Just out of curiosity what midfielder from the below would be the preferred choice. Possible any of them could sign but who would be the one you would choose.

Fekir.
Van Der Beek.
Fernandes.
Pépé.

Although all seem great players I think I'd still prefer Fekir.

Fekir offers more goals and assists combined I think. Van der beek is more of a Lampard type player arriving in the box late to get on the end of things. Fernandes is more the coutinho type of creative player pepe is a goalscorer so if go fekir personally.

I don't see the need for the high rating on Van der Beek. He's an okay winger and that's about it. Just because his team did surprisingly well this year, media is jumping on the bandwagon of declaring him a star.

Pepe, he is going to be special.

Yeah I'm not convinced on van de beek either. Was the advanced midfielder in a team who scored crazy number of goals. He doesn't look much better than klaasen did in an ajax shirt. Fekir with only a year left on his contract would certainly represent the best value.

Pepe is not worth the price. He's too one footed and doesn't contribute enough out of possession. Very good forward but not €80m good.

Van Der Beek is riding the crest of wave. Think Davy Klaassen. He's massively over rated and simply not good enough.

Fernandes I've only seen a few times but he looks fantastic. Maybe a bit lightweight but players can adapt

Fekir is everything we are missing, with a dodgy knee. I'd take the risk personally. I think he's worth it. Creativity and goals from midfield without compromising on work rate.

Van de Beek is not a winger.

Surely Lyon would have to accept 30 million or so this summer instead of meeting him run out his contract. Surely be a no brainer, another season without his knee showing major issues, for the same money Wilson and Kent will make, and most likely similar wages and fees that sturridge was robbing us, we'd get a player in mid 20s with a giant step up in ability. He doesn't seem to be as hot a property this summer and can't think of many clubs superior to Lyon who would offer him guarantee star role. Looks shrewd business to me. Unless his knee was deemed a complete NO by our doctors, or if there's any ill feeling left over from last summer on his behalf. Lyon squad over the season has seen the likes of dembele, cornet, depay, aouor, prove their worth. Fekir wouldn't be as big a loss for them either.

disagree red92, his contribution could be worth a lot of money if he can stay and get them into the champions league!

4 very different players really. Fekir the only one really who can play wide and central. I wouldn't dream of spending 70 million on a player who's only just had his breakthrough year now in a weaker league. The likes of gervinho, Ben arfa, malouda, cabella, thauvin, chamakh, Remy, lavezzi, James, lemar, toivennan, . None of them could ever make the step up after after just 1 year great year In ligue 1. Fekir has at least shown a few years of quality, like lacazette, moutinho, fabinho. For 70 million I'd want to be getting a son, sane, dybala or a Saul. Not a gamble. Proven ability shown at the highest level over a few years at that age.

Spot on, Har_red92. Fekir is proven in the French Ligue for the past 5 years at least even tho, Pepe is the real deal and Ed01 says we are interested in both. I would pick Fekir over Pepe for now, tho.

I don't think any of them are great ATM but the potential is there. I don't know enough about them to make a call. Whoever the club chooses I support as they have signed some greats recently. It has been said Pepe won't come to rotate.
