Enzo Fernandez on a pre contract for June - fake news or a grain of truth?

{Ed002's Note - How could that possibly be true?}

Naby Keita is how it could be true! Same deal as with RBL or am I misremembering the pre contract that he signed a year before he joined?

{Ed002's Note - That was with RBL and the player - if Liverpool are negotiating directly with the player it is tapping up again. They know the process and he has a release clause. People are sick of the cheating.}

And Bellingham? And Mbappe? Is it April fools day already?

I’d say it’s a non starter. Which world class player will genuinely want to join a side who look in such decline, who simply don’t have the money and at this point look highly unlikely to achieve champions league football. He’ll likely have far better options in the summer, a harsh reality of where we are due to massive debt and lack of proper investment and renewal in the squad.

Ed002 what is being reported is that they’ve negotiated a transfer whether its summer or January for Enzo is unclear but they mean pre negotiated transfer with Benfica! I imagine its bull either way mate? Although would love it to be true lol.

{Ed002's Note - Benfica know nothing about it. They have made clear there is no negotiation. He has a clause which will allow a club to talk to the player if they agree to pay it in one lump sum.}

So Chelsea have a 'potential' pre contract deal with Nkunku and it's all fine and above board.

Liverpool have a 'potential' pre contract deal with Enzo and it's 'tapping up' and 'cheating'.

It's actually hilarious. Perhaps it is just all the media outlets making up a story but as fans we hope it may have some truth to it. WE ARE NOT SAYING IT IS TRUE! If Benfica are saying they know nothing about it, fine, end of, but to spout the same boring anti-Liverpool vitriol is juvenile.

And before you say it, yes I know 'the two deals are unrelated'. Duh.

{Ed002's Note - You have to be some sort of moron. Chelsea has an agreement with RBL and the player. Liverpool know what they have to do but have not approached Benfica who only signed the player in July.}

Ed002 I don’t know nothing of this transfer but if a player has a release clause is it ok to speak to his agent about a contract to see a deal can be done.
If you are going to pay release fee don’t need clubs permission do you.
Not that I think we are signing the player or not and not Liverpool question, just a question in general.
Cheers ed.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs can speak to agents at any time - it is nothing to do with any contract clauses. If the clubs wants to pay the release fee then that needs to be agreed with his club. If yet again Liverpool are looking to tap up a player it is really truly awful.}

Thanks Ed mate! Think that clears things up for them :) Couldn’t see a glimmer of truth to it myself as to why they’d agree it now so early! Thanks again for all you do.

How much is the buy clause eds2 if you don’t mind answering it mate?

{Ed002's Note - €120M - which needs to be paid in a single cash payment.}

8.) 12 Dec 2022
12 Dec 2022 22:11:25
€120M, there goes that then lol no way we have that amount of money to splash on one player.

{Ed002's Note - Bellingham will cost more than that.}

9.) 12 Dec 2022
12 Dec 2022 22:57:24
Ed002 with the numbers involved then do you see us capable of stumping up that amount realistically?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, as an alternative to Bellingham but the club are looking for investment or a sale which adds a complication.}

10.) 13 Dec 2022
13 Dec 2022 08:01:43
Ed so any potential deals for either player is dependant on either new owners coming in or cash investment?

{Ed002's Note - No, it is dependent on many things. Liverpool do not have a magical way to simply sign players.}

11.) 13 Dec 2022
13 Dec 2022 12:39:45
Ah it's the old, only Liverpool and Klopp tap players up and cheat, happening for years from all clubs, it's part of the game and always has been, it's not suddenly arrived because of Klopp, maybe the rules should be changed that no agents can talk to anyone without club permission.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp is a serial cheat and liar. You need to understand this.}

12.) 13 Dec 2022
13 Dec 2022 13:01:01
I do but he isn't the only one, Pep has done it, Fergie, Jose they all do it, it's like trying to be all moral on the owners, it's top level football, morals don't exist on the levels of the real world, just seen also that Bellingham isn't financially driven so that works in our favor as no doubt FSG are going to drag this sale out and leave us high and dry.

13.) 13 Dec 2022
13 Dec 2022 15:52:41
Klopp is a serial cheat sound tell us how Chelsea have £646m and only recouped £237m plus they are buying Nkunku for £50m and don't forget about the £1.4B that roman abramovich pumped it the club for player who is the biggest cheat here.

What other clubs or coaches do is irrelevant. Klopp has been tapping players up numerous times over the years. Grow up instead of acting like a child. I love Klopp but he has to stop the tapping up. Easier to speak to agents than the players directly to avoid all this.

15.) 14 Dec 2022
14 Dec 2022 02:38:53
Whether other teams do it or not, if tapping up is illegal then Klopp should expect to be called out on it if he does it.
But i do have a question for Ed2 - i think youve said in the past that the club can talk to the agent to get a feel for if he would be willing to join them and maybe some idea of what sort of package he would be looking for. Or does this also count as tapping up as well?

{Ed002's Note - Clubs can speak with agents regardless - there is no issue with that. What they cannot do is speak directly to or make offers to players contracted to other clubs.}

Judging by the new sporting directors comments at benfica it sounds like they will not sell in January unless as ed002 has said the clause is triggered which they can't stop. It did sound like they would be open to negotiation a little bit in the summer though. Obviously not going to be cheap still but maybe a little bit off the full but out.
