Last Summer's in phrase was 'shiny new toys'. This Summer is 'hyperbolic negativity'. What happened to good old realism? I think our first XI is decent, good enough for top four if we're lucky with injuries and with Endo or A. N. Other slotting in quickly and successfully.

It'll be interesting to see how Klopp approaches the Europa League and squad rotation versus the demands of the PL, as well as the other cups too.
Our squad strength is limited imo and I don't think top four is a given either.
I still see us as being vulnerable.

Fans have succumbed to the social media world of demanding everything here and now I think its just a measure of where society is these days mate.

Good old fashioned getting behind the team spreads positivity and that's what's needed!

GGR all for that mate. and I feel we'll be up there or round abouts. But on the other hand further new signings create positivity yeah? We know the 1st eleven is good enough for top 4 or should be but injuries have plagued us for a while now and the squad depth isn't there for me. Beat Newcastle then I might feel more positive. 1 game at a time I suppose.

GGR - Does your name stand for Got to Get Real? If it does, it absolutely shouldn’t.
Liverpool fans are NOT “demanding everything”. We aren’t demanding “City spending” nor are we demanding “a sugar daddy”. We want our club to maximize its chances of succeeding by doing things properly, and that includes having a well-equipped, talented squad and a functioning operation behind the scenes. Right now, Liverpool appear to be an absolute mess, and are being run by a manager who jolly well knows he’s practically untouchable and is well on his way to retiring from Liverpool with question marks over whether he has underachieved - something absolutely unthinkable even two years ago.

Let’s go bury our head in the sand again and blame the Tactics

That’s the new excuse, because the “hangover” from 2 seasons ago won’t wash anymore ?.

I remember seeing Man Utd fans go through this same stage after their massive success in the 90s. They stopped winning everything and all the new glory hunting fans were always negative, even after a 1-0 they occasionally booed because they were used to such huge heights.
I feared this may happen to Liverpool after having all this success and it's slowly coming true.

Everyone loves saying the squad is good and doesn’t need that much but then when they don’t deliver the big prizes again the excuses come out. You get better by signing better players.

Has to be some type of joke, without even adding Murillo to Forest….

- Liverpool have spent €298m in two seasons.
- Nottingham forest has spent €385m in two seasons.

FSG are really killing us off, we’ve deserved better for years, yet we’re still getting out spent by a team who could be in the championship next season.

And some here are howling we can't compare ourselves with Man City blah blah! I mean, get real.

8.) 25 Aug 2023

We the reds, that mite be true but FSG were willing to spend 110 mill on a player! Or were they ? the money had just magically disappeared.

Do people really think we are 'an absolute mess'?
Some of you need to get a grip if you do.

Skezza11 fully with you on this one mate.

I've slagged the owners off plenty but this is not all on them. There has definitely been more money available than what has been spent over last couple of years. We have turned our nose up at plenty of potential signings because they weren't Tchouameni or Bellingham.

12.) 25 Aug 2023
25 Aug 2023 15:35:21
We the reds. Those figures are nonsense.
Our wage bill alone in 2 seasons is in excess of £600 million. No doubt promoting the net spend myth. Did you add all the agents fees and associated fees?

Lots of fans most likely waited the 30 years for the premier league title.

If they’re glory supporters then they’re not very good at it.

We Are Reds, is Forrest trying to win the trophies at all? Is their wage bill anywhere near ours or any of the bigger clubs? Yeah, didn't think so. All your numbers mean nothing if you don't know how transfers are actually funded. Take a day off, man. You need it.

Hint: No club pays for transfers in full nor upfront in cash.

Realism? Okay. Realism.

Realism is that the squad isn't terrible. Far from it, in fact. Despite having 'no midfield' last year, we still finished 5th. ie. better than 15 other teams in the league. We bought two excellent midfielders and a third in Endo who hopefully will be good enough to hold down the DM position whilst Bajcetic develops into a first teamer. I'd still like us to get another solid player who can pla multiple midfield roles in, but the immediate crisis is largely solved.

A bigger concern is I don't like our current tactical system. I think creates more problems than it solves. It was designed to solve a problem that resulted from Hendo and Fabinho being run into the ground over two years and fixing that issue with signings, which imo we've done to a degree, would've solved it better than this ridiculous Inverted Wingback nonsense, which imo should now be shelved.

However. We know the club has money from the Caicedo bid (people on Twatter who say the bid wasn't real and that money isn't there need to stop taking drugs), and I think it needs to be invested in the squad this window. As above, I'd like to see another midfielder. And we could stand to move on Phillips and either Matip or Gomez (I'd go Matip cos Gomez is HG) and replace them with one good CB. I don't understand why we're continuing to be so fiercely loyal to players who just aren't quite at the level we need. And our obsession with the 'right player' appears to be costing us. I'm not saying 'just sign anybody', but 5 years ago, if we missed a player we got a different one. Like Salah. He wasn't first choice. Look how he worked out. That doesn't seem to be happening now.

I personally don't see the problem with the negativity. I live my life by it and I am literally the happiest man you could meet bar Maybe ed25 or Harry.

Shezza the problem is Man Utd won everything, season after season. We did not.

LoweLFC nah mate it stands for Glengormley Red but forgot my other password lol no I fully understand all the problems but all ya read on this and on social media is doom and gloom only 1 team wins the league every year that's now most likely to be city for another while so just accept where we are and support the team that's my point what's going to happen is going to happen.

Regarding transfers yea the club are a mess its pretty clear to see but there have still been a few good buys recently. It was always going to take a few years for the rebuild and whether it started too late or not it just doesn't bother me personally.

19.) 26 Aug 2023

Forest should have spent more, or less, to beat us in the table last season.

How do you judge our transfers, GGR?
By how much they cost? By how many we signed? Or by what they do on the field? Bearing in mind we've only played two games.
