Hello guys. First time poster here, only found this site a couple of months ago and have a catch up every night. So thank you for makin this site interesting (everybody! ) .
Question for Ed 1 - who do you prefer Alisson or Ederson? Because a lot of people tell me one is better then a lot of people tell me the other is better. So just thought I’d get you opinion on it.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think there is a genuine dispute that Alisson is better to be honest. By a margin as well. And I thought so before we bought Alisson and have seen nothing to change my opinion since.}

I have to agree with Ed001, I think Alisson could cope with anything thrown at him, whereas I think Ederson looks shaky under pressure.

Alisson is lightyears ahead of Ederson. Imo its not even up for debate.

This thread is totally biased. Ederson is better with his passing and as for playing well under pressure Alisson folded at Liverpool last season as did Ederson. For me they are both quality keepers and Alisson has more presence but he really worries me when he palms out soft shots to the middle of the 6 yard box, this is a big flaw in his game. The shot agains't Cardiff was no more than a back pass and he pushed it to the middle of the goal. If Karius had of done that he would have got slaughted. He also only had one top season at Roma.

Alisson is very good but can still improve.

{Ed001's Note - no you are just clueless about Ederson. His passing is not better, he has more options on the ball but he has not got anything like the assists Alisson managed in Serie A nor the range of passing Alisson showed. It is ok you are so busy trolling about how crap everyone who plays for Liverpool is, you have clearly not bothered to watch any games. You really are the most biased poster of all, you do nothing but slag off Liverpool players, worse than Harry, and see absolutely nothing good about them, only the bad. Try having a look at both sides of the coin some time and you might realise that there are actually some excellent players at the club right now. However you will never see it, because you will just be moaning that Salah doesn't make enough last ditch tackles or Alisson doesn't score enough goals.}

Very well said Ed.

this is why I try not to post on threads you are on because it is your way or no way. If I called you clueless you would lose the plot and spit your dummy out. I just don't happen to agree with some of your opinions. In my opinion Ederson and Alisson are very similar at this time.

Fabinho is slow
Shaqiri would be a top signing
VVD would be a game changer

these are just things we disagree on. I don't see why you want every poster to agree with you 100% of the time.

{Ed001's Note - I don't, if I did I would just delete everyone who disagreed. Obviously that escapes your notice as only you are allowed to have an opinion, which is why you claim when anyone disagrees it is them trying to shout you down and not allowing you an opinion, despite you having given one. I can't be arsed with you.}

Alisson did not fold at Liverpool last season, he was beaten several times. Even world class keepers can let 4 or 5 goals in a game.

In fairness to Mark, I don't think your overall post was biased or clueless. But perhaps the opening line opens you up to some criticism as it comes in strong.

I can understand anyone who thinks Allison is better. I've watched both closely for a year and whilst I regard Allison as a top keeper and a great signing, I am leaning towards Ederson currently. That could be down to the team he plays for but I too have concerns with Allison pushing the ball out too central. I do believe he'll improve on that though. Either way top keepers and its understandable to go either way imo.

I think Alisson is better, Football Manager 2019 scout’s think Alisson is better and Im sure Buffon said Alisson is in the top 3 best goalkeepers right now.

Alisson > Ederson.

08- You asked for it when you screamed that others' opinions are biased, and yet insist that you are allowed to have your own opinion (which incidentally is also your bias, if you thought about it before posting) .

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate, he does this regularly then cries about the response. He brings it on himself with his own words.}

This thread will always be slightly biased, as its the LFC site not the MCFC site.

However, Ederson isn't better with pressure. When he's put under pressure (which is rare given the quality ahead of him) he tends to struggle as he did against us.

Re his passing, I think he does have better long pass completion rates so far this season (87% to 79% IIRC from a 5 Live show last week), but that is just as likely to be down to this being his second season so the outfield players are more used to his passing. I think they are both great modern interpretations of top GKs. Alisson just edges it for me based on his presence. I mean who wouldn't be scared when facing a bearded man mountain with a girls name?! Scary on so many levels!

What has impressed me most about Alisson is the calmness and discipline he has instilled in our defence. VVD made a difference last Jan, but I still worried about us with Migs in goal behind him. Our back 5 this year just seem to click, and when the rest are working, swapping in, for example, Lovren for the odd game doesn't unsettle us like it did.

Would Ederson be just as effective for us? Who knows, maybe. But I'm happy with what we've got, thanks!

Allison is miles better. For me Ederson is the better kicker and that's as far as it goes. When it comes to goalkeeping Allison destroys him it's not even a debate.

Alisson no doubt. Put it this way. Ederson is good with his feet, and it suits the way City plays. But he hasn’t strengthened the defence of City much.

Alisson is good with his feet, suits the way we play and has significantly improved our defence. The current back 4 + Karius was still wobbly at times. But the current back 4 + Alisson = rock solid.
