So happy to see 2 defenders in defence, Fab in midfield also with Fab in the centre of the park Thiago given license to play his game, Jota back in the side alongside Salah and Mane and of course us through to the quarter finals.

Agreed. Can't wait to see Thiago in a midfield with Fab and Henderson. Would any of you replace Firmino with Jota full time? I'm not sure I would. yet.

Seeing Fab in midfield just showed me what might have been this season, really. Thiago did not look a diff. player to me. He simply looked the player that me and many of us thought he would be with Fab behind him.

As for Bobbie and Jota, that is a strawman argument that makes no sense to me. This should not be an either/ or issue. Many great coaches find ways to get as many of their best players as possible on the pitch together. IMO, we should be finding ways of playing both of them together instead of this straw man rubbish of "who would/ should miss out" that many engage in.

@stone Unless form drops of dramatically it’s Jota for me. But having said that Jota and Firmino can both be in the side with rotation and it’s not like Mane is setting the world alight. For me Mane is the one that needs to be dropped due to current form.

@OliRed that first line got me. I think despite our injuries if Fab was in the midfield, at the very least we would be in the top 4 spots.

@IDreamOfGini Good shout. Rotating the front 3 is key to keeping them on their toes as well as keeping them fit.

Unless Klopp is looking to change formation (he played all 4 a couple of times this season) then i think having Jota back is a great option to help rotate the front 3 around rather than trying to shoe horn all 4 in just so Bobby doesn't get dropped. Like saying when VVD, Joe and Matip are back let's play all 3 or Hendo, Fab, Wiji and Thiago when all fit. It was said that Salah and Mane would struggle to score without Bobby and no other player in world football can do what Bobby does. Well i thought Jota did that last night and more. He was instrumental in our first goal. Also without Bobby dropping all the time it actually created more space for Thiago and Wijnaldum to break into. Its clear Bobby and Mane have not been themselves this season and Jota returning is a good problem for Klopp to have and allows more options and rotation.

Well, on last nights performance, Jota would be gutted if he was dropped. He didn't score, but that will be only a matter of time. Far better TEAM performance.

{Ed0666's Note - there was more movement with Jota in the side than there has been with Bobby in the team now wether that’s coincidence or design I’ll leave that up to you guys to decide??

Agree Ed - I thought there were far more runs in behind and movement off the shoulder of the last defender than when we have Bobby playing. It also explains why Thiago looked so dangerous IMO.
