Every chance there is nothing in it anyway, but I am definitely warming to the idea of us signing Mason Mount.

For me, he doesn't have the quality to play in a creative attacking for a top team - but I could see him becoming a great, high-energy box-to-box midfield player. Different players of course but similarities to what we did with Gini Wijnaldum.

Puts a shift in, deceptively physical, moves the ball quickly and has an eye for goal. All attributes that would be welcome in our midfield.

A midfield (In Klopp’s system) consists of three units.

1. RCM ( We need a real enforcer here, Prime Kante is what we need, Caceido / Anguisa / Kone ) .

2. Holding Mid ( We need an upgrade on Fabinho and (Bruno Guimaraes) and Baj can rotate for the rest of their career at LFC) .

3. The Sweeper / Playmaker (It’s Thiago’a Den, wouldn’t mind an upgrade, preferably Enzo Fernandez)

Mount doesn’t fit in anywhere here mate. Sorry

Midfield (Ljinders system)
1. Holding mid (see above, )

2. RCM / LCM (Progressive midfielders who can dribble, take on a man, get up and down in the box on a regular basis, Score and assists, Technically very good

Nunes / Bellingham / Thiago / prime Modric / Barella / Prime Veratti / Zielenski

Doubt we are getting any one of them!

When we was winning champions league titles and winning the league, there was no money available.
So I don’t understand now how we seem to think £300m+ is going to be available in 6 months when we can’t afford naff all now
A sale is nowhere near.

I can get on board with that. We need what keita is supposed to do/ what wijnaldum did and I can see mount in that role. English too so wouldn't be a bad thing.

A good player that would improve our midfield and a HG bonus. That is a low bar though given the state of our current midfield options.

If he's one of 4 midfield incomings, then I would be ok with it. He wouldn't, however, solve our current issue of being unable to win duels and track opposition runners.

I suspect he'll get the deal he is looking for at Chelsea.

It’s the fact he’d cost so much though and he ‘might’ work or he ‘might’ fit we’ve been shoehorning players into the team far too often recently i think he’d be another. A lot of Chelsea fans seem to like the idea of getting rid and their midfield is as bad as ours.

I'm surprised people aren't more excited about the idea of Mount signing, I think the lad is the real deal but has been wasted by his last two managers by being played in a none position halfway between a winger and a CAM.
Not that I think he'll leave Chelsea anyway, especially if they signed his mate Rice Rice baby.

Very good player, can move the ball quickly forward has a great engine and has goals in him from midfields does track back and happy to do dirty work if needed. if the club do have interest and that's a big if. he'd be a great player for us.

Surely we have enough mediocre midfielders who lose the ball cheaply in midfield and don’t chase back? He must be the player the club are lining up as there’s no money for Bellingham. If the rumours are true, we’ll be selling Salah and bringing in Mount which is Balotelli levels of bad business.

That's complete garbage Mfdoom. Balotelli levels of bad? Balotelli completely dragged the name of the club through the mud. I don't ever see Mount doing the same if he were to come here.

And who is saying that we'll be selling Salah to fund him? That's utter nonsense. They don't even play the same position for starters. I doubt that we'll be selling the player we just gave a mega contract to.

And Mount will still cost a lot regardless so it makes no sense at all that he'll be lined up if we have no money for Bellingham.

I'm all for constructive criticism and am open to differing opinions. But the type of mental gymnastics people do on here to fit their own narrative and bash the club is astounding.

I honestly think Mount would be great for us. He never stops running and has an eye for goal too - I rate the guy and think he'd slot in well. Comes across well in interviews etc, seems very down to earth. He's English too, would help us out in the homegrown issues we have - great player.
