Starting to see rumours circulating that we have made contact regarding Kalvin Phillips availability, is anybody aware of whether the rumours are true or not?

I'm just wondering. I can't remember the last time we were successful with a loan. And then ended up buying the player. Absolutely nothing is coming to mind. Can anybody else remember any player?

The only one that sort of counts I suppose ArAy would be Mascherano. Pretty sure when we first signed him we didn’t technically sign him (or all of him? ) Something to do with ownership or something like that when he came over with Tevez but I do remember we properly ‘signed’ him a year or two after he started playing for us.
Traditional pins though no we have been terrible for as long as I can remember. Since the early 00’s we’ve had several big/ known names join and none have worked out. Just if the top of my head there’s Anelka, Sahin, Cissokho, Arthur, Moses, Manquillo, Calker and Kabak. None have worked out.

If we sign him then we’ve learnt nothing from signing Arthur. Overweight, slow, unfit and injury prone. Notwithstanding the fact he’s simply not good enough.

I believe Sahin was unlucky due to be played out of position by Rodgers, Anelka was good and I believe should have been signed, but for some reason the club changed their minds.

Philips would be a great signing, sure he didn't hit the ground running but he's definitely a talented player.

Philips is a cracking player who made a bad decision to go to Man City.
