We don't get much French Football over here in Australia, just wondering how Tiago Ilori is progressing with Bordeaux? Is he an option for us bring back into the first team next season?

{Ed002's Note - Ilori was injured for much of the season and out of form and in the reserves when he was fit. Recently he has done well enough for Real Sociedad to show interest. Liverpool has shown little or no interest in him since he joined. Apparently Rodgers sends him an occasional text message to wish him well when he is playing.}

Realistically, what do you expect will happen to Ilori Ed002? I think he will be sold this summer.

{Ed002's Note - I can only speculate AG but I rather suspect that a move to Real Sociedad would suit him - as long as the club do not put an excessive value on him. The club needs to talk to all of the loan players and figure out a better approach to managing players who are on loan. They need a career roadmap and they need to understand if Liverpool has plans for them or not. Liverpool have three centre backs out on loan (Ilori, Coates, Paez) and Toure, Sakho, Lovren, Skrtel plus the youngster (Jones). That is 8 first team centre backs and I am sure there are more in the Under 21s. I think Coates will certainly move on from Liverpool but there seems to be no urgency for buying any new CB.}

With Fulham being relegated, and our side screaming for a left sided player, from the outside at least, signing Ryan Sessegnon seems to be a no brainer, especially with our recent success at buying from relegated clubs. Is there a particular reason ie attitude wise perhaps, that he hasn't been looked at?
Just baffles me especially when he's known to be a Liverpool fan and that Klopp has done well with bringing through young talent recently. Could cover many holes in our squad while developing to be a world beater. Just a thought.

OP, it is common knowledge that Sessegnon wants to go to Spurs and always has. He is not anywhere close to Robbo and will not come to be cover cos he wants to play every week so good on him to want to go where he can get game time. Now, that may no longer be Spurs cos Danny Rose looks like he's staying and so is Ben Davies. We shall see.

For me Milner is as good as anybody to be backup LB to robbo. When Milner moves on larrouci or Lewis hopefully will have been bedded into squad and gained some experience of game time. Sessegnon wouldn't come cheap and I'd imagine he wouldn't fancy competing with robbo and mane on the left. He will want to play regularly I'd think.

Decent pre season???? He's got a lot to learn and needs to bulk up. Sure he used to play second striker at benfica. He's not a rm and personally don't think he can cut the premiership. More suited to Italy.

just read your thoughts about a centre back leaving and none arriving. today I read an article in the telegraph about us opening talks with aymen abdennour of monaco. it said we opened talks, but gave no real quote or definitive statement that we were actually looking at signing him. IMO the telegraph used to be a great source of information on events that were true, but this article suggests to me that this is starting to change. I am from australia so i don't have the luxury of reading this source daily. is the telegraph a credible source of information or is it becoming more like the mirror and other tabloids.

Ive been reading that Shaqiri didn't play much during his loan spell at Inter, any chance we could make a play for him this summer? Also, as we clearly like to sign free transfer, isn't Luiz Adriano's contract ending soon? Is he a player that is being discussed? Seems strange we wouldn't go for him especially as he scored a lot of goals in the Champions League last season

I really don't understand why fans would prefer to take a punt on a fancy foreign name rather than introduce one of our own academy prospects ?

Not sure how a position we are looking to strengthen in is deemed as crowded? Brad Jones & Mignolet. think there is certainly room for some quality competition and if Handanovic was available on a free, he'd be a quality signing in my opinion, pretty sure i heard he's saved something like 6 out of his last 7 penalties.

Surely this is one position where we are not overcrowded nor do we have a obvious youth player to step up and its realistically the one position where I would always opt away from throwing a kid in.
