Ed do you know the general feeling toward minamimo at the club? Is he seen as having a big future and just trouble settling? Or is he seen as not what they hoped and possibly moved on?

{Ed001's Note - he is very quiet and shy and struggling to fit in.}

So he us just like me😂.

{Ed001's Note - apart from the quiet and shy bit, yes, just like you.}

Best if Minamino moves on for his own sake. He is never going to get the run of games to establish himself in the first team and if its true he is shy and withdrawn, its best he moves to a lesser club (no disrespect intended) where the expectations, fan and media scrutiny is a little less.
This has another Iago Aspas, Suso and Luis Alberto situation written all over it. Don't be surprised to see him at club like Leipzig, Leverkusen or Wolfsburg tearing it up in the Bundesliga in a few years time.

{Ed001's Note - where on earth do you get that from? He will be fine.}

A couple of goals and a couple of good performances and he will soon fit right in. He will get a chance next week in the CL no doubt.

Ed001 any idea if his signing has had a big impact for us in the Asian market. I know they are premier league mad down there already so I’d imagine the fact we been doing well under klopp would put us in a good position there already.

{Ed001's Note - it has had a decent impact, but it is difficult to really judge since the lockdown. Once things get back to something like normality, I expect it to benefit us a lot more.}

I hope you guys take this comment in the positive spirit that it is meant but if I was still picking players for eight-a-side teams in the Liverpool Business Houses League, as I did in the seventies and eighties, Minamino would be the first name on my team sheet.

From the day he arrived at LFC I just couldn't picture him having any impact what-so-ever in the Premier League, which is brutal, and I still can't.

Just my opinion.

Wow, great support for a player who is struggling to find his place in a superb team and for whom C. V lockdowns and lack of chances, has not helped his adaptation on and off the pitch.

I seem to remember how well many of us on this thread, were looking forward to him due to the good preseason he had and how well he played in the League Cup games and played well in the CL at Ajax when we needed him the most but I guess all that went up in smoke cos he is not lighting it up in the less than limited chances he has gotten. How he can do that without playing a good run of games, I have no idea but I guess he is crap so why bother?

It looked very obvious how shy he was during the PL trophy presentation. Poor lad just looked a little out of place to me. Really hope it works out for him with us he’s got plenty of ability and a great player to have in the squad.

Spot on, NewyorkshireRed and J6. The guy has immense ability and we all saw it with our own eyes at Anfield when he was ripping us a new one at will. But I guess none of that matters cos he is not becoming “insert great player here” fast enuff.

Not a single poster on this thread has commented on the player's footballing ability, which in my view, is without question. But you need more than that to be effective in a brutal league. I'm surprised so many of you are struggling with this.

Buzzer says above that Minamino may well be tearing up the Bundesliga in a couple of years time, he is probably spot-on.

He may be quiet and shy, but I was really disappointed with the lone figure he cut during the trophy presentation. He was pretty much ignored by all, until Hendo got a hold of him and included him. Real Captain stuff there.

At least 50% of the game is mental. And that mental affects your confidence the moment you step on to the pitch. An attacking player's confidence will be affected by his key passes, assists and goals, whereas the defender's will be affected by the number of tackles and blocks. It's not rocket science.

The moment Taki gets a goal or two you will see a difference in his demeanour and confidence. Most of you will laugh but I don't see a huge difference between Taki and Firmino. Taki presses like a demon already, he needs to hit the net a few times and get more experience playing with Salah and Mane (to get that "playing blindfolded with each other" stage our front 3 play with) . That's what's missing.

He's being talked about here like he was another Keita. I don't see that at all. He can press and he can shoot (we saw that last year in Austria) . All he needs is that one night during an important game where everything goes right and things will start to flow. As we are seeing with Kelleher now.
