 6’s instead of one out an out dm I think it could work with the players we have. Thank you for your time and effort, it was a great read.
Baker.

A great read Davey and I agree with most of it. The Lavia/ Caicedo debacle didn't leave a good taste in my mouth and I though it could and should have been better handled. However, I'm not really sure how much Schmadtke had a say in all that. He came in as a short-term solution so I would assume that he wouldn't have much say in our transfer strategy. I think he had to go through loads of other people and get their approval, hence why there was such a huge gap in between the bids. Still, it was a poor strategy to get a short-term DOF instead of getting in a permanent one.
